Got lost watching the whole drama

How do i even summarize this drama? A mess and a lot of plot loops ?
1st) usually long dramas will drag, and this one did. I enjoyed a good half of it and then started to get confuse and lose interest towards the middle .
2nd) wanted to watched mostly because the main leads were Sheng Yi lun and Wang zhi wen .

Storyline ( let me try my best to summary)
There was an evil sword that no one who control, so Feng gave up her life to put a seal/lock the sword. This causes her husband to go to the dark side, thus creating the evil dude group aka An Ye You Ting. There is also a earthly king and his people, as well as this sect called Jiu Hua. The male lead goes to like a deity school and gets into the sect of Jiu hua, which there is a prince. The female lead is also in the sect. She is the daughter of the Mo family who is respected by the earthly king. The Mo family turns out not to be the family of the female lead, but the female lead is actually the daughter of feng and the evil dude. Meanwhile , another powerful family is the Ye family. One of the main protagonist his the elder Ye son., Ye wu Que. He's obonxious, arrogant and evil. He joins hands with An Ye You ting to try to kill the male lead. I forgot to mention that the male lead once did have any wuxia ability, but somehow got this stone and his powers increased a lot. After that, a whole bunch of stuff happens, lol by the end I'm kinda lost.

Romance- hardly anything between the female and male lead, mostly hugging. Finally the kiss at the very end, lol ep 52!!! Even the second male lead the prince, got a kiss from his loved one...

The last 15 episodes just confused me, it was like two stories were happening because the male and female lead were both separated and faced their own things, and towards the end they just merged the two story into one, and called it an ending.

Actors misguided and bad staging... but still interesting

I had been waiting for this drama for so long ! I had great expectations and was quite excited when it aired. But now, I am really sorry to say that the most interesting part of this drama is the OST with awesome opening and ending themes ! There is also a good surprise : actor Chen Meng Xi's talent and good looks.

Actually the storyline is quite interesting and brings mystery, but the whole story is a bit messy, the drama itself is really bad staged and actors misguided and/or badly filmed. There are so many mistakes in the staging, some moments are really funny when they aren't supposed to be and leave you really doubtful... There are two directors for this drama, they should have hired a third one !
The pace is really slow, I watched it at speed 1,5 from episode 30 to the end.

So what is this xianxia drama about ? The Immemorial Demon Sword 's 500 years enchantment is about to break up. Demon Sword brings misery and sufferings to the mortal realm. To maintain peace and guard the Demon Sword, Jinhua school recruits talented cultivators and night watchers in order to prevent the Night Clan (demonic sect) to waken up the Sword.

The main plot begins when the regent emperor colludes with the Night Clan and Bai family in order to rule the world. Qin Wenxian ( Peter Sheng) is an adopted son of the powerful Qin family. His real parents are unknown and he has no cultivation capabilities but for some unknown reasons he will be the one who wil carry in his body the Stone of Star Soul which will give him extraordinary powers and makes him a genius within the Jinhua school. This stone is the only weapon that can defeat the Demon Sword. How will Qin Wentian use this stone ? Nothing is sure. Will he join the Night clan and turn evil ? Will he save the world and be loyal to his friends and family ? You'll get the answer on last episode.

Beside the main plot, there are different love stories, shared love, one sided love and unrequested love. Sweet moments and also mean ones, some of them are really good but some of them are are just ridiculous or unexpected...
The love story between the main leads is interesting but there is poor chemistry. Princess Qingcheng (Olivia Wang) is actually the Immemorial Demon Sword's guardian although she isn't aware of it when the drama begins.. She is the one connected to it and may sacrifice her life to keep the enchantment. Qin Wenxian and the Princess are both Jinhua school disciples and of course they are in love and have to face good and bad moments... Will they end together and love for ever even after ? Yes !
Peter Sheng and Olivia Wang's acting is so so. They are good but not at the utmost of their skills. I liked Jerry Chang who played perfectly well his role (vilain, superb and gorgeous at the same time ! ). I won't say much about the actors ( I had a crush for Chen Meng Xi, so sexy when he turns evil...). As I said before actors were not helped by the directors who obviously lack staging skills or just... don't like actors !

In this drama, there is action, mystery and some good scenes. If you are not very demanding you will spend a good time watching this, especially if you are Peter Sheng or Olivia Wang's fans !

Not as good it could have been but still worth watching

This drama had a lot of potential - good story-line, amazing female lead ( Wang Zi Wen aka Olivia Wang ) and well acting male villain ( Cheng Men Qi ) also most support role actors performed well. They succeed ti create an livid illusion of magical world which keep you hooked. And then there is also the Little Scoundrel...

Unluckily the male lead ( Peter Scheng ) shatters the illusion every time the story focuses on him. His acting is totally expressionless and his "acting" is basicly walking around and reading his lines monotonously. From about episode 20 onwards I completely ignored him. With some capable male lead I would have rated this drama 9 or 10 - but now I can only rate it 8.

Anyway this drama is worth watching

Literally lost in fantasy

An underrated drama in my opinion.
I watched this drama in 3 days and I was hooked from the first episode til the end. I didn't skip one minute (as I do sometimes, when it's predictibale and boring :-).
The story is simple: good against evil... But - It shows you, why someone becomes evil. It's always a reason. And in every evil is a sparkle of good.
The embedding of this theme in the fantasy genre and the images of stars are very successful.

The whole cast did a wonderful job. Peter Sheng as kind-hearted, sensible Quin Wen Tian is adorable.
I loughed (espacially with the little urchin :-)) and cried a lot. I felt the friendship and trust between the disciples in my heart. This is not a lovestory or a romance. It's about finding the right path and the inner struggle between good and evil and the right decision. The love between the main couple is sweet like the scent of flowers in spring.

If you get involved in this drama, open your heart to the feelings of friendship, loyalty, trust and love, you will not be disappointed. To follow the story it's important not to skip.

The special effects and green screen aren't the best, but don't detract from the story and the great cast.

Much underrated drama

Initially, I was hesitant to watch this from the reviews and the rating of 7.5 here. I’m glad I watched it. I’m a fan of Olivia Wang and of all of her dramas that I’ve watched, she looked the most beautiful here and I’ve always liked her acting. I’ve only seen Peter Sheng in ‘Oh My General’ which I enjoyed very much but Sheng looks more handsome here. Kudos to both their stylists. I feel he’s a good actor as well. What I didn’t like is how long this drama is. Consequently, too much airtime was given to the secondary leads and side characters. The secondary lead couple is not like-able for the drama to spend so much time on them especially in the 2nd half which dragged for me.

SpoilerAlert
The first 30 seconds of the drama sets the stage for the rest of the story. The true identities of the 2 protagonists unfold as the drama progresses and I had to rewind several times to rewatch the first 30 seconds to understand who’s who. Qin Wen Tian is the successor of Diety/emperor Cang who, along with ‘Huang’, sacrificed themselves to save the world. Deity Xi is Huang’s husband and swore enmity with the rest of the world after Huang’s death. Mo Qing Cheng is the daughter of Huang and Xi though few knew it and not even Mo and Xi until much later. The story is about the 2 protagonists, QWT and MQC, 500 years after Cang and Huang’s death, their background, how they met, their adventures with other side characters, evil court politics and what they were ultimately destined for.

Bai Qiu Xue is the fiancée of Qin Wen Tian from childhood. She and her family publicly broke off their engagement and humiliated the Qin family all for riches, reputation and power. Such an annoying character and her excuses for her bad deeds seem to be jealousy and ‘I have no choice’ . She got engaged to the handsome villain, Ye Wu Que, after dumping QWT but regretted it after he got super martial arts power from receiving the heavenly ‘ soul stone’ as Cang’s successor. I felt the drama focused too much on this secondary couple and the younger, tragic Bai sister.

I enjoyed the music but I believe there were only 3 songs. Thankfully, after 52 episodes, it’s a good ending for the main couple. You could say I’m a sucker for good endings.

The title of Lost Fantasy is Real messed

This the first time i cant stand and need review it. Its also the first time i need to fast forward so many scene.

I know this story line not bad that why i force myself to complete it.
Here some notation hope they improve, if ever produce another fantasy drama ......

1) Too long and unnecessary scene which push down story line and climatic mood way below rate.
2) Those scene and plot jumping everywhere with all actors and story in a mess. There is no synergy to each scene jumping around with unnecessary plot. (MESS)
3) Lost in main story line because all those side line story are TOO long.

Lost In the Fantasy is real.

This is a drama with lots of well delivered action and fantasy. Although there’s a romantic storyline for the main leads, they failed to deliver because of the lack of chemistry. The supporting cast did fairly well but their romantic storylines also flatlined. There are too many inconsistencies with the cast supernatural abilities when they were supposed to be the best on their superpower and they failed to use it to protect themselves (i.e. how a high level cultivator gets slapped three times and can’t deliver one single blow?) The story drags and gets convoluted with too many subplots and supporting cast’s storylines. The ending, although a happy one, is rushed and unimpressive.

Not the best series I've seen, but I managed to enjoy it anyway.

There were quite a few loopholes and some pointless plotlines, but I think the actors did a great job in their roles. I got attached to a few of the characters, and really despised some of the others. But even with some of the villains, you got to see the softer side of them too.

I liked that many of the storylines got tied up neatly - but some were a little vague and left hanging. But for the most part, there was continuity with the episodes, and I didn't feel lost from one to the next. It did get a little draggy in parts, so I fast-forwarded through quite a bit of those parts.

I was disappointed in the lack of romance, even though there were several couples whose stories I was following with great interest. Unfortunately, there was very little chemistry between the ML & FL, but I liked them anyway. This actress did nothing f or her character - her facial expressions were really blank most of the time. It was only in the last episode as she professes her love that she seems emotional. And wow! I waited long and hard for the one kiss in the very end.

Not a series I would rewatch - because there weren't a lot of scenes that were worth looking at again. Still, I did enjoy the series. I like these long dramas because I can always find something to hold my interest.

It was an average show

For those of you who came here after reading the books you huys are gonna be solely disappointed. This show loses most of what makes the novel great and part of that could be how they condensed the story but also they changed certain elements of the world which made so many characters inconsistent, especially if you've read the book where they've been all fleshed out
Also, these guys must be taking notes from hollywood since they decided to cast actors all looking like they are in their 30s as 16 year olds
Sadly though, this is the only adaptation from a wuxia that i was able to sit through so it is atleast more watchable than fight breaks sphere(makes me upset whenever i think about it).
The biggest problem i have with this show though is how the ML has taken a backseat to the story and this are just happening to him with no agency whatsoever. Also the focus on the side characters is just ridiculously too much. If they had just adapted solely Qin wentian story without condensing it, then it would have been 100 episodes easy, but now you wanna adapt and fucking removes the elements of the story that actually build on the ML, it just pisses me off. I could go on and on about this but im sure yall get the gist of my feelings towards this show. In short, if i hadnt read the book, i would like it more than i do

Not great. READ THE NOVEL INSTEAD.

I'll make it short: Just go and read the NOVEL. The novel is absolutely beautiful and many many MANY times better than the drama. The whole drama is like 1/20 of the story in the novel and it has a slightly different... theme and feeling to it. It's a beautiful cultivation story about Qin Wentian and how he rose to power of all realms and etc. you know the vibe. The casting for this drama is probably one of the worst in xianxia novels' adaptations. Just save yourself from the trouble and go read the Ancient Godly Monarch novel instead

Boring

Im on episode 17 and its just really boring. The main guy has managed to get some extra power and he still doesnt know how to use it. I have fallen asleep through most episodes and ive really tried to keep watching but its just so boring. Its also quite messy. Theres lots of different things going on. And why isit taking so long for the main leads to get together and make it official? This whole series is not making any sense. Everyone is blaming everyone and its just a hot mess. I dont think i can waste anymore time on it.

OMGosh, this was the best of the best of fantasies. The storyline was perfect, lots of martial arts, and the visuals were fantastic. I have watched almost every drama that Peter Sheng is in. This actor is believable in every role I see him play. The character he played Qin Wen Tian is one of them. I have watched this before and forgot to do a review. When rewatching I remember how great the storyline is. The sword scene is fabulous and I felt it was real. It was like I was watching a sword ballet. The martial art was every bit awesome. Wang Zi Wen played Mo Qing Cheng, a beautiful actress who also played her role well. The costumes she wore were beautiful! I loved the school's costumes as well. Thanking all the other actors and actresses who all did fantastic from good to evil parts. I will probably rewatch this again. Thanking the writers, producers, and directors for making a fantastic drama.
