This is an excellent, clever drama!

The plot is a typical spy/romance story but the twists and turns kept me hooked right up to the end. There are parts where I just thought... "What the heck just happened?"

The actors did a very good job, especially the handsome and talented Lee Jun Ki, the only reason why I started watching this drama in the first place; he really did an excellent job here.

The music varied from rap to classic, and an essential part of the drama.

Rewatch value is also 10 because after I finished watching this drama the first time, I said to myself, "that was excellent!" and felt the need to watch it again immediately, in case I was wrong, i wasn't!

I started to watch this after I seen him in Joseon Gunman. His acting is brilliant! This guy can portray any character and do a brilliant job. This drama was so emotional. I love how he gets into a vengeful character, he has this dark and yet beautiful side to him.

This is a spectacular action, suspense drama. Lee Jun Ki, Nam Sang Mi and Jung Kyung Ho make up an amazing cast of characters. Lee Jun Ki's acting is at an all time best. His portrayal of his character's suffering really leaves an impression. This was one of those breakout roles for the flower boy actor. I would recommend this drama for anyone that like heavy action dramas.

Time between Dog and Wolf may have been one of the most thrilling Korean series I have watched so far. A great story of a son wanting his revenge for the death of his parents, but got caught up in several issues making it harder for him to actually carry on with his plans. It may not have been the most unique story out there, but the producers managed to write it in such a way that it was very thrilling, yet dramatic to a level that it became unique itself. It even had a few surprises in store, which I did not see coming at all. On top of that, I especially enjoyed the couple Ji Woo (Nam Sang Mi) and Soo Hyun (Lee Joon Gi), which did act up to their standards with great supporting actors to back them up and loved the never endless story between both of them. Considering the Music, I would say that it was nicely written.

A Greek tale, told in Korean

This particular serial is an old one, and the production value is clearly dated. Yet the power of this serial is so strong that it is impossible to ignore it. The story, the acting, the editing and the direction more than make up for the age of this serial.
Many have spoken of the outstanding job done by Lee Joon Gi. Being a die-hard fan of JLG, I will not go there yet lest I do not stop!
The beauty of this story is that it is more than a revenge story. It speaks to the complexity of human relationships that your dire enemy can potentially be your cherished friend, if you did not know their past, that your most cherished relationship can be with your mortal enemy. These and other questions make this story telling so different and so outstanding.
As usual, any great Kdrama depends on its myriad characters to truly make it shine. This one is no exception. The combination of a fantastic female lead, a supporting male lead, and a truly bad ass Mr Jekyll and Mr Hyde persona of the male lead (led by the inimitable Lee Joon Gi) makes this a cut above the rest. The bromance of the two male leads is a delight in itself. Their relationship really shone, and grew with a tacit understanding all the way through the twists and turns. The romance was suitably red hot. LJG played two very different personalities and the romance was a constant through it all. Watching the female lead react to both of these very different personalities but be drawn deeply to both was wonderful.
In the end, I and many others would have appreciated a little more of that bromance and romance if possible.
However, perhaps the most interesting relationship was between the male lead and the villain of the piece. The villain was beautifully played by Choi Jae Sung; larger than life, complex and layered. The interplay of the two personalities with the villain was brilliant and even in the end, the denouement underscored the pathos of the situation.
It is reminiscent of a Greek play, with its themes of the vagaries of fate and man’s constant attempt to make sense of destiny. Highly recommended.

The plot of this drama is really compelling. It's the main driving force.

Bromance
The boys made me smile so hard. They had such great chemistry as mates with Min Gi always putting a smile on Soo Hyun's face. They're the kind of personalities that probably would've never been friends if they hadn't be thrown together when they were young.

Min Gi
Min Gi plays around a lot. His character made me nervous due to his immaturity. But he's not too bad. He really cares for Soo Hyun. And he's not as stupid as he looks. I liked what the drama did to give him levity to his character.

Soo Hyun
This guy is such a sombre character. He can kick some serious ass. He is such a tortured character. In the second half, it is nice to see him smiling all the time but not for the reason that you'd expect.
I do appreciate that he did wrong things. Considering he's working amongst the underworld, it is only realistic.
His character really changes throughout the drama as the ups and downs of his work really drag him around emotionally.

Ji Woo
This girl kind of annoyed me but not for the usual reasons. I mean, she's not a dramatic character, I guess she just lacked personality. She was just a nice person who just there.

Fashion
Even though this is a bit of an older drama. I was relieved to see that I didn't find the hairstyles distracting or offensive. Haha.
On a random note, the heroine wears some pretty low-cut dresses for a Kdrama.

This drama still holds up after 10 years!  Writing this review in 2017.

Obviously don't expect the same levels of cinematography and production value since this is a drama from 2007.  Technology is also dated.

Plot is well-paced.  Nowadays the plot is usually very fast moving.  In a way, it's nice to watch a story that develops at a reasonable pace.   Enjoy this like an aged wine.

Lee Jun Ki's acting is on point.  I thought his acting was ok, until halfway through, when something happens and he takes on new personas.  And then, I was pleasantly surprised!

The relationship between Mao and Kay is interesting in this.  Father-son relationships  (even the adoptive, pseudo kind) are always more intriguing than brotherly relationships.

The female lead's storyline is a bit annoying, especially in the last few episodes.  The bromances in this drama could have been further explored, but wasn't, probably at the expense of poor writing.

All in all, an enjoyable watch!

I started watching this drama because of Lee Jun Ki. His acting is great and I loved him in Iljimae.

I really loved the cast, roles, emotions that were portrayed. A touching drama. I was touched by the storyline first, that's the reason why I watched it. The drama was very good, the ending was a good one, but I was hoping for season two to see what what happened in the future.

It's really good drama. Hmm... Even more then good. I love detective stories with comedian and, of cource, romantic parts. However, I can't give the famous 5 stars, because there is the same thread again: 'me, it's not me', the same like in Green Rose. Dear Korea! I know you have more creativity. As to cast, Lee Jun Gi charmed me the most... his eyes... I've not seen him in any other production earlier, I think he is the good actor. Ahhh.. and this beautiful Thailand! Anyway... I recommend it!

"Nightfall...All things become stained red. There beyond that hill, approaches a silhouette of a dog that i raised or a wolf ready to harm me.A time when that is indistinguishable. It is the time when both good and evil can only be red."

"Time Between Dog and Wolf" were kind of epic to watch and i hugged my pillow many times. This series is full of tensions, enemies, secrets, mysterys, questions, deaths, twisted fates and passionate characters ready to destroy everything for the ones they love.Lee Joon-gi,Sang-mi and Kyung-ho did great performances and played incredible characters. My favourite part is when Soo-hyun gets amnesia and becomes the arrogant badass Kay,gosh how i love the scenes between him and his boss daughter Ji-woo.

Oldie, but a goldie

Rather older kdrama, but definitely worth watching. I watched it for Lee Joon Gi, but I didn't regret it at all and I was glad, that I got to watch such an interesting story and indeed a good drama. The story is very well made, the actors did a very good job as well, the chemistry between the main leads was great, could add some more scenes for them though. The music is very good also and you really guess what could happen in every episode and you would be surprised numerous of time, in the process. The ending is very good as well, even if some would expect something little different. Recommend!

Stands the test of Time

Even though this was released in 2007, it was WELL ahead of its time, and that's why it doesn't feel dated. There are dramas that will always be deemed as classics and they stand the test of time. Time Between Dog and Wolf is one classic. Cain and Abel is another. I could list them all, but...

I watched this 3 times after I checked the DVD out from my local library back in 2008. How this Korean drama was slipped into the mix at a small town library, I'll never know, but it was THE drama that started me on the journey away from watching anything that came out of "Hollywood".

Some have said the ending doesn't make sense. Yes, it does. It makes perfect sense, and is a perfect ending.
