I love how this drama is unlike many others with a damsel in distress in need of saving. The female lead's character is strong and Tang Jianan's (Wang Richard) silly character and the way he pulled it off is what makes this drama enjoyable for me. The side characters story line is actually good and I specially love Ah-Jiu when he gives a very big side-eye toward Tang Jianan whenever he becomes dramatic or narcissistic. I actually want to say more but I'd give a spoiler so I'll end it here.

Recommended? Definitely YES, if you like a stick-to-one male character, a female lead who is smart and do not let others walk over her, supportive side characters and a light-hearted romantic drama.

Re-watch value? I actually just finished it and will start a re-run once it's the weekends to just watch the sweet moments of our main characters.

That's all I hope you can find this review useful <3

Initially, this drama felt like a breath of fresh air. It's very different from any Chinese drama I've watched that's set in modern day. The female lead is so mysterious and composed, and I was compelled to watch due to curiosity rather than any investment in the main couple. Individually they are both nice characters, their relationship is sweet, but I didn't feel like they had any chemistry. I wanted answers about her identity and past, and ultimately found the storyline disappointing and too simple. The last few episodes felt rushed and irrational. However, there were many moments that made me laugh out loud and some fun side characters (A Jiu, Er Yang).

After finishing three c dramas in a row I was searching for something different and I came across this drama I don't know why people are criticizing this drama soo much but this is the bestest c drama I have watched soo far the YouTube subs are bit annoying but nothing that you can't understand the male lead and female lead's chemistry is just soo cute the male lead is soo soo cute and the female lead too is too cute and both of them had done a great job together. Gonna rewatch it for sure just for the lead couple .

Best Roles for Main Leads

I love the male lead---He's loyal, frank, kindhearted, egoist yet humble, and very humorous. I also love the female lead--- she's mysterious, strong, smart and yet so feminine.

I also loved the relationship between them. Wherein in other dramas, a third party or circumstances could tear them apart, this couple maintained their cool and tried to understand the other one instead of getting angry and sulking.

The only catch is that ending, seems like there's a need for season 2.?

This is not the worst thing I have ever seen from beginning to end, but it comes pretty close. If I look only at the main romance, then that's a decent 6/10 guilty pleasure with a minor twist, where the woman is the mysterious aloof one, not the other way around. The problem is that there is just too much padding. Later on there are episodes, where the main characters have less than 1 minute of screen time. Overall the part that I wanted to watch took up about 10% of the drama.
Even though the -extremely pretty- actors are okay in terms of acting skill, overall the characterization in the drama is just terribly bad. Most characters couldn't be any more 2 dimensional, I mean sure this is a fluff cdrama so I did not expect too much depth, however the writing is beyond terrible. Each storyline outside of the main romance and perhaps the hacker girl's stuff is dull, boring and uninspiring. The entire drama feels incredibly sloppy. It's like every second scene should have been reshot, but the director decided that it was "good enough" let's go home early today, which is a pretty big shame, considering that the production quality otherwise is quite good, they used high quality camera gear, hired a skilled cinematographer & the 2-3 original soundstracks were also up to standard.
There is also the issue of subtitles. The machine translated subs are enough to understand the story, but there are many fine nuances lost and there were times, when I couldn't make a sense of it.

I'm a bit baffled by some of the other reviews, perhaps ppl are just a bit too mesmerized by beauty? ^
If you are interested in watching a fluffy Chinese romcom look elsewhere. A Love So Beautiful, O2O, Put Your Head on My Shoulder are all infinitely better in almost every way.

Fall in Love with the leads!

This drama probably has two of c-dramalands best leads. They are interesting, fun, stuff happens around them and they most definitely create fireworks with the MLs great Playfulness and the Fls total coolness.. She is the perfect icicle, she is smart fun, humble, pretty, and even has some super powers! The ML is gorgeous! (But I knew that) he is this fun free spirit type of guy who shows great curiosity and even though he most definitely is a playboy is actually pretty respectful though he does need a lesson in turning the ladies down...

Most of the side characters are also fun, cool and all round a pleasure to watch...
All but well 2 people that got on my nerves for both bad acting and just plain annoying childish characters... And I will admit a few good characters actually regressed and had negative character development, dragging down the experience of this show as well as the score.

The drama is full of cliches, So if you do not like cliches then don't even try to watch this no matter how attractive the cast may be this is clic fest and well I love it... It has it all amnesia, kidnapping, power struggles, miss understandings. evil conniving SFL s that made my blood boil but did keep me interested most of the time.

This drama may not be what I would actually call good, and is far from a masterpiece but it is highly entertaining easy to binge and just plain fun to watch. But you may want to skip the scenes with the little sister...

Enjoyable

In my opinion this drama had a very fresh feeling to it. Although we have a few cliches here and there, like the annoying female character who is obsessed with our male lead and amnesia. We also have fresher things like for once making the female leads best friend support her not because he is in love with her but rather because they are like siblings, our female lead is very independent and for once she is also rich. Despite the happy but not enough ending i thoroughly enjoyed watching this drama. The leads relationship reminded me of the love O2O because they always trusted each other.
I also enjoyed the ost especially 心底的呼唤 Yin Ziyue/Chen Xueyan/Ro Rowan . I ended up adding it to my playlist.
I would recommend this drama if you want to see a refreshing story. Plus our actors did an amazing job.

She May Either Electrify or Electrocute You

This drama is refreshing, does not follow typical romcom plot. Instead of a cold man meeting a warm woman you get the other way around. Instead of a rich guy and a poor girl you get a rich guy and ..... (I cannot spoil you). Let me entice you with my own synopsis: The female lead Feng Ping has a supernatural power that is like a curse to her. It can cause harm to others under her negative feelings. To control that, she trains herself to be cold and aloof, detaching herself to other people's emotions. In several coincidences, she meets the male lead Jia Nan. A playboy, a celebrity, an actor, and comes from a rich family. Accustomed to women chasing him, Jia Nan is instantly attracted to Feng Ping who does not bat her eyelashes at him. Soon he proposes to her, and both enter a fake engagement with different reasons. Having covered her identity and tragic past tightly, Feng Ping becomes an object of intense spying and investigating from Jia Nan and people around him.

LIKES
(+) The drama gives us many secrets besides the main one (Feng Ping's identity). Starting slow that made me bored and almost dropped the drama, it picked up very well especially after the engagement. I binge-watched every episode afterwards, dying to know the secrets revealed.
(+) The drama tricks us into believing differently on Feng Ping's characters and intentions and reveals the facts little by little
(+) The drama intentionally keeps some secret until the end and never reveals them. Not necessary for the main plot though, just enticing.
(+) The drama keeps us entertaining on the pairings fate. We will not be sure of some of the couples, who ends up with who until the end of the drama
(+) Close knitted Tang family relationship
(+) Some scenes are so hilarious you may want to rewatch the scenes, such as Jia Nan and A Jiu's adventure in the countryside, Jun Hao watching the elevator with the security team
(+) Hilarious jealousy scenes of Jia Nan, since he cannot really ask Feng Ping or get mad at her due to their unique relationship. Instead he lashes on A Jiu, Jun Hao, or Yue Sheng.
(+) Unexpected last dates of Jia Nan and Feng Ping, not with each other but with different partners
(+) Cute final wedding scene
(+) All main and important supporting actors and actresses played their respective roles well.
(+) Actors are eye candies. Choose your own favorite one, lol.
(+) Great acting of actor Richard Wang as the delightful Jia Nan. I watched this drama following his great acting as multiple roles in The Eternal Love 1 and 2. I thought he should play as a main lead in another drama and I'm glad he did here.
(+) Great acting of actress Camille Hua as the mysterious Feng Ping. Some reviews/comments criticizing her bad acting but IMHO that is because of her cold, reserved, and detached woman. Her character growth especially her feelings for Jia Nan is a tsundere-type.
(+) Natural chemistry between Jia Nan and Feng Ping. Started as complete strangers, with Feng Ping being reserved with Jia Nan to avoid gossips and jealous fans. Though soon getting engaged and moved into his house, she wanted to maintained each other private lives. Their chemistry develop from friends to lovers slowly, probably they did not get together until the middle of the drama. Their friendship is sweet, being considerate to each other feelings, although not need to do that since they are in fake engagement.
(+) I am glad that they don't make the character Jun Hao, a long time best friend of Feng Ping has a one-sided love for her, like many drama cliche. I am glad that they make another story for him with Qiu Tian. Jun Hao character is too cute and childish
(+) Friendship and brotherhood of Jia Nan and A Jiu, IMHO even better than the chemistry between Jia Nan and Feng Ping. Especially the earlier friendship started since the beginning and the latter relationship is a slow burn.
(+) Great acting of actor Miles Wei as the invalid, depressed, lovelorn Hao Yun. He really looks like Chinese actor Hu Yi Tian from A Love So Beautiful. But IMHO Miles Wei acting is better. Hopefully I will see him in the future as a main lead of another drama.
(+) The character of A Jiu is so adorable as the cynical and down-to-earth Jia Nan's sidekick.
(+) The character Qiu Tian who is refreshing and completely different than other female roles makes a unique addition in this drama.
(+) Although character Lu Qiao is an antagonist, but IMHO actress Li Ruo Ning acted very good as the jealous, scheming and ambitious Lu Qiao.
(+) Nice OST, notably Call of the Heart (心底的呼喚) by Ro Rowan, Say it again (再谈记忆) by Penicillin, Special People (特殊的人) by Luo Zheng who plays as Jun Hao
(+) Great costumes

DISLIKES
(-) The English sub is autosub. Although we can understand the important issues and the storyline, it will be nice if it's well subbed to enjoy the conversation. Probably because the distributor company Youku main target is Chinese market so the company does not bother with international viewers. Unlike Tencent, for example, that also targets international market. Thus they usually sub their new dramas soon after airing the raw ones.
(-) Typical Cdrama, lots of dragging scenes and conversations.
(-) The coincidences meetings between Jia Nan and Feng Ping in the beginning of the drama feels like rushed and unrealistic, probably due to the story plot to 'engage' them early.
(-) Some scenes can have beautiful cinematography, but unfortunately they were not artfully done. For example the scene where Jia Nan saved Feng Ping during heavy rain in the night. There are other scenes with beautiful nature backdrops like the country side and the beach. It would be great if the production team thought about cinematography of such scenes.

Finally an independent female lead.

This is my first review ever on here, and I'm so excited for it! This isn't much of a review,I have explained some of the plot features some reviews told were confusing, and since I could understand why and what happened,I have explained them below.

The plot was intriguing. There were indeed clichés,but in my opinion, they only made the drama better. At first,I felt like there wouldn't be much chemistry between the leads, but as the story progressed, they developed more chemistry. Their love wasn't something they expressed with physical touches(there were hugs, kisses, etc), it was something I could feel through the screen, through the little gestures.
The plot was one which you can understand fully only if you watch it several times.

The characters: (Minor spoilers here)
For once, the female lead isn't clumsy, poor,or anything. She's rich, has her own opinions, doesn't care what society thinks of her,and isn't much affected by anything much. She runs a company (about which I shall explain below) and is completely independent. She does listen to the other suggestions, but only does what she thinks is right. The male lead isn't arrogant, cold, etc like I expec8him to be,and it's what makes me like the two of them more. He is warm, and understanding, and respects the female lead. In my opinion,he's one of the best male leads I've seen in a drama. He does play around with girls at the beginning of the drama, but that's it. Moreover, there is a reason behind him playing around, and creating scandals. However,he remains faithful to our female lead till the end of the drama.

Spoiler zone
As for the unexplained mysteries in the drama, that the other reviews talk about,I think I can explain them.

So,the female lead has a superpower which shows itself whenever she feels any negative feeling, like sadness, feeling angry, etc. This superpower causes an imbalance in the nearby ions, this causing things made of glass to break.
The bracelet she wears is kind of a preventive measure. It helps to make the ions stable, but can't help if her feelings are big in magnitude.
AIRI project,as mentioned towards the last is kind of a brain study project launched in order to study her brain, and use her superpower for the treatment of injured people.

Her company's name is Sheng Hong Capital, which is most likely based overseas, and is bigger than our male lead's company. Now,our male lead's father initially saw them as a threat, but soon after,he accepted them,I think.

I don't remember in which episode exactly, but there was one in which she was teaching deaf children. The school was most likely sponsored by the company she owns, and she was probably researching on how to cure them.

As for her ex's company, she needed to acquire it since they had developed a technology that could potentially help them in their study.

And that commences the end of my review.

( If you're still reading this,I'm looking for a drama friend hehe.)

This is not your usual C-drama plot. The FL is strong, has her own opinion and is strong in her own way. She is not your usual damsel in distress that needs saving all the time. The two main leads each has something they bring to the table; highlighting their strengths without overshadowing-ing one another. The interaction between both of them is funny and is a no-brainer, feel good drama to pick you up after a long day at work. It is a new plot that is not only refreshing but easy to watch.

In terms of the storyline, though it is different from most of the C-dramas, I will have to say that there are alot of loopholes and underwhelming moments. The highlights were not given enough emphasis with lackluster performance. Instead of saying that it is draggy, I would say I don't mind having a few more episodes to properly tie up the loose-ends and give the leads a proper ending. I have to say I am disappointed with the ending as it is not only abrupt but the drama ended with scenes of the supporting roles.

Hidden Gem

I forgot how I stumbled on this series. Maybe it popped up again on my YT channel. I actually saw the first episode several times but due to bad english sub titles, I stop watching it.
But due to lack of any finish series to watch I tried watching this again while reading the comments and searching for reviews, The 2 reviews though didn't help as their rating's not the same. LOL Which I understand as the review is base on the opinion of the reviewer.
So I started watching it. The story is really unique. The FL is so mysterious, I was so confuse at first on the FL's character and the bad sub titles added to the confusion even more so I tried to check in Dramacool if it has better sub title. Though it's not really good, it's tolerable.

The ML lead is so hilarious. I seldom watch series that has the ML character. Most series now has rich, brainy and serious or stone face (cold) ML. The supporting characters are also entertaining, the assistant of the ML, the Friend of the FL, the Hotel Manager. The ML's brother is not evil as well as The father of the ML. So this is really a very light drama, funny if you can understand the sub titles and with a touch of mystery. The antagonist on this drama is good because I hate her. Having this said. she was able to portray her character so well.

If the subs are good I might have enjoyed the chemistry of the FL and ML more, sad to say some of the sentences are hard to understand.
Also If the sub is good, I might watch this again. The 7.0 rewatch score is not because of the story itself but because of the bad English sub titles.
