I liked this drama overall (I haven't watched any of the other adaptions) simply because the plot was new to me. I also really enjoyed Xing Zhao Lin and Liang Jie's performances. They're both good actors and they have good chemistry. I don't feel like writing a super in-depth review, so here's my hot take. The angst it too spread out. This drama would have flowed much better if there were 20 episodes or less. While it was well cast and the performances were exemplary, the ending was way to abrupt for how long (in drama time and episodes) they spent pining over each other. That's more of an issue with the writing though. All it all it was okay. I'm glad I watched it, but I probably won't rewatch over watching something else.

Why to choose to watch You are my destiny.

I usually don't bother to write reviews for the dramas that i like. But after finishing you are my destiny i felt the urge to write down a few words for other users to see. You are my destiny was one of the best Chinese dramas that i have ever watched regarding acting skills, production(sceneries , clothes etc ) and casting. Actors were very well chosen for each role and everyone portrayed their role in an amazing way.FL and ML have a very unique on screen chemistry and thats why you can easily feel their emotions. Music was also a plus, all the songs have stucked in my mind. To conclude, if you are searching for a cdrama that has a little bit of comedy, adult life, and lots of passion scenes you are my destiny is your choice!!!

I think the show should end at 30 episode. The last few episode felt like very draggy.
I also think the ending part should be at least 1 full episode.
The last episode was still the leads trying to resolve some issue and the ending ending was done in like 15-20min.
So some episodes felt like there's fillers to fill the time because they wanted to end it at 36 instead of actually needing 36 episode. I think it would have been much better if problems were all resolved in the episode before the last and just give us the last episode of the ending like what happens with the character after they resolved their issue. I'm trying to write this without putting in any spoilers It's quiet difficult to explain without actually mentioning some spoilers .

It started well and it got quite boring around ep 13-17 but it is picking up pace and i am awaiting for her to have her miscarriage which will be the big "KABOOM"......

I think the plot itself is quite entertaining and also the character revelation (How much the characters grow) throughout the story. CANT WAIT FOR HOMEGIRL TO BE A INDEPENDENT BADASS....

The story itself has quite an impact but I am also rooting for the second couple because they are hella cute and sweet plus their comic kiss moments.

Like this version better than Korean.
In this version, ML's character was portrayed in more humane manner, and so was the FL and the rest of the side characters which I find, is more realistic and representational of the Asian society's values.
Especially like the character of ML's Grandma and FL's mom. Kudos for casting Leanne Liu and Liu Lin which none of us can deny both veteran's acting excellence.
Xing Zhao Lin's acting is flawless here but find Liang Jie's acting is slightly lacking and inconsistent.

Well my short review.
I have to say I was not expecting the main lead to be so kind and just. Often this trope, Romance with a rich CEO, is filled with high handedness and cold demeanor but not this CEO. He is considerate, kind and just in ways that the genre has not been in the past. I have noticed that over the last year or two there has been a shift from melodrama to sweet romances that start with unexpected meetings and eventually lead to happy endings though a series of destined events. The characters seem more trusting and truthful as well. I for one am loving this new trope. The villains have become so much bolder and offensive too... cheating on your gf in her room?! Its pretty sleezy. But in this case a great way to bring about our characters destiny. Here, our ML comes to the rescue of our FL in a situation that pretty much sucks. He does everything right and ends up finding himself on the receiving end of a number of coincidences that seal his fate. I can't wait to see how he brings himself to accept it! Well quite a few episodes in... I dont know if I am liking the way ML approaches his problem but I continue liking how quick he is to come to the FL rescue or comfort when she is struggling. I absolutely cant stand that he is waiting to meet Anna in person to tell her what happened... it feels like a bit cowardly. I full on felt the mothers anguish as she walked in daughters bedroom and I am looking forward to seeing how they overcome this problem.

Shows important things that are simple but hard to notice

It's really beautiful drama. It shows many important things in life, that are commonly hard to notice even if they are so simple. It helps to find the aim of life and perfectly shows what is important in marriage. I rated it not as 10/10 because there are threads that are over the top (example - friend who is a lawyer (and works to Mr. Shen) didn't find that MSA is fake, no one asked why Jiaxin left her homeland). Despite this, I really recommend that drama. There are moments when you'll be laughing, when you'll be crying and even more. I really recomend it 💕

Fated to love you 2020

I saw some clip from IG at first i was so hesitant for watching it i thought its not good as the original one from taiwan. Actually i didn't watch the korean version because im afraid that it might destroy the story that i still remember. But when i saw some clip i told myself why not giving it a try. In just 5days i was able to finish the 36 episode of course i skip some episode and focus to the main character cuz im so confident that the story is still the same. After watching it im not satisfied i felt that their are some scene that i might omit. But i like the chemistry of the main character zhaolin and jangjie. I start searching for them in ig then i saw some clips thats i skipped. Then i started watching the drama full episode and I realise that the story was so good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍 i like the characters, the chemistry, the plot .There are some few changes but the love story is still there. Pure and loving chen jianxin and comical xin yi. I Really like to recommend this drama. Please watch it it dont skip or you might not able to see their sweet and loving moments. I already finish watching the eternal love 2 and still waiting for eternal love 3. They really portrait the character as if its their own story. God Job! Godbless. Actually im into Kdramas so i only watch a few chinese. Just wanted to share a story Last year i decided to go to taiwan with my 2 sister, we made our own itinerary. Prior to that i watch fated to love you taiwan and i learn a few words atleast 5. 🤣🤣🤣 the one that very helpful to us is zai na li. Dont know if correct. I'm a fan of these two because of Eternal Love. And I'm happy to see them in a moderm drama. This version has its up and downs.

I watched the Taiwan, dropped the Korean because it became too melodramatic for me and thai version was boring in my opinion.

The chinese version changed some details from the original story but am happy they removed the sick male lead arc from the korean and thai versions.

Although they cheated involuntarily on Anna I can't help but hate her victim mentality and her brother Dylan, I seriously love him and thought of all the versions he could be the best Dylan but no, he had to be the good brother and stop Wang Xoyo from reuniting with Jiaxin even though he had the moment of enlightenment I can't help but think that the siblings are way too selfish.

I love Wang Xiyi's family and I like how this family dynamoc changed with Jiaxin and how intact it was after she left. I love the aunt for fighting to keep Jiaxin as her niece in law. And that outrageous meddlesome grandmother.

Jiaxin's family is okay for me the mom fought for her daughter and saw Xiyi's devotion to her and changed her mond about their relationship.

The story dragged on in the latter part and I kinda hated how Jiaxin became a pushover for the siblings may be because she thought she was to blame but like girl you gotta fight for your love. Right? Although you see the character growth she still has that snail in her.

Wang Xiyi's growth is imminent and although I think he's too nice he never got back with her even after his wife left. But he never drew a line she can't cross which cpuld be the reason she was hopeful they can be together again.

The only ex gf of the main lead I liked is the one in the thai version because after they talked it out I never saw her attempt to get her ex back and understood that he loved the wife.

Although we all know it would be a happy ending given it's the 4th remake but the last episode felt too rushed. Anyways its still good.

Never wanted a couple to find the way back together more than this one!

This was a beautifully well written story, and I loved it. I cried, got angry, laughed and happy for all. I binged watched from episodes 1-36 for 2 days. This couple deserved to be happy with all they went through. Wang Xiyi really loved Chen Jiaxin and didn't give up on her. Glad he gave up on Anna, who hurt him so many times to find his true love and happiness. Was surprised that XiYi and Jiaxin had never filed for divorce from the Civil Affairs Bureau. So sad that they loss the baby to go through hell to get happiness in the end. So glad Anna lost in the end because she was just evil and selfish, and I truly hated her. Glad Dylan found his sister and hope he helps her to turn her life around and find true love for himself. Glad Anson found happiness with his crazy wife because I was worried with her ego, he might walk away from her.
The chemistry between the main actors is amazing and actually all the characters touched me so much.
Glad the ending scene was on the cruise where it all started. Although the final episodes were a bit frustrating and disappointing, I liked this C-drama mainly because of Liang Jie and Xing Zhaolin. Swoon worthy couple with their kissing and hug scenes.
I also watched the Korean version of this drama Fated to Love You. Same feels.

ok but not the best version of the show

I have watched the different version of this show and while this version is ok, it's far from being the best one. I liked that they brought some twists to the version of other countries. I liked that they removed the illness of the main character and removed the part of going in the wrong room (doesn't really work anymore) but they also turned Dylan in a forceful creep, killing the show for me. him trying to get Elaine to break up with xinyi was done in a bully's way. And the actor that plays Dylan is not great. I would also add that Elaine's transformation was weaker than in the other version of the show.

Plot and Characters

This drama was very good in terms of casting and production. However, the story had a bit of things to work on and things that could've been exacuted better.

Story: The FL gets pregnant by the ML, however she ends up losing the child. Which the FL blames the ML for over three years not knowing the truth. The ML even spends all those years feeling regret from losing their child yet the FL never takes this into consideration. Furthermore, both of them never really are told the truth about who was really behind their unborn Childs death. Also, they spend 10+ episode on them having misunderstandings that could've been easily solved.

Characters:
Wang XiYi: He was are average typical jerk of a character but I didn't find him that way at all. I was able to really sympathize with him because he had a hard time communicating his feelings at times. I was happy when he had the courage to tell Jiaxin that she could keep the baby instead of having an abortion. You could also tell that he even started to show feelings for her as he was jealous at times. He was one character who really developed into a good person even when making a lot of bad decisions.

Jiaxin: She is a shy, lack of confidence, and low self-esteem character. I felt bad for her in the beginning since her boyfriend cheated on her and blamed her. But, when XiYi came into the picture and he started showing feelings for her. She was really pathetic and foolish for not understanding his feelings while confessing. I hated her character development because she started dressing mature but her personally was very off putting. She even spent three years blaming this man for the death of THEIR unborn baby without taking in account that he felt guilty as well.

Dylan: I hated Dylan, he is your average typical second male lead. To be honest, a lot of people liked him as he was more mature looking. But, nobody realizes how of a real jerk he really is. He caused both XiYi and Jiaxin pain so that he could eventually have Jiaxin to himself. He even helped his sister Anna get XiYi back which backs fires.

Shi Anna: She is a professional ballet dancer and the second female lead. I hated her because she had continued to ditch XiYi every time he was wanted to spend sometime with her. She always put her career first instead of being with her boyfriend which was selfish of her. When she realized that XiYi was no longer in love with her but with Jiaxin she refused to accept it and tried to sabotage their relationship. In the end, she does not admit to having something to do with the death of their unborn child.
