I must say even after watching this for the second time Thirty But Seventeen still didn't fail to deliver. People will not only love the leads but all of the characters because everyone in this show is just so lovable and endearing. It felt like watching a family, we see them encourage one another, heal, and grow as a person. It was also as if we took part in witnessing their every progress and development. I really liked how this show was able to give all characters a unique personality and gave their individual stories a justice, unlike some dramas that build the characters lazily and utilizing them only to provide spotlight for the leads, this was well put and written.

I also like the chemistry of the leads and the acting of all the actors for this drama, is on the roof. Shin Hye Sun and Yang Se Jeong are like top stars who have received awards in their names and it shows. Everyone in this show are already veterans and have other several dramas already like: Lee Do Hyun, Jung Yoo Jin, and Yoon Sun Woo.

The pacing of this drama is also just right. I like how everything was just smooth sailing, without too much drama all the way until the end. Not having an annoying evil character was also a plus for me. The leads were already having a hard time as it is no it wasn't necessary anyway. The romance was also not too overly done, and I appreciate the scriptwriter for making it that way. At first I was wanting more romance from the leads but somehow I realized the way it was written was already perfect the way it is. The characters are cute the way they are since they are slowly growing, naturally the romance should also go by a slow pace. It also was nice how everyone got to face their problems and developed as a person in the end.

Overall, I highly recommend everyone who loves a slow paced spring-like dreamy drama, to give this one a try. We get to learn some things about life while watching this. It can cheer us up, in a tiring day of work, plus we can get some really good quotes to live by. So it is a 9.5/10 for me.

Do not miss this feel good drama

Its my first time writing a review...
Just started the drama without having much expectations and also for female lead
Want to say the ppl who are hesitating to watch, give it a try
I really really liked the drama and also the side characters who had their own story and pain
The male lead acting was so natural and his smile... Wow!!!
Its just worth watching. ..
Realised that few side characters now became the main leads in another dramas
We can also watch their teenage crush side that was so sweet
I cried whenever the main leads were crying
This was also my first drama where there was not much second lead syndrome though the other leads were gud character wise
All in all just watch it

Dont think. Feel!!!!!

A truly wonderful drama. It has the perfect balance of comedy and emotions and further proves my case that pre-2019 KDrama's are the gold standard.
So rare to watch a drama with so many green-flag characters with no toxic traits.
This is only my second Shin Hye Sun drama following Mr Queen, and she is so endearing and brilliantly plays the role of a 17-year-old who wakes up from coma 13 years later.
Yang Se Jong plays his role brilliantly and he deals with a trauma he's been carrying for so long. A very young Ahn Hyo Seop is the glue that holds the group together.
The supporting cast are great too.
There are some very minor plot holes and the OST is good but not amazing - although it fits perfectly to the story.
Thirty But Seventeen (or Still 17 as it's called on Netflix) is one of those gold standard dramas that you don't want to tend! Remember - don't think - feel! Go watch it now!

This is a very good Korean "Hallmark" type drama. Although the romance in this drama progressed slowly, both main and supporting characters did a great job bringing these characters to life. The leading couple, Shin Hye Sun as Woo Seo Ri and Yang Se Jong as Gong Woo Jin, embarks on a journey of healing through a heartwarming and steadfast love and wholehearted support for each other. The lead couple maintained a steady and "crescendo" chemistry throughout the drama (the younger actors did great, too). Enjoy it!

At first I drop this drama because of the tile, thought it was going to be some time traveling, to the future. But glad to take a second chance on this drama, The beginning of the story was a bit off, it’s either wrong subbing or just doesn’t make sense. From when they keep mentioning the year of the accident, And just how is a dog still alive for that long? But anyways This drama is really really nice, funny, and quiet sad watching Woo Seo being hospitalized, seeing her miss out all her youth year, and being abandoned was heartbreaking. And poor boy being traumatized for something it’s not his fault:(
I love the friendship and support that the characters have for one another. I find the pace of the drama went by pretty quick for me and great story line, I won’t say it’s the best but it’s a lighthearted comedy/romance, gotta love Woo Seo and Gong Woo cute funny scene. And have to say first drama I’ve seen so far where all the castings are amazing, as in no annoying/ bad guy besides the aunt who abandon Woo Seo but not to mention they are not likely in the drama anyways. What I do like about this drama to is that there’s a triangle love between Woo Seo, Gong Woo and his nephew but it’s not like every other drama where they will fight over the FL and that’s one thing I like about this drama because I hate watching triangle love drama that involves in family. I would recommend this drama for those people who hate watching triangle love, and not just like this as a drama but for people who love Shin Hae, her acting has always impress me, seeing her from Mr. Queen and this drama she definitely can play any roles not just as an funny role but she has a strong character trait when she plays it. Her acting just keep amazing me every time and watching Yang Se Jong reminded me so much of Go Kyung Pyo, they resemble so much.

The same drama in which you will be sad and happy at the same time.

My first viewing, like the second, was several years ago. But I will leave a review for this drama anyway.

The first time I watched it, I stopped watching for a while and then came back.
But it's worth watching to the end. Good ending.

I am glad that those who deserved happiness found their family and support. This kdrama shows both the past and the future at the same time and connects our characters, who lost their connection without meeting. After a large number of years, they will meet again and will no longer be the same ...or rather the main character. They will undergo a great test of their memory to regain and gain happiness. Writing about a happy ending, they got it like that.

In conclusion, if you like drama and comedy at the same time - then this is not a bad choice for you. The actors are also recognizable and emotional. The choice of whether to watch again is yours.

Have a nice viewing :)

A feel good sweet coming of age romcom

Thirty but seventeen has the perfect recipe, it balances family / slice of life / romcom and even melo very well. It has its fair share of feel good moments, strong uplifting messages, emotional plots, hilarious interactions, not to forget ""CUTENESS ALERT.""..almost all the characters are an extra extra dose of cute.

The plot features a beautifuly balanced recipe of romance, comedy and melo all set to a background of a coming of age story, whether it be our heroine's belated awkward coming of age, our hero's emotional and psychological coming of age, or our sweet nephew-nim's literal coming of age.
The drama will bring you to tears constantly, both from crying and laughing.
I loved the relationship between the main characters and felt the way it developed and each respective character grew up in front of our eyes was very realistic and hearfelt.
I always appreciate a drama that makes me fall in love with its characters and wish they truely existed so I could make their acquaintance, and Thirty but Seventeen not only made me fall for its leads but nearly all the side characters. That was thanks to the fun and witty interactions, the heartfelt and sweet script, the strong on-screen chemistry, aided by a strong and believable performance from all, not just our main trio, but also their "kaseifu no mita"-esque housemaid Jennifer.
I appreciated that the romance here did not suffer from the common tropes of Kdramas, like love triangles (we only have hints nothing major with lingering repercussions like other dramas), or noble idiocy (there were certainly moments it nearly felt like we were heading that dark road only to be delighted by a sweet turn of events or a moment of truth). Above all, I loved how every one spoke their minds and didn't act like total idiots when it came to their feelings, even if that meant replying to "why do you look at me like that?" With "I don't know, me either". We watched our main leads achieve psychological growth and flourish emotionally through their relationships with each other and their "family". Any slight sense of slowness in the romance plot in the first half felt accounted for and explained, because we've come to understand the characters, and their mutual feelings of respect and consideration.
The acting was great by all the cast, it was my first drama for the male lead, and I hope it won't be my last. I totally loved him in this character.
The music was sweet, and the classical tracks were as expected played well and fitted the mood. I also liked the sound effects (like an air horn, a cicada etc), which were perfectly utilized to maximize the effect of certain moments especially comedic ones.
Rewatch value is high, I feel like I might be coming back for a dose of cuteness sometime in the future.

This was a fun and enjoyable ride which I couldn't pause once I started. I definitely recommend to all regardless of your favorite genre, because I for one have been watching too many dramas of dark-ish and heavy plots which are mostly my favorite genres, and was craving a feel good and fun watch, and this drama was certainly the perfect choice.

i loved every actor and character , that's rare !

almost perfect , almost
one less star for forgetting lee ri an , she deserved her love to be fulfilled with chan , pretty sad about that.
another less star for the doctors plot , literally useless , there was no need for any of it , glad it just took a couple minutes here and there throughout the whole drama.
other than that everyone was a genuinely good person , i loved every single actor and character , that never happened , specially jennifer , i want a drama just for herself !
also didn't like the writters for blaming the driver , why blame anyone even , accidents happen without the need to have someone making a mistake , as soon as i heard he paid for the bills i prayed for jennifer to meet him and fall in love and that both can be cured , but i guess the writters had to blame him roght after , sad but realistic i guess
anyways , "don't shit , pee !"

A great drama that failed to honour one character

They should have had Chan acknowledge his classmate's feelings towards him. She showed up whenever she was supposed to, as a partner is expected to.

His races? She was there.
His practice sessions? She was there.
He needs hyping up? She was the loudest cheering him.
His friend is in need of clothes? She showed up with the best collection, even though she stole her sisters clothes but she WAS THERE. Yes she got a bit jealous but who wouldn't? She wasn't even toxic towards FL.
He won the medal? She was hanging banner on the school gate.

Leaving her feelings unacknowledged was such a weak ending for this drama that it almost hurt me.

Heartwarming

An enjoyable watch from beginning to end. This drama gives warm family feels with a puzzle piecing plot. As you go along the writer gives you the story piece by piece.

All the characters are likable/lovable. The sincerity of the ML and FL touch your heart, but you will also find many humorous moments to give a good balance.

This was my first plunge into watching a Korean drama. Thanks to a friend’s recommendation it was a good one. I love a feel-good drama, so I give this a high rating.

Make sure to watch past the first few episodes. It gets better as it goes along.

Great concept drama

I ended up liking this drama a lot. There seems to be no rush with the Korean drama ‘Thirty, But Seventeen’. The storyline, while being somewhat complicated, creeps along very slowly. It is about a violin prodigy who is in a horrific bus accident at the age of 17, which puts her in a coma for 13 years before she wakes up. Life moved forward in time, but she did not. I found that I did not get fully invested in the characters till past the fifth hour (or tenth episode) of the standard episodes (Each episode was 30 minutes for this drama. An hour of drama time was two episodes). The slower pace will appeal to those who like great character building. The Romance is terminally paced slowly as well. This is in keeping with the natural build up of the drama character, an eccentric, off-putting loner Male Lead who suffers from PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome) and a Female Lead who has been in a coma for 13 years. She skips over from a world where she was seventeen to a world where she is now thirty. I will say that once I was invested the slow pace did not bother me at all.

There is great acting in Thirty, But Seventeen, and two of the oddest characters emerge. The young curmudgeon Gong Woo Jin was perfectly played by Yang Se Jong. He nailed his portrayal and reaped the benefits by winning three post production acting awards for his efforts. Another character that was an oddity was the monotone speaking house servant, Jennifer, played by Ye Ji Won. She will be added to my list of most unusual characters in a Korean drama.

Shin Hae Sun as Woo Seo Ri and Yang Se Jong as Gong Woo Jin

Shin Hae Sun (Mr Queen) gives a great performance as the thirty year old teen Woo Seo Ri. Ahn Hyo Seop from Business Proposal was truly a standout as Yoo Chan. Most will love his portrayal of a teen falling in love for the first time. Some will fall victim to Second Lead Syndrome.

Ahn Hyo Seop as Yoo Chan

The slow character building did not hinder the story, powered with lots of flashbacks, which were very consistent and congruent with the future/present story. The many characters tell their individual stories, which all converge neatly in episode 28, where all questions are answered.
