A spy drama right from the start
"Time between Dog and Wolf" is a KDrama from 2007. But don't worry, the series still knows how to grip today. (I don´t even dare to imagine what a terrific spectacle the KDrama would be, if it would come along in the style of 2020 KDrama cinematography...)The story starts - as so often back then - with the childhood days, e.g. the small and big traumata from that time. The entanglements are laid out and there's a lot in it Makjang-wise. However, it is not your typical makjang, The story is exciting, has a good pace and the shadowed complexity makes it difficult to see through. "Time between Dog and Wolf" is a spy drama right from the start and leaves hardly anything out.
The title sums it up quite well. Actually, this refers to the Latin metaphor "Inter Canem et Lupum" - between dog and wolf. In the evening twilight it is difficult to distinguish, so to speak, whether a wolf or a dog is standing in front of you, although you can just about make out that it will be one or the other. It's not pitch black yet.
However, this expression does not only refer to the twilight, but also contains another metaphorical allusion: This is the time when the wolf goes hunting and the dog seeks its bed... Who stands before me, though? Can I trust?
Thus the 16 episodes consistently maintain their twilight... Wolves (mainly) and dogs (a few) cross paths. Sniff each other. Fight each other. Join together to form a pack. Are hunted and hunt. Give themselves away. Make up for it. The one. The other. And others again. On top of all that, love puts plenty of salt into the wounds.
Ultimately, the symbol is even suitable for this KDrama in a third respect. In addition to the topics 'distrust/deceit', 'hunter/hunted', there is also the fact that both dogs and wolves are extremely social pack animals...
This is a KDrama that has a lot to offer in terms of exciting and moving entertainment. Lee Joon-gi shows edge here even at his younger age. But all of them express their emotions with some intensity. This does not go bye unnoticed.
The fact that a considerable part of the action takes place in Thailand also brings unexpected exoticism into the scene, which doesn't hurt.

Story: it was great. It never make me stop watching or bored. When i thought story is over, It always make me shocked by its turn overs. It has everything spies, revenge and cold-blooded,handsome man:D
Cast: Lee Jun Ki ( This was the first drama that i saw him) , Nam Sang Mi, Jung Kyong Ho ultimate trio:) the atmosphere between them is so good that you can't stop watching. Especially Lee Jun ki's acting make you bewildered,it likes in one drama he has many characters.
Music: It has a range from rap to classics and none of them unnecessary for drama.
Rewatch value: definitely i will watch tihs over and over again. It is certain that i will find many other things while rewatching:)
If you like action and revenge you must watch this drama. You will never regret:)

The show’s strengths though have the unfortunate effect of making its flaws more glaring. Believable characters are wonderful until they’re suddenly asked by the script to act in completely unbelievable ways around the show’s midpoint. The logic gaps are jarring, but the bigger issue is the show’s ambivalence about what to do with its antiheroes. On one level, it wants us to feel the horror of its characters’ violent choices, but it also revels in the cool swagger of its pretty boys with guns. Forgiveness and understanding for their “lapses” come a bit too easily, undermining the impact of the story’s darker moments. The ending reflects this, with a rushed conclusion that tries to be simultaneously tragic and redemptive but falls short of both as it dodges the more unruly moral elephants in the room. If you’re content with a stylish action thriller, it’s an entertaining watch, but it’s frustrating because it comes close to being so much more.

A complex story (i guess they written the whole synopsis before start filming), deep, sad. The characters' psychology is really well done. The actors match pretty well their roles, and they play really well. Mention to Lee Jun Ki. I thaught he was nothing but a "cute face", but bloody hell, he sweats, he bleeds, he screams, he cries, he laughes, and you're with him, you feel what he shows.
I spent the 16 episodes with a node in my stomach. There is no timeout, no unnecessary rebounds, no flashbacks of what you watched 5 minutes ago, no easy feelings.
Really a masterpiece,

In Short: A thrilling ride. Wish it included more bromance in the end. These brothers seem to have forgotten that they were best friends.
Pros: Suspenseful and action packed with complex characters.
Cons: Some plot holes. And I do wish the great bromance that we started out with could have been carried through. Does not seem likely that a person would not recognize his own brother when directly at him from short distance.

I always want to watch this drama since like forever but i am busy with life, i don't have time.. Even though Lee Joon Gi is in it, and i also thought it's an ancient drama, probably the directing, budget, editing, special effect etc are not good enough to entertain me.. Then i watched healer, city hunter and cruel city, when i know dr. son in cruel city also played TBDAW, i was like, ok this is the time for me to watch both my favorite actors, Lee Joon Gi and Kyung Ho.. When can i have the chance to watch them both?? hahaha And IT BLEW MY MIND!!! Forget about the fashion, style, haircut, editing, low budget, directing etc when the writer and actors are damn good, everything else is nothing and no problem at all!
Now i know where healer, cityhunter, K2 and cruel city take inspiration from, probably from this show since it's an old show.. and maybe also from internal affair movies hahaha... After i watched this, everything else included city hunter becomes so pale in comparison..
The twist in TBDAW is so good and it's not messy. It's logical and rational too, the cause and the problems all real, i haven't watched all lee joon gi's drama and movies but i guess, this is his best drama so far that i have watched. He is also very handsome in this drama, he was still young :D the action is good, i mean all the fighting moves from him are real and natural. Even my husband said that Joon Gi action style is much much better than Ji Chang Wook action scene in healer, he said that ji Chang Wook is too stiff for action scene, of course Lee Joon Gi is better in action coz he is a taekwondo black belt himself, so his moves are just natural and flexible.. He also never has a double to do stunts for him, I know that i am so biased towards him, but he really makes the lead character real.. Imagine how difficult it is to do action scene.. he is an energizer bunny
I need to mention the acting again, it's so god damn good!!!! Joon Gi and Kyung Ho and even the villain, gosh! I hope more kdramas like this, really follow logical plot like this, it's well written. I cannot hate the villain in this drama coz it's only the matter of perspective. His 50 shades of grey is really interesting, i hope this serial have more episodes to talk about the villain character..
Music is quite old since it's an old show anyway.. So it's kinda outdated and weird hahaha but again, it did not distract me while watching it coz i was too focused on the story..
The ending is also good and satisfying for me, there is no tragedy.
Overall, i marathon this for 2 day since today is holiday for me.. I totally have forgotten the time while watching this, suddenly i have watched so many episodes hahaha
Definitely a must watch!

Lee Jun Ki is just breathtaking in this. Not only in the looks department but his acting skills really shine. He is such a talented actor who can successfully portray a vast amount of emotions throughout and pulls it off effortlessly. Plus, we get to see his fighting skills too, in this and every action scene was intense and kept me on the edge of my seat.
I think the best thing about this drama, besides Lee Jun Ki as the lead, is the theme. It's not just your typical revenge drama. Not only does it take one of the biggest cliches in Asian drama and make it totally awesome that it's a serious part of the plot, it actually delves deep and confronts the moral aspects and dilemmas of seeking revenge.
The very, very best thing, though? (Again apart from Lee Jun Ki as the lead) It keeps you guessing. You may think you've figured something out, or expected a certain outcome, and instead, you get handed a surprise that you totally didn't expect.
I very highly recommend this drama to people. In fact, if you haven't seen it, stop what you're doing right now and start watching this drama! You will not regret it.
