I Need Romance is a wonderfully, more realistic look at relationships than most dramas out there. The three women are all independent, lovely and funny. Their friendship is central to the story and their closeness brings a foundation to see them through their romantic highs and lows. I loved that the girls were always supportive of each other even if they didn't agree. I loved that they fought and got annoyed with each other but forgave each other easily. Just like real girlfriends.

It's breezy and fun to watch. I enjoyed it very much and I think what I liked most is, everyone seemed so real. There were elements to each character that I certainly recognized in friends or loved ones in my life. They were fallable, made mistakes and wrong choices but then worked them out in a believable way.

I love Korean Dramas for their differences from American TV but it is nice once in a while to see a more realistic portrayal of modern romance and its difficulties. The questions that arise from a real romance. Will we get bored when the newness wares off? Can I forgive him if he cheats? Can I be okay with a more casual sexual love affair? How do I tell a man what I want or that I want more? These are only a few of the question that come up for the women. I am glad that every question isn't wrapped up in a neat little fantasyland bow. The plot lines are handled with a serious air but also a wry, truthful humor. This show made me smile and laugh.

I also loved that while the characters grew during the course of the plot, they didn't completely change their personalities. The love stories were fun and sexy too but still not blatent. The writing, acting and directing were all very solid. I very much enjoyed the narration of the lead character, giving us insight into her inner thoughts. I like the freeze frame stills interjected into the scenes to emphasize an emotion or mood. Fun!

Each episode is about 45 minutes or less and they do speed by pretty quickly. I attribute that to the smart writing and zippy story lines of each episode. I doesn't drag. I really liked the music as well.

This is a fun watch. Easy to invest your time in watching. It had me smiling, happy and waiting for the next episode. Pretty PG but with real kisses and frank sexual discussion. Always a plus in my book!

I got hooked.

Started watching it at 1pm ended at 7am (no sleep). That's how good the drama was for me. The complicated relationships made me wanna watch the next episode so bad that I ended up having no sleep.

THIS DRAMA IS NOT FOR KIDS. One has to be open-minded when watching this drama.

Acting was good. The leading woman acted cutely. The leading man acted jealous and cute. I started this drama wishing that the 1st couple would end up together (after watching the 1st episode, i skipped to the last just to know who the woman will end up with). Towards the end, I ended up wishing that the 2nd guy and the leading woman would end up together.

It has a sense of comedy and drama. You'd be able to feel the drama's emotions. What I mean is that when one feels angry, you'd be angry. When one feels in love, you'd also feel in love. That's what I liked with this drama.

I think this drama aired last year (2011). I actually told myself, why the hell did I postpone watching this?! I regretted watching it late. Now that I've watched it, I feel good because another happy ending has ended. ;)

What a wonderfully refreshing drama!

Everything about it marks a shift from the usual Korean pattern: plot, lines, direction, editing, photography, ending.

I was hesitant at first because I read too many compare it to Sex & The City - not my cup of tea. But I soon found out that, although the premises are similar - three friends experiencing and openly discussing their love and sexual lives - the general feel of it is completely different. Less stress on glamour and a lot more on internal struggles and doubts, all spiced up with a clever sense of humour and surprisingly GOOD kisses.

I watched the whole show with a big grin on my face. It felt so much like my real friends and I meeting at a bar and talking about ourselves, gossiping about men and their idiosincracy, it was amazing. I love Korean dramas for their exotic touch, situations I would never experience myself because they are culturally too different from my reality; but this drama managed to depict "universal" characters and situations. It felt real, albeit comedic, and as a woman I identified with all of them, on one level or another.

And it's impossible to watch it without talking about it. "What would you do?", "who would you chose?", "did she make the right decision?". All questions one is almost compelled to discuss with someone.

Direction is refreshing too. I thought the use of captures, or episode stills was a very clever choice: expressions are encapsulated in a moment in time and stored away, like a photo album.

The pace is fast and the music soundtracks it with hilarious cohesion.

Overall, a funny, realistic, well characterized drama, which I recommend to every adult. It may not appeal to younger viewers; as for inappropriate scenes, I saw none, but keep in mind I speak as a European.

The final message of this drama is: cherish yourself and your true friends, they won't let you down.

I really loved this drama, because of the different storyline, and I namely like the frank and funny sex talk, the realistic and messy relationships, the offbeat best friends with crazy love lives and boyfriend revenge plots.

All in all, it was a more realistic story, than the korean dramas, i've used to see :) But it is a MUST SEE -!

A little on the shallow side; the main character's ideals have some depth, towards the beginning, but this largely struck me as a scarcely meaningful collection of obvious, risqué topics and superficial/trivial banter between the three female friends. Definitely not the kind of drama that can grab your heart, or mind for that matter. But if you want something light, breezy and sleazy, this is the drama for you.

I loved the cast here. The main plot is not that great, exiting and interesting, and I didn't like the ending for the lead characters, but side stories are actually worth watching. I think side stories are the strongest point in this drama.
It's not a masterpiece, but if you want something entertaining, light and simply good, you can watch this.

This is a nice light hearted comedy-drama. It was enjoyable and easy to watch. It has a similar premise to other women-centered shows like Sex and the city, Mistresses, Gossip girl, Girls ect.
It wasn't bad, but it wasn't anything extraordinary to begin with.

STORY
The main premise is the love lives of 3 girl friends.

Firstly, the protagonist. She is cute, nice, the most relateable i think. The show mostly focuses on her. Her story is the most interesting. Her story is about long term relationships, their problems after many years of dating and how (and if) you can get away from them. Specifically, she is in a 10 year old relationship. The main questions her story targets are: Is love alive after 10 years of dating? Is this relationship going anywhere? (why isn't he proposing?) Is he cheating? Should i break up? Can i break up? Can i move on? Things like that.

I found her story and the way she thinks about these things very real. Of course there is a love triangle developing here, still her decisions seemed rational and logical until the end.... What i didn't like about this show mostly was the fact that you can forsee what will happen in the end, from the first 3 episodes... In the end i found her decisions kinda stupid and not rational. They were obviously made just for the show to finish the way it was supposed to...

Story #2. Virgin aged 33. I found her the most interesting in the beginning, but i was dissapointed in the end... So much potential wasted. Her story was cute nonetheless, again you can forsee what will happen from episode 2. Nothing exciting ever happens...

Story #3. If you've seen sex and the city, she is the Samantha of the trio. Well, i consider myself an open-minded person. But there are some really questionable life choices here, that i couldn't help but judge... Samantha was a slut indeed, but she had a nice soul. Here this girl is heartless... She is a selfish slut, there is no other way to put it. Thinking just yourself and not caring for anyone's feelings saying "its their feelings they have to care for their feelings, i will care for mine" isn't logical, isn't right... Relationships are between 2 people, feelings should be considered from both sides... I tried not to hate her because she was a good friend but come on... As for her story, she gets her own love triangle... But she is so self-centered i just stopped bothering with her after a while....

The main problem i had with the show was that in relationship dramas, the show has to make you care for the flawed characters... Here it failed to do that, or it failed to do that to me... When there are some questionable plot choices, the show needs to explain why they were made... Here it just tells us, ";i felt like it, so i acted that way", maybe they wanted to make it feel more "real" but that made me judge them and not care for them to excuse them... The main character is the only one with rational choices... even though in the end she does stupid things and i was like... "Bitch, you deserve getting hurt"

ACTING
Well, i've seen better... It wasn't bad... It was fine, i just... have seen better in other kdramas... It was believable and good nonetheless... The main protagonists tried to act too cute and it bothered me at some points but overall it was a solid performance from everyone.

MUSIC
Generally i don't really care about the music, its just there... But here the music was amazing. There were certain tracks used thorough the show. That might have made the show feel a bit repeatable, but those tracks set you in a certain mood for everything that happens in the scenes, and i loved that. Each song expresses a feeling. Plus they were good songs!

RECOMMENDATION
Well, ehm.... I feel the show generally targets females in their 20s and 30s... I generally LOVE these shows about women, but not this so much. Everything had been done before and in a better way... Plus, you need to be quite open minded to watch, i really rolled my eyes so hard sometimes they were stuck in the back of my head with some character decisions... So, if you are a woman i think you'll appreciate the show a lot, even if nothing wowing really happens. If you are a man, then no... you will hate it and with good reason.

Would i rewatch it? No never, if i'd ever catch an episode on tv and nothing else was on, i'd watch it. But i'd never put it again on purpose... no.

OVERALL
It wasn't a bad show... I had a lot of fun watching it, it was an easy watch. The main problem that made me less excited about the show the more i was watching was the stereotypical presentation of men. "Men just want sex, men don't care about feelings" ect. But at the same time, the slut of the trio gets involved with 2 wonderful guys who she hurts... and the main protagonist gets involved with a cheater who wants to be forgiven after 2 times of cheating... The show should be more neutral about presenting men and women... Maybe i am a guy and i see things a little differently, thats why i said the show obviously targets women...

I Need Romance.... A World away from other Kdramas!
It's something completely new but just very very good! It makes you think about love and makes you feel in the Drama... I even ended up thinking: Will that happen to me, too
The characters are very individual and refreshing! Even though the characters were different they came along well.
The story has many turns and it's not the typical "the bad boy will win, I knew it from beginning" story! Till the end I didn't knew who would "win"- something new for me!
But caution: You should not watch this as a "young or a young minded person" because it's SEX and the City like :/ Don't know if it's something for younger ones :s The rest of Dramaland should definetly not miss the break from the old but gold "bad boy, good girl" story :))

At first I thought "This is really a version of 'Sex and the City'. However, that thought disappeared at the middle, when they started adding all those drama cliché scenes.

The cast was good, they had good actors. Just the plot wasn't that nice.

Many people complaint about the ending part, but I was already expecting it. It's no big deal, but it can upset those who watched it with some future expectatives. I hate dramas that go on circles as if they're playing with their viewers, but this was still fine.

I recommend watching if you like more adult scenes, but it's nothing like a masterpiece. As for me I won't watch any more dramas with more than a couple for a while.

I watched I NEED ROMANCE 3 first. Did not finish and never even wanted to try previous two. But.... in forums someone suggested to watch the 1-2 parts because it was a good romance and a lot of sweet realistic kissing. So I gave it a try. To be honest I really LIKED IT! I found the main leads sweet, and although, I was a bit sad with whom she end up at the end I kind of understood for the reason he was her 1st everything. Saying that I would never pick a guy who would cheat on me once because if he does it once or twice he would do it third and more times. Once a cheater always a cheater. So that was the drawback of the story. Other than that I really like whole series. In fact I was really looking forward to next episode at the end of the previous one. Music, cast, and story were great. I won't rewatch it but will watch I Need Romance 2 and compare to this one. I loved the realistic plot, conversations, kissing and chemistry in this one. I also enjoyed the three women and their talks! One thing I could change is the ending. I prefered 2nd lead guy, even the 1st one was super good looking. Still his behaviour made me don't like him. You don't stay with a girl for 10 years and cheat. The story was soft, sometimes predictable and kind of interesting to watch. I would say if you want something that is fun and realistic enough to watch - start with I Need Romance and continue till #3. I also hope they will continue to make more of them and make them even more fun to watch :)

I found "I need romance" on a list of the best dramas of all time, so I figured why not give it a try.

From the beginning, I was dragged into the show. It has been a while since I started watching a drama without watching other dramas in-between.

The story: It had its ups and downs. I felt like it started off smoothly, but it still needed some work done towards the end. I don't want to spoil it, so I would only say: Guys? and What happens next?

Acting: The actors had played their designated roles. Even the main actress, who over-smiled, brought out a heartwarming feeling.

Music: At first, I didn't really pay attention to the music, but after a while, I felt that everything fit together. I especially liked when the girl friends got together to discuss the 'problems', the music at the moment brought out that these girls are besties for life.

Will I rewatch this drama? - Well that depends if I won't find anything else to watch, then I would go back to my favorite dramas. However, I would definitely go back for the guy tips. LOL.

the low score here is really for one reason and one reason only and that reason in In Young. the character is well acted if not well written. i spent half the drama actively hating her and hoping bad things would happen to her just so i'd feel better about her selfishness and cruelty.

she isnt selfish and mean in the traditional drama sense, but in a much more insideous way. her selfisness is cloaked in self manufactured naievity and "confusion" which she drops in a second when it suits her.

i did find the drama entertaining even though i wanted to stuff In Young in a locker somewhere. the supporting cast are brilliant which more than made up for the banality and cliche that surrounded all discussions about realtionships sex and life.
