When I watched the trailer, I thought that could be a bad movie, with a lot discrepancies between the believes and the catholic religion, and also I didn't liked watch to Park Seo Jeon as priest and a fighter, that's give me a bad feeling.
But the temptation was a lot, so, I decided saw it and.... WAS ONE OF THE BEST MOVIES, could be my second favorite after The Priest.
How they show the messages of God, how the role of Park live the same things that all the Catholics suffer, because we don't understand why God do what He do; and later, how God gives to Yong Hoo a power, not for he comeback to the church, but to heal his heart from all the hate and remember him that perhaps our loved ones not are present in body, but if in our hearts, and always they are with us.
This movie show perfect, that the agnostics don't exist, all believe in God, just don't like that He didn’t do what they wanted.

The acting is excellent
The cast and the phenomenal acting by the entire cast elevates this movie from just ok to a solid 3 stars for me. I wish there had been a more complete story but alas, there is not. We get the makings of a good story of a man learning to have faith again after the tragic death of his father as a child after already having lost his mother when she gave birth to him. He blames God and has essentially decided he has no need for Him or his faithful.The story was rushed towards the end. The ending also implied that a sequel was forthcoming and maybe that's why the story feels incomplete. There were some genuinely good dialogue between Yong Hoo and Father Ahn. And it was believable that Yong Hoo would become fond of him even with his feelings about God.
The last fight scene was choreographed really well. PSJ should be in way more action flicks. Looking forward to seeing him on the Ms. Marvel sequel.
The worst part of the movie was the special effects. I think they could have been done a lot better. The fire looked fake.

I don't care about other opinions
I came into this movie with the feeling that the rating gave me that it was going to be like a 7-star watch but that didn't happen. What I must say 1. I had to watch it in 3 blocks for personal reasons (we were going with my family to a briefing),2. The screen time of Woo Do Hwan was way too short for the main character. He was an important character in the story but they didn't show him that much. These two things are in my mind when criticizing this movie. But when it comes to the positive side it has an exciting plot (Christian boy who blames God for his father's death and who became an amateur exorcist), I liked the cast a lot, the acting was done perfectly, maybe it could have been a bit shorter but I am ok with 2 hours and some minutes.Was this review helpful to you?

Wow just wow, boxer psj is back and his fighting (and body) are still as hot es always, without much saying this Movie is a masterpiece and i want more.The acting is awesome, especially from the first demon guy we saw, wow i had goosebumps.
Also the villains of this movie is so hot it's no wonder he's a huge red flag.
Now I'm gonna cut short with a little tmi ? i actually bought the DVD of this movie at our local media store, ( i knew it before i bought the DVD) the only other movie where i did this was Parasite and Train to Busan.
So guys if you like psj, demons and some dark aesthetic watch this NOW

Nothing New or Phenomenol and a lot of wasted potential but still a Good Watch!
Let's start with the Acting. It is seriously so good! I just love every single actor's be it main or not in this. Also the Child actor he stole the show. Can find no faults in the characters at all. The budding relationship between the Priest and our MC is so sweet. You can see they mean a lot to one another and I wish we got to see more of it.As expected since this is movie instead of a Drama it feels rushed. The ending also if only this movie was longer with more exorcisms and a bigger trail to the main villain it would have been perfect.
One other problem I have about this story is that a subplot of the Hero getting haunted was not properly closed. I think they wanted to show more of it but was scrapped or something. That's how it felt like.
Most of the movie is wrapped up nicely I just feel like this movie needs a sequel or more hours for it feel complete.
The one thing I did love about the story is the Priest's complete belief in God and also how even though our Hero says he doesn't believe in God, it's not that simple. Our Hero is angry and sad that God didn't save his dad and the way he keeps coming to help the Priest with the exorcisms even though he keeps saying he doesn't believe in God shows he is a good person and hence why God chose him and gave him a way to help others.

Asian Daredevil, Constantine, Ghost Rider in one
For me, this one throws of a mixture of vibes; like the ML w/ a father figure who died while he was young (Daredevil), the exorcism part (Constantine), and the burning of evil souls (Ghost Rider).Not much with story plot. It's straight cut. No unusual twists and turns, not even a bit of mystery. Actors were great. Fight scenes were ok but the effects were way better. I wish a bit of romance was added to the story because it's just too dry for me. Boring.
Would I rewatch it, maybe not anytime soon.

Exorcism rules
I don't know why I watched this - I dislike horror as a genre and it needs to be exceptionally well made or innovative for me to enjoy. This was not exceptionally well made - but I know why I watched - Park Seo Joon Ssi!The plot was fairly standard. The only unusual element was the ML "atheism" which I enjoyed in so far as it existed at all.
The demon was OK if predictable - seemed very standard and actually pretty dull
The lighting budget was extremely low. That seemed very predictable too
None of the characters were well developed, and, while there were opportunities for psychological exploration they were not followed through. I think if there had been more exploration then the frankly manufactured fear could have become much stronger. None of the battles seemed real because they were kinda preplanned.
In addition, from the very start I thought it a shame that the "possessed" were depicted exactly as if having a particularly frightening schizophrenic episode which - before they were understood to be a mental illness and not the embodiment of evil - led to many desperately ill people being tortured by various church authorities (and this still happens in certain cultures). It made me deeply uncomfortable, and the writer/director could have done much better.
I watched this to the end, but frankly fast-forwarded a good 30% of it.
The good things - the acting was excellent from all involved. I thought the SFX were good. Some elements of the design were very pretty - PSJ's wardrobe for example, his car, his bike; the demon's bar looked pretty cool, and the logo was stylish. Trying hard here - hope you appreciate the effort.

Le combat du "bien" contre le "mal"
J’ai regardé ce film pour son genre horrifique & le fait qu’il s’agit d’exorcisme ^^ (Après, vu que j’ai vu pas mal de films/séries sur le sujet, il est vrai qu’il est rare qu’ils arrivent à se démarquer par rapport à leurs prédécesseurs.)Ce film est assez classique en soit, on retrouve un jeune homme qui ne croit pas en Dieu (enfin, qui se convainc qu’il ne croit pas en lui x’D) mais qui se retrouve avec un stigmate permettant de libérer les personnes possédées. Dans sa quête pour libérer la colère qu’il a envers Dieu, il rencontre un prêtre exorciste avec qui il se liera. Nous suivons donc le parcours de ce dernier afin de libérer Séoul du « Prêtre Noir » (ou prêtre sataniste ^^).
Vous l’aurez donc compris, il n’y a rien de bien original dans ce film. Le schéma est assez classique, seul le stigmate présent sur le héros change de ce que j’ai pu voir. (Assez glauque le stigmate d’ailleurs :o ! La plaie est vilaine et saigne les ¾ du film ^^’)
C’est un film qui n’est pas déplaisant à regarder. Cependant, si vous êtes fan du genre, ce dernier ne vous apportera rien de plus que ceux que vous avez déjà pu voir ^^.

Possession, exorcisme, démon, etc, tout ce qu'on aime !
Bon, si les démons vous effraient et si les exorcismes vous donnent des cauchemars, passez votre chemin! Mais si vous aimez les films de genre épouvante à condition qu’ils tiennent la route, voilà une vraie pépite !! Souvent ces films ne sont qu’une succession de scènes horrifiques et d’effets spéciaux sans rien derrière mais pas ici ! Ici, les personnages sont construits, leurs actes sont mus par une psychologie finement étudiée, particulièrement le personnage principal qui, au sens propre du mot, combattra à le fois le Démon et ses propres démons intérieurs, ceux que tout être humain peut avoir quand son enfance a été marquée par l’injustice d’un deuil inexplicable aux yeux d’un gamin. Les effets spéciaux sont parfaits et très bien dosés, n’arrivant qu’à bon escient et toujours justifiés. Les combat (le héros est un champion !) sont chorégraphiés et filmés à la perfection, la photo est superbe, la réalisation sans temps mort, mais sans excès de débordements. L’action va crescendo jusqu’au combat final que j’ai trouvé tout à fait impressionnant ! La beauté du héros Park Seo Jon n’a d’égal que celle du Démon Won Do Whan, un régal pour les yeux !Ce n’est que le 4è film du réalisateur, mais quelle maîtrise déjà ! La salle conquise a chaleureusement applaudi la fin du film et moi je me suis régalée !!
