A very messy Drama
This drama starts off pretty weird; the leads are both in love with their teachers. The story revolves around Unrequited love, and a very immature bond forms between leads in order to fill the void. Their relationship progresses, but never matures. It's merely a friends-with-benefits relationship.
A very toxic Second lead forms. The respective teachers that the leads are in love with start a relationship as well, which oddly turns into marriage.
The story has no depth, is cringe-worthy, and gets silly as it goes. There are minor relationships too.
The FL with a fellow classmate who actually loves her and is willing to sacrifice herself just to see the FL happy. Their relationship remained platonic in the end. The ML, on the other hand, slept with a girl from his past, while he was in a contractual relationship with the FL.
It's full of sex scenes, but not the explicit type. The drama happens in a few limited locations and we don't get to see so much outside.
There is romance but very superficial and without depth. The leads eventually fall in love but decide not to get back together and go on living their lives. More like an open ending.
Overall, a very average drama.

At times there were very realistic looks into the characters. Such as Mugi and Hanna being able to go . . . pretty far. Then Hanna realizes that just because they are both cursed to feel unrequited love they aren't really close. There's many layers, so many messed up characters. HOWEVER. The drama introduces them but never truly pushes the envelope to its fullest potential.
This drama is pretty dirty, at least dirtier than most K-drama viewers are going to be used to. So heads up. That said this isn't shockingly so if you have seen American TV.
Sometimes the acting was very cheesy. Others very potent. Yoshimoto Miyu as Hana often seemed off at first, but the more episodes past she was brilliant. Especially as she confronts herself in her mind about the choices she makes. Mugi seemed to be a pretty flat character, so I don't really think the actor had much to work with. Sarii Ikegami as Ebato was truly a surprise to me. She played it so well. Oh, and the Akane character was well done. Talk about creepy smiles. Yikes!
This drama captured my attention from episode 1. Sadly by the end it kind of took standard tropes to an (supposedly) unconventional tale, and instead of delivering the ending of shock. It petered up and wrapped things up pretty tamely. Which I won't lie, in the long run probably was the right choice for it.
In the end this drama was both thrilling and boring. A strange thing to find myself saying after all.

Pros :
Well ending was pretty ok . I like the fact that the 2 main school leads did not propose each other bcoz it would be a utter rubbish than.
It was mostly talks abt lonliness .
If your mind is looking for some sexual content than this one is for you . Some of the scenes were really good.
Cons:
If everybody start reacting like main leads in this movie to adress lonliness than there will be no meaning for relationships.
I wish it could stress more on" lovingly yourself and creating your personality thought your capabilities would be more satisfying than just addressing it as lonliness, and depending on others to get it satisfied".
Chatacter in the drama that i like: male teacher who married that slut. He was pretty decent and normal. The rest all reacted like they had no control over what they say and do.
Recommandation: yes i recommend to watch once if want some simple romance.

The plot was interesting because it totally wasn’t what I initially expected. Instead, I found that it had a very mature way of telling its story. It showcased a way in which teens are dealing with their first loves from various lenses. The actions of the characters themselves were a bit childish from time to time, but the narrative that it followed wasn’t. I think it was this progression that allowed every choice that each character made to be one that seemed logical and realistic. I was a little disappointed at the ending just from the perspective of what I initially thought I would get, but like I said, it was logical and it made sense. I will admit that this sparked a bit of my curiosity to see how the manga had done its storytelling and if it was in a similar vein.
The acting was nothing to write home about, but they did the job that was required of them. They were believable in their performances. Since a lot of them are young adults, it didn't feel as weird or inauthentic. None of these characters were particularly likeable, but it was nice seeing the diversity with the perspectives of dealing with first loves, unrequited love, manic love, etc. The only issue I find that I consistently have while dealing with Japanese/Asian content like this is the premise of having someone pursue someone who is very clearly a different sexual orientation and convincing them otherwise. I also didn’t like the insinuation that it was just a phase that Sanae may have been going through.
This drama is filled with a lot of love lines and so much happens in the course of the episodes, but I think everyone received a deserved ending. I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this drama as something to watch because they are better pieces out there that deals with similar content. However, you wouldn’t be losing anyways if you did decide to check out. Just be weary and certain that this is the vibe you’re looking for.

NOT a romance & not everyone's cup of tea.
Teenage sexual awakening. Infatuation, lust and hero worship are ultimately confused with love. This dorama is sensual, odd, kinky, sexy, debauched, and the unpredictable ending was ultimately for me unsatisfying but probably fairly realistic.I've watched it a several times.
I started watching the anime and was surprised that the storyline was exactly the same as the live action.
I happened to already love Sakurada Dori and became a fan of Yoshimoto Miyu by watching this. Her roll was definitely the most difficult. Though many of the characters were unlikable
all of the actors were very good.
Script excellent and true to the anime.
Direction: excellent.
Sound track: no idea if there even was one.
Production: Excellent, though many might miss that because the settings can be quite bleak at times.
Rewatch ability: for me excellent. I've watched it at least three times.

Fresh and unpredictable
This is a great Japanese drama. As I understand, it is based off of a manga & anime, neither of which I have seen. The plot is my favorite part of the drama; it felt fresh. There were several twists that I did not expect. Rather, I expected characters to follow certain tropes, but instead they did not. I really enjoyed not being able to predict what would happen next.
Unrequited love is a typical plot point, but usually for the sole purpose of leading to a different romance. This subverts that.
The characters were rich and I could end up seeing things from most of their points of view. Although each character acts badly at times or does the wrong thing, I can't help but to sympathize with them especially for the high schoolers, who are young.
It is a beautiful drama and I would highly recommend it, but I would also recommend watching it alone or with those you are very comfortable as there are sexual scenes, some of which are uncomfortable to watch.

Life lessons/ Coming of age
Storyline/Plot: I like the plot it was different, I added this to my drama collection of sad but teachable moments in Jdrama. I liked how this was beyond just sexual fan service but had a deeper meaning behind it. Also, the lesson wasn't really tackled a lot in movies or dramas, so I liked that they talked about this. On the other hand, I felt like the ending was understandable yet different as I expected the main leads to end up together. However, it was very realistic because they were only kids and it was good that they both made their relationship more healthy as well as their lives.Acting/Cast: I liked the Main male lead, Dori Sakurada since he was the reason I decided to watch it in the first place. Besides, I am not familiar with the other actors/actresses'. The acting was pretty good though, their wasn't any cringe scenes or scenes that were unbelievable.
In conclusion, I would watch this drama again due to the life lesson. I felt like a lot of people could learn from this when it comes to love acceptance.

[WARNING: the rating and review I give have the possibility to be subjective due to my preference for the genres, scenes or casts]Honestly, I don't really get what's the point of this dorama (^_^;) For me, if you have unrequited love, you just have 2 choices. Fight for it, or let it go (don't you ever sing while read 'let it go'! XD). Not a single thought to find a substitute for that unrequited love, especially with that physical need substitute (>.<)
Well, it's different for each people, but this kind of dorama is not really into my taste. I just a little bit happy with the anti-mainstream ending ... well, at least for me it's anti-mainstream (^_^;)
Regardless of the storyline and the absurd theme (for me), the casts are playing great. They’re act naturally and know what they should do.

I need to be medicated.
I loved this show up till around episode 7. It seemed pretty lighthearted even though it had its issues. But once it got to those episodes... My blood pressure stayed high, my jaw stayed clenched, and my anxiety stayed in the clouds.PLEASE NOTE: IF YOU WANT TO WATCH THIS, PLEASE BE OF AGE!!! I'M TALKING 18 AND UP! I DON'T CARE IF YOU THINK "OH I'M MATURE!" NO! 18+! -_- I SAID WHAT I SAID!
**WARNING: MASS SPOILER ALERT!!!**
I'm trying so hard to sort through my thoughts on this show but all I can think of is one constant scream. Therefore, I have a massive headache. I think episodes 7 and up really fucked with my head because legit, I can't remember the show before those episodes! I know that sounds crazy. Trust me, I know. It's weird because I KNOW I liked the show up till that point.. so why can't I remember? It's like once I got to that point, it was like a "my life is a lie" situation.
I hated Hanabi though. Really and truly. She goes on and on how much she loves (what the fuck is the teachers name?) Kanai? I think? ANYWAY -- I honestly feel like she mistook her infatuation with him as love. He's been there since she was a kid and honestly played a big male part in her life, so it kinda makes sense, I guess? What doesn't make sense is how through this whole (and yes, I mean the WHOLE show) is how they made Akane the "heartless bitch monster" of this series... I mean, don't get me wrong. She was. She was a awful piece of shit. But while she was that, Hanabi knew this. She saw what a shitty person Akane was and pretty much was like "I won't be like her" ONLY TO END UP BEING JUST LIKE HER!!! LIKE WHAT?!?!
I made me want to throat punch her so fucking bad. I get teenage hormones are the worst. I do. I really do, I've been there. We all have. But it doesn't mean we want to use every single person we know just to feel a void. Gosh damn. Be normal. Drink alcohol and do drugs like a normie. I'M FUCKING KIDDING!!! DON'T DO THAT!!! I'M LITERALLY KIDDING! DON'T DO THOSE THINGS! THEY FUCK UP YOUR LIFE! Lol
Anyway, now that bad joke it out of the way and I'm sure I will regret it. Yeeeeee let's continue. As you know, I'm completely and utterly Dori Sakurada biased. I love the man and all he does... but lemme tell youuuuuuu he pushed me in this show. Gosh daaaaaamn he pushed me. (there I go clenching my jaw again; gotta do what you can to keep yourself from screaming until your lungs deflate) How can you see you're falling for a person and genuinely be like "eh fuck that. I'ma chase ass instead" because that is pretty much what he did. How can you see someone's true colors and still want to pick them? All while saying their toxic behavior is "cute"? Bruh... what!?
Let me just say, even though I wanted Hanabi and Mugi together -- fuck that noise. How many times did they talk about a relationship only to turn right around and fuck around with someone else? Like I shit you not. The SECOND they were like "well... let's be a real couple then?" Hanabi went and had sex with someone else. WHILE TALKING TO SOMEONE ELSE AT THE SAME TIME! WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR DAMAGE!?!
Now a character I really did like was Ecchan. I was not expecting to see a character like her. She deserved so much better than what she ended up with. I think that is what made me hate Hanabi to the max was how she did Ecchan. How can you call someone your friend and lie to their face like that? Even if they say they're okay with you using them.... Smh, I don't care who you are. No one WANTS to be used. Don't do that to them. It's a bitchy fucked up move. Ecchan deserved better and she never should have forgiven Hanabi.
By the end of this show I pretty much hated everyone except like 2 people (Ecchan and Kanai). I still don't understand that ending and it pisses me off. All this time it seems like Hanabi was just getting by with her fuck toy and one friend? Yet at the end, dudes were tripping over themselves to ask her out and she walks away with a group of girl-friends. fihgwaslkhaflsk WHO THE HELL ARE YOU PEOPLE!? WHERE DID YOU COME FROM!? I hate gaps like that so much. Especially like this because there were no gaps. Everything happened so fast it was damn near lightening speed so it makes zero sense that all this happened as fast as it did.
They set up this ending and buildup like Hanabi and Mugi would get together and of course those that watch it know was a bust that was. That ending made me scream so loud in frustration. After all of this bullshit -- what was the fucking point? You expect the main characters to have some kind of story to finish off with but nope. It ended up the side characters that finished off the story completely. Why? What was the point? I'm so aggravated over this show.
Will I come back and fix this review? Maybe when my head stops pounding. Maybe not because I want to move on from this as soon as possible.
Remember kids, don't drink and don't do drugs. it was a joke and a bad one at that.

Frustrating, coming of age, high school drama.
I’ve not watched many j-dramas, but I think I’ve understood on lines they work on. Scum’s Wish is a drama that focuses on two teenagers in their late teens with crushes on their older tutors. They decide to start a relationship with each other under very messed up terms. The drama explores intimacy, sexual awakening, relationships between various characters. The leads explore their loneliness and try to fill it with physical intimacy. This is a very frustrating drama to watch, there are many annoying points that make you wonder why certain things are even happening. It seems to go around in circles. But in the end, there’s some kind of realisation that intimacy can exist in many layers and one doesn’t have to be sexual with each other to attain it. The ML and FL had strong chemistry, and if you are a regular K-Drama watcher you’ll find their scenes much bolder, I felt that they could have been a good couple in the end if they sought each other from the beginning or accepted each other as themselves. Maybe they will in the future, I don’t know.
One thing that stood out to me was the concept of consent, at least with the ML. Many a times physical love is portrayed in such a problematic manner, but seems to have been done well here.

Frustrating but well written show
(I watched this way back so please bear with my poor memory lol) First of all, I don't really like these kinds of shows that are very heavy and frustrating to watch but this show was just astonishing. Each of the characters are so messed up and they all had their own problems to deal with. The series showed us how one-sided love can affect a person and it showed us how people deal with their first love. For the actors, I really loved them their chemistry was amazing too, too amazing that my heart aches when seeing them in paired up with other actors, there was not much awkwardness between them despite the sexual scenes and age gap. The characters are really well-written too, people dislike this show because of how messed up it is but that's the point of the show, messy relationships and stories from each of the characters.I have a hate-love relationship with the ending lmao, I was very disappointed but at the same time relieved because they gave us a very realistic ending. That didn't stop me from reading the alternative ending tho, I spent hours google hunting the alternative ending manga. Anyways, overall the show is an 8 for me I would've gave it more higher but because of how it stressed me out so much 8 is a good number.
