So i've watched all the versions of the hana kimi series, both japanese one's too and i have to say this was probably my least favor. This is because i watched the first hana kimi first and than the remake than the Taiwanese version., because of this i've viewed this series to a bit more of a comedy. The problem i had with this version it doesn't have many funny moments and it's really quite predictable and the main character seems like she's a bit stupid and a bit of a stalker. I also found that the story focused mostly on the three main characters a lot but didn't do much to flesh out the supporting cast. The story reminded me much more of something like you are beautiful than hani kimi. Due to the fact that the supporting cast isn't fleshed out as much i couldn't get as invested in the ending as i had for the japanese versions. All in all a decant show not too many laughs they are in their sometimes but most of the time it's a bit cliched and follows some of the drama clichés but if you wan't to say you've watched all the incarnations of hana kimi.

The good:
The acting
main character development

The bad:
distance from supporting roles
not as funny as the other series
prdictable

Let me start by saying that I honestly didn't like gender benders.
I didn't like the idea of it so I never considered watching this drama.
But giving this drama a chance was soo well worth it. It is an AMAZING drama. I had so many laughs, so many smiles, I am so glad i gave it a chance. and so sad it ended :( this has become one of my favorite dramas.

--

Story: As i said before i wasn't really too into gender benders or anything of the sort, so i never thought of giving this drama a chance. And also the synopsis wasn't giving me the interesting vibe of " you should really watch this" However. a bit of advice is before you completely decide not to watch something, try out the first episode. This is what i learned and im so glad i gave this a chance. I never experienced a story quite like this one or a story that surrounded romance and sports but it left me interested in both completely.

Acting: Amazing, they never left me astray. They knew how to play the characters well and It left me super interested in the story. And to be honest this was the first drama where i was rooting for the second main character Eun Gyeol to get with the main character jae hee. ^^ so cute.

Music: Not many songs were used that I noticed, most repeated. But the good thing about it is that it played perfectly with the scenes that took place.

Rewatch value: Yes i would watch this again just to see the brotherly vibe and how amazing the characters were. Also to relive all the laughs I enjoyed while watching this. I don't know about all the other adaptions of this drama because i haven't seen them but i don't think any could top this one in my opinion.

Overall: Should you watch this drama? YES. a thousand times yes. This is an amazing drama that will keep you interested to the very end. I am super glad I gave it a chance and to those who are still wary of if they should watch this or not, you should. I recommend times 1000. Its insanely cute and it will make you laugh alot. Guaranteed. I nearly cried when it was over. :|

At first, watching the drama was pretty exciting. But then, I just can't stand the way the main actor is acting. It has no debt, and it's very cold and frozen. The story line is not special either, since its a remake. But the songs are good because they're supported by the SM Entertainment artists.

Episode 16 is the final, and it's out, but I really have no desire to watch it. Perhaps in the end, I'll watch it just for the sake of completing what I have started.

To me this would be by far the best remake of Hana Kimi out there. I loved the cast and how they got me into it. I loved the way they picked people as the cast. It was just a really good show. Thats why I suggest that people watch it. Its great and you have to love Nakatsu in this. So I really do wish that you would give this a try even if you didnt like the other versions this was is way different. I think that they showed how Sano progressed in showing his feelings a lot better then in the other ones.

This is the third Hana Kimi that I have watched and seeing as how big a fan I am of the Japanese version I went into this forcing myself not to compare to the other two, luckily the three versions are so different in style that I didn't. In fact this version almost took top version if it wasn't for a few moments that fell short for me. That all being said I shall now talk about the drama itself. I liked how this version showed more romance then the other two. It was cute and funny and you can't help but love it. This was also the only version where I couldn't decide which lead I wanted her to be with! I know she automatically gets with the first but I wanted her to be with second lead so badly. I liked Sulli but it was so obvious that she was a girl, she doesn't look like a tomboy like Maki and Ella did so it was hard to believe that she was suppose to be playing a boy. But I still enjoyed it and I was very surprised at Minho's acting skills, I hope to see him act more!
I recommend this drama to anyone! Happy Watching :)

I just finished watching the 16th episode of this amazing dramas after having started watching it 3 hours ago. The reason it took me so long? I paused it every 2 minutes and got distracted because I didn't want it to end yet. That is how awesome this drama was for me.
To be able to appreciate this drama at its full, I made me forget that it was a Hana Kimi remake. Hana Kimi was the second drama that I ever watched and I loved it. It's funny and full of friendship, silly scenes and cartoon-ish effects.
To The Beautiful You is nothing like that. In fact, this drama reminded me a lot more of You're Beautiful than of Hana Kimi. It's a drama full of super cute scenes that just made me giggly and giddy the whole time.
The story is really nothing special. I liked that it was light and not over dramatic. Even if there was a secret, that secret wasn't the focus of the story, it just made it move along, so it didn't really drag.
One of the things that I liked the most about the drama, where the parts where Tae Joon got ....excited...because of something Sulli did, or how she looked. It may look like I have a dirty mind, but it's not really that. I liked that because that's how real teenager boys think. When you're a teen you're just going through this roller coaster of emotions and hormones, and you can't even control anything. That's why I think that the portraying of teenagers here was great, very much like in Reply 1997.
The acting for me was one of the best points of this drama. The 3 main actors had great chemistry together, so you could really believe the scenes. Min Ho did a perfect Tae Joon, going from a cold boy to a really sweet one because of love. Sulli also did a great job with her role. The danger with a character like Goo Jae Hee is that she's so naive and innocent that it could make you want to strangle her sometimes, but Sulli pulled it off perfectly. She portrayed the character as a very sweet girl full of light and warmth, but not annoying at all. As for Lee Hyun Woo, he was a flawless confused boy, the new Jeremy. He was so pure and sincere with his love towards Jae Hee that it made you inevitably root for him. I loved one of his lines: "Boy or girl, it doesn't matter, we're all humans".
The music was good, specially J-Min's "Stand Up", but it did get kind of annoying at some parts the exaggerated advertisement of SM music.
I will definitely rewatch this drama again, because it's one of those dramas that just make you feel good, and like you're one of the characters. I will watch it evry time I feel bad, or every time I want to remember what innocent first love looks like.
Overall, I loved this drama. I get why some people won't like it, because it really has no much content, but I got swallowed by the fluffiness of it, and boy, did I enjoy it! :D

I love both the Japanese and Taiwanese versions of Hana Kimi, so at first I wasn't going to watch To the Beautiful You. I'm glad I did, though. It was a pleasant surprise. They added enough unique twists on the original story that it kept me interested. It was visually really nice, too. Lots of eye candy. Kind of light and fluffy, but I still really looked forward to watching it each week.

I really liked the cast. I liked that they're closer to actual high school age, so they play that teenage awkward-cutesy-angsty-ness really well. I pretty much fell in love with Tae Joon and all the supporting guys were really awesome, too. Jae Hee bugged me a bit, especially towards the end, but not enough to ruin things. Oh, and let's not forget the cutest guy in the whole show: SANGCHU! ^_^ I also liked the music, especially the theme song Stand Up.

My biggest complaint about this show is that it lacks the ensemble feel that the other versions have (especially the Japanese version). The supporting guys were definitely underused, especially those from the other two dorms. Kinda sad. I also thought the ending was a bit anticlimactic, but it's not like the other two versions had super-duper endings either.

So, really just small complaints. A very good show. ^_^

Regardless with what I will review below, I still give this drama QUITE high rates, not to bias just trying to be objective to myself.

To the beautiful you is easy watching, eye candy and a simple light drama, where there are no heavy feelings nor big suspend from the start till the end but it is still good drama to watch.

The pacing is not too slow but the problem, plots seems flat and everything was predictable (of course, everyone knew the storylines), it is HanaKimi ‘overwrite’ version but HanaKimi was hilarious ones.

For acting, Minho did a good job at his rate and Sully’s smiles are flawless but I hate the way she acting innocent. They’re great and suitable each other, for dramacrazy maniac, it is just a teenager’s drama type.

If you want to refresh your eyes then you should watch this. Beautiful fresh environment around the school, handsome boys all around, dream and cute dorm, it’s all about cute and perfect, and I have to mention this, Eun Gyeol did reminds me a lot of Jeremy in You’re Beautiful. LOL.

But OST is the best between the best, that one I can’t deny like Closer, In Your Eyes and It is me. I love all OST. Onew, Luna Sunny, Taeyeon always the best.

And the ending was too rushing but this drama is rewatchable. Romance seeker should watch this.

Today I saw the last episode and just wanted to post my opinion here.

I've seen the taiwanese and the original Japanese version of Hana Kimi (had attempted to watch the remake but I failed) and find that the authors of this version have made it with the best, especially because they have made it modern and believable than some the previous one. Maybe it was so interesting to me because I wanted to see what they retained what they changed and what they've deleted maybe.

I like the supporting cast (especially the Cha Eun Gyeol plays), but unfortunately the chemistry between Sulli and Minho was not one of lovers, which you can clearly see in the last episode.

Overall, its kinda cheeky and same. I didn't really like it, but I really don't hate it. Nothing other than Lee Hyun Woo, intrigued me. If you're a person to find differences in the same plot made in different languages, you ought to watch it.
For people who don't want less-story-more-cuteness, I'd highly recommend you to pass by. But for people who want a "cheerful-day-out" give it a one time watch. :)
If I'm asked to vote for the best version, I'd definitely vote for the Japanese one as it had all the elements to satisfy me.
I was in a very bad mood when I started this drama and to make it a little better I gave it a try. Otherwise I was never planning on watching TTBY ever! Because it made me smile when I desperately wanted to, I rate it a good drama.
The story wasn't too much of a hype because if you've watched the other two versions, you're bound to know "what-is-what" and "how-it-is-going-to-be-like" and also you know a lot about the characters already.
Acting? Lee Hyun Woo. Cutest performance as Cha Eun Gyeol :) He is the one that set my mood to watch TTBY! MinHo and Sulli were just fine. For me they didn't really work out that well. A special mention to Ha Seung Ri Sunbae and Seol Ha Na's "laugh-attitude" relation.
Music? I used to put all my attention to Onew's "In Your Eyes". His voice just made the scene look the way it should! Also J-Min's "Stand Up" is a quirky song that suited well for ending credits.
Rewatch Value? Oh well, I'd rather rewatch "Hana Kimi" than the other two versions. I give it a decent rewatch thought as there are not many memorable scenes that made me go gaga in my head. But who knows, I might stumble back upon only a few moments because of Lee Hyun Woo. :P

It was so cliche in the beginning, to the point where I was really starting to wonder about this drama. However, I'm really glad that I did finally watch it because it turned out to be such a fun, enjoyable treat. Although there were some question marks in my head because of the loose ends. The chemistry between the cast was great! I loved that Seo Joon Young and Kang Han Neul was in this!

Some people say that this is really boring, that all that happens is that a girl dresses up as a boy, lives a the boys' dorm, blah blah.

However, I decided to give it a chance and watched it.

I got hooked from the first couple of episodes. It's funny, sad, and romantic at the same time. Because the actors and the scenes were so good, I just couldn't choose who to support.

Although near the middle it kind of got boring, I decided to keep watching. I'm glad I did, because they patched it up amazingly and the story just got better.

Some people also think that the ending was eh, but I personally liked it. I won't write it here because that would be spoiling it, but I believe the ending wrapped it up nicely.

I cried, I yelled at the screen, I laughed, and I got thoroughly angry, disgusted, and loved the characters, which meant that they were played very well.

If you want a sweet, sad, romantic, and adorable drama, To The Beautiful You is for you.
