Enemies to lovers type of kdrama

Honestly, for me It's totally worth it, I really enjoyed this kdrama. If you are that type of kdrama watcher that just wants a normal kdrama that doesn't have that much problems... well you've come to the right place. :)

I know this is somehow cliche but it's worth the shot...

I really love their acting and all. WELL...............................................................................................

you will get a little bit of a second hand embarrassment. (umm.. not little actually or... nvm)

His pride & arrogance and Her prejudice

This drama was filmed back in 2018 and only aired this year in 2021. It seemed funny in some of the trailers so I gave it a go.

Initial first few episodes were giving me angst- the ML Hoo Joon (the celebrity) was kind of a jerk and very two-faced. The FL Lee Geun Young (the reporter) was a whimp- being bullied by her boss and colleagues, couldn’t stand up for herself and was a pushover. They crossed paths because of a misunderstanding, which led to them doing a reality tv show together. I like the theme of enemies-to-lovers but I’m not sure when the shift actually happened in this series :P It started to get more interesting probably after episode 5, where he was showing interest in her, although there were still feuds and misunderstandings.

Their love story and relationship development got better and I liked it up till the last two episodes. I just couldn’t understand why he had to distance himself when he was in trouble and only come back as a success? Why couldn’t they go through hardships together? And it wasn’t clear how he came back popular again in just 3 months? And why is it when the artists gets into trouble, he has to pay the price and not the agency? After all, it’s the agency that manages his profile, schedule, gigs etc... they are as much to blame. Yeah the last episode was rushed to wrap up. I did enjoy the scene on the beach where they filmed the last episode of the reality show- that was really sweet.

Could not stand the SML Jae- Joon and SFL In-Hyung. Throughout the entire series it was just jealousy, drama, bitterness, couldn’t let go/ move on... it was beyond ridiculous. Almost every scene with JJ was him bickering or crying or whining. I skipped most of their scenes. The friendship between the 3 trainees also didn’t really make sense.

OST was not bad, although they played Choi Tae Jon’s song Bittersweet probably a tad too much lol. But he looks really good here so keep watching if not for anything but his visuals. 💕 I read that he just finished his military service and he’s dating Park Shin Hye 😉

As someone who watched the movie version before watching this...

I started watching this series with great expectations since i have watched and really liked the movie version of this series....most of the times when movies are remade into series, it gets boring because of repititions and dragging of the storyline...but, this is not one of those ....though i have watched the movie already the series made me wait eagerly for the following episodes...it has made justice to the original plot....the cast, production , direction all were good...if i have to say a negative point, it would have been better with more osts....

I dont understand why this drama is so underrated. I know the story is quite cliché ( enemies to lovers story ) but you had no idea who I love this drama so much hihi. But first of all I want to say that the female character is quite annoying sometimes when she's not fighting back for herself when someone is bullying her, I'm a big fan of female empowerment so i don't want to see a weak girl who let other's touch her but gladly here's the male heroine who will save her lmao haha ikr it's quite cliché but you'll gonna love it. I love the humor, the ost is good to and THEIR CHEMISTRY IS 😭❣️ HUHU I LOVE IT!

Fanfic material but an okay watch

I was not expecting a masterpiece so it I enjoyed it for what it is.

The story is a typical wattpad or fanfic material. I feel like I've read this kind of plot over and over already. That being said, the story was not novel for me but I liked this kind of cheese and trope so I consumed this one with gusto. At first, I was hesitant with the main leads' chemistry. Probably because at the first few episodes neither one of them is actually likable. But if you actually gave it a chance, the character growth is fantastic.

Sooyoung and Tae Joon did well although I think even rookie actors could've done this show too. After the initial unlikability of both HJ and GY, I was always smiling when I see them both on-screen. I am convinced of their chemistry and love story. I also didn't care for the other characters in this show (well I liked JJ in the beginning - so much potential in his character that got wasted). The "past" was an overdue arc that I stopped caring for it halfway through the show. I only really liked the relationship build-up between the main leads. I feel like we were robbed of more moments with the two of them. Give me more HJ and GY lovey dovey moments. They should've just focused on the love story instead. Lots of unnecessary plots in there that the writer decided to stop caring midway.

I liked the songs used in this show albeit a bit overplayed but that's not an issue for me because Kdramas tend to overuse their OSTs. Pity though because they could've put more songs in there considering the main character is supposedly an idol.

Overall, it's an okay show to pass time. If you want to watch something with a grand plot and more substance, this show is not for you.

Fine Cliche Light-Hearted Drama

Honestly, there is nothing much to review as what the headline is it has a common plot. If you want a break or are yearning to watch a jocund drama then I recommend this.

The OST was also great! Until now it keeps playing in my head ☺️ And the chemistry was satisfactory.

The cons are that I was disappointed at one scene's editing but overall it is great. And personally, I did not like how Geun-Young — the character was made, as what I have seen I felt that her effort in their relationship was lacking which made me displeased.

After watching this, I pondered and wished that the audience who have seen or will see this drama realize that an idol is also like every other people that have their own life. I wished that the fans will refrain from being over possessive and just wish all the best for their idols.

This was a cute storyline. The storyline was pretty harsh, I wished it was a little longer because a story needed to be told especially toward the end of it. I felt it left me incomplete during episodes 12-14. It's like the screenwriter got tired of writing and just wanted to end it. The main actors/actresses and supporting actors gave it their all. I thank them for that. I loved their costumes and wow that one outfit that was on the main actress... wow... that would sell out! I know somebody is trying to make it. That black and white long suede or leather coat that was worn by the main actor... was awesome! I won't expand my thoughts any further just want to thank the whole crew for their participation in this film.

Nonsense at some points

I was attracted to this drama because of its plot: an anti-fan getting married to an idol sounded like something new and fresh to me. Plus, I admit that I was also in because of the main female actress, which I have recently seen in "Run on".
At first I was happy with everythimg; There were missing parts which I didn't understant but I was at the very beginning, so I thought it was going to get better after a while. I was deeply mistaken. There are plot holes everywhere. And the story keeps going round and round in circles without any explanation about what happened in the past.

I must confess that I kept on watching it because of the actors. I really believe that all of them acted very well. I couldn't stop laughing at some points with the female's expressions and faces or crying with JJ and his problems (and he has got a lot of them).

When it comes to the music, I was expecting more. This drama involves an idol, so I was waiting for it to have more songs. But no. It has got only one or two, which seems extremly poor to me.

All in all, this is a cute cliché drama where you have fun but that's all. There are a lot of holes in the story. For exemple (SPOILER): What happens with the sibling relationship? We only see the big brother asking the driver about his relationship with his ypunger brother. That's all. No solution. What happens with the mother-son relationship? The main lead struggles and suffers during all the drama and... Surprise! Nothing happens between he and his mother. The second female, suddenly, decides to help JJ and falls in love with him.
Really? I mean, it wasn't the best drama, but it could have had a better solution for all those things (well, a better... I must say it should have had a solution).

Just a drama to have some fun and to despair yourself at some points.

BTW: Sorry if my English is not good! Hope you understant it.

Good drama

Starting is little bore but when the drama reach to end , I get little connect with characters , how much pressure a star face . Though they got their dreams but they loss their fredom . They become some what robot whose remote in the hand of president of the production house , he not aloud to his phone , new phone provide by company ,what to eat , what to wear , always live in hide , calculative speak among the people , everything is just under control . In so much pressure they are living with secondly if you not get success so how people react with you , how you become. Unknown .
Everything is well when ends well. So 10 points. Star has right to live their live according to their will and they can manage their personal and professional life . Last scene has shown this.
Good Drama

Great premise, poor delivery

The premise of the show is really interesting, and the 1st episode can really hook you in to want to know how thing are gonna develop.

A lot of episodes were really funny, specially in the beginning with the filming of the reality show.
While having most (if not all) the "feel good" k-dramas clichés that we all wait for and love, they did managed avoided some extreme obvious clichés, and I quite enjoyed that.

Best characters by faaaaar: Screenwriter No Do-Yoon hahahaha she's amazing, and whenever she showed up on screen, I knew something good was coming. Director Han Jae-Won was also great, and I love their interactions. They both got their happy ending, and No Do-Yoon's has to be the cutest one I've seen in a while.

To me the biggest problem with the show is character development, or to be more precise, the lack of.
Both main leads didn't had ANY character development. From the first episode, to the last, they all behaved the same, and not for a lack of opportunity.
1FL is too passive, and never learns to stand up for herself. I like how empathetic she is, but nobody learns anything from her, so it feels like lost potential.
1ML has a "savior complex" that is really annoying. They make him to be this tormented guy for things that are not even real, or don't make any sense.
2FL was unbearable(!!!), the actress is super cute, but the character is so selfish and so egocentric, it had to be Stockholm Syndrome to make them like her.
2ML had a really good dynamic with 1FL, and even though cliché and very very dramatic (boy could go straight into doing telenovelas in Mexico), I can't say that I didn't hoped he got his happy ending.

Then, they rushed the last 2 episodes to make the standard happy ending: side characters who were "bad/mean" apologising, time jump to "develop" the lead, etc. But it felt really forced, with some characters going full 180, and some not even having a reason to do anything except "honour".

Overall, it's a bit above average, some interactions made it worthwhile to watch, but I felt the pace of the show was poorly managed. A lot of moments wasted repeating the same things, and a LOT of things towards the end was rushed or straight up not explained at all.

Unique twist on famous and "ordinary" - I thought it was cute

9.5/10 is my rating. This is a 2021 South Korean romantic comedy with 16, 60 minute episodes

Reporter Lee Geun-young (Choi Soo-young) does not realize just how bad her night can get when she sets out to get a story on a top star. After meeting her boyfriend for what was supposed to be a romantic evening but turns out to be a birds eye view of his cheating romance with a man, a series of events leads her to getting on the bad side of top star, Hoo Joon (Choi Tae-joon). Forgetting how powerful and influential his opinion can be, Hoo Joon gets Geun-young fired. With a lot of time on her hands Geun-young sets out to let everyone know this not so charming side of Hoo Joon and proclaims herself his anti fan. A reality show finds the animosity of the two intriguing and a show is developed around this anti fan marrying the top star and the two living together. During filming both pretend to get along but when they think the cameras are off - the true hilarity begins. Can two people who got off to such a rough start learn the true nature of the other and will this anti-van become a convert?

*spoiler alert. I wondered how this could be depicted in a believable way that they would be in contact enough that they would get married. As I watched it and discovered how and why she became his anti-fan and that they were not really married but that was the premise of the reality show - it made a lot more sense. The romance that developed between the two was perfectly paced and very believable. The "side couples" those romances were not very interesting. The show editor/producers alluded to a connection they had before and that they were reunited in the making of the reality show. So they seemed to "fall into" a romance rather quickly and, since we did not see it develop, I had little interest in their connection. Those relationships could have been left out and would not have been missed. I think she had a talent for acting so it would have been nice to see her product after the reality show ended. I wanted to see her succeed. I enjoyed this start to finish and highly recommend it.

What a cute drama!

It's just a simple drama but even though it was simple, it makes my heart flutter and my face smile for the whole day. This story makes me thinking too much. This drama reminds me of Lee Sung Min from Super Junior. In this drama, the lead actor are not allow to be in relationship with the female lead because this will give bad effects on the reputation. So I'm thinking. Maybe this was similar with the reality that Sung Min had to face when all the Super Junior fans making petition to 'kick' him from his group.

Ok. Let's go back on the story. I love all the character in this drama especially Ms No and her boyfriend. They are fully and romantic also. And I pitied to JJ and Oh In Young.

Anyway, don't be stress because finally the ending was still happy and romantic! I also had download the soundtracks into my phone. See? How diligent i am.

ok. Enjoy watching!
