Why the end?!??

I'm very shocked and can't believe that's how it ends. Why?!!?! The story is excellent and the plot is very tangled/confusing (which I like), but the end :(( I am almost crying ? However this drama is extremely addictive, I wish I could rewatch it without knowing anything about it. I never imagined it would end like this (anyone who's reading this before watching the drama might be confused haha well I encourage you to watch it immediately, because it's worth it, believe me). It's a very suspenseful drama.

Kill it is not for comfort. This story isn't for people looking for romance. It is about how a man survived based on how he was raised and how a female is revenging a loved one's death. Nothing in this drama is done by accident. Everything has an explanation and a moral conflict. The character's journey and struggle thought the whole drama is mindblowing. Each of them grow on you and they all have such a big place in the drama as a whole. To be honest I was expecting a little bit of romance between the two main characters, but i'm glad that the series took the course it did. It keeped the main character's true to their personalities and the story line true to its plot. Hands down one of my favorite dramas of all time. (FYI: You might not like the ending)

Great thriller!

First off... OUCH! This is the first Kdrama I have seen that has the protagonist die T.T

This is the first Kdrama I have seen with the least amount of episodes, yet packed with so much action! I truly enjoyed this series because it was a break from other Kdramas I usually see, but it caught my attention. As a result, I could be biased. However, I honestly enjoyed the mix of action scenes, and the case slowly unraveling. It was a good medley of suspense, thriller, action, and mystery.

This is the first Kdrama I have seen where the co-leads do not live happily ever after, so I'm not going to lie, that took me aback. I thought that Kim Soo-Hyun would just go to jail at the very most of be let off or escape at the very least. To see the protagonist and the side kick, Phillip, die was just a shock to me.

I agree with some of the viewers that there were some plot holes I disagreed with such as, how did Do Hyun-Jin know so quickly that Ko Hyeon Woo and Yoon Ji-Hye worked together and simply the client of Kim Soo-Hyun? Also, why was the door to Kim Soo-Hyun lair opened like that?!? Wouldn't he know better to close and lock it at all times? One more thing, if the father did not see Do Hyun-Jin as his daughter, why did he help her "remember" who her favorite ballerina and what current performance the ballerina has? I found that scene confusing.

Unlike most people, I actually did not think all too much about the music. If anything, the music has to be the least memorable part of the whole drama. Usually, I would research the OST or who sang what song during a scene, but that did not happen at all with this drama until the end scene where the two co-leads were walking in a grassy field.

While searching for my next watch I stumbled upon this and liked the fact that the protagonist was a veterinarian (although major professional plot holes!!). I absolutely loved my decision to go ahead with this drama. No drama is without plot holes and so I will not deduct points for that. The storyline was very interesting and the suspense unravelled slowly without making the viewer wait too long or have it guessed already! The pace of the drama is good and when I began I was unsure if I'd be satisfied by just 12 episodes and whether it would leave an impression or not. I was proven wrong and the 12 episodes are just right and its better to end sooner than drag on extra storylines to stretch the drama for 16 episodes. Jang Ki Yong's acting was spot on and he was able to relay a lot even without speaking. I also liked the character of Seul-gi and her scenes with Seo-hyun (Jang Ki's character) were fun and entertaining. If you are looking for a romantic crime thriller this may not be it but for me it was just the right amount of romance that was shown for a thriller drama and everyone should give it a go.
Since its a thriller I don't suppose it has much of a rewatch value !

The Ultimate Sacrifice.

I didn't know what to name this review to bring together all of my feelings after finishing this series but I think the ultimate sacrifice says it all.

I picked up this series at random, it had been on my watchlist for a long time but for some reason I never got to it. After a series drought, seeing Jang Ki Yong in the cast, knowing that he is also in that of an upcoming thriller, I became curious.

I have to say that in a sense the story and execution is a bit clumsy, and surreal but so tragic.

The story revolves around Kim Soo Hyun, a young man who has been trained since childhood to kill by a hitman, prior to that, he has no memory of his past life and knows nothing beyond the fact that his biological father wanted him dead and that he was in an orphanage. We then follow Kim Soo Hyun on the road to discovering his past while he is guided by a mysterious client to kill powerful men who all seem linked by the management of the said orphanage years ago. After each murder, he receives a photo from his client which supposedly will help him discover who he is.

Do Hyun Jin is the other person we are acquainted with. She is a young woman who was adopted at a young age into a very rich and powerful family, and decided to become a police officer. She finds herself on the trail of Kim Soo Hyun when his serial killings become apparent.

The two of them also come to know each other randomly, and quickly discover that they are linked to the same orphanage, and even that they were childhood friends. Kim Soo Hyun is the infamous "number 88", a number that brings dread to the most powerful while sweet memories to Do Hyun Jin.

The story devolves into a web of connection between the past and present, the persecutors and victims. Kim Soo Hyun is not only trying to discover his past but to make right by his friends and those who continue to suffer under the yoke of the antagonists.

Kim Soo Hyun is a cold and quiet character, he never smiles, and he only speaks in a few words. It’s a great performance offered by Jang Ki Yong, because Kim Soo Hyun says very little but his looks and locked emotions say a lot. He can be the most caring guy in the world one moment and a cold killer the next. What I liked throughout this series was that I was virtually not afraid for him. He was very capable and intelligent, as he said, others may make mistakes, but not him, and in the end ; I can say that on his road to revenge he didn't make a mistake. I really like this character for what he brings.

The ending is more than tragic, but honestly I couldn't see him spending his life in prison, or even running. So I think the ultimate sacrifice he made for the children fits the character.

As for the other characters, I found myself having affection for them, especially Kang Seul Gi and Philip Ahn, who infiltrated my heart without me seeing it, they were annoying but endearing, a bit like siblings that we unwillingly to keep close but that we love regardless. I even warmed up to Do Hyun Jin who was quite obnoxious at first but turned out to be a nice addition.

I must say that one thing that the series succeeds in is the cruelty and realism of the unfolding of certain events and the fate of certain characters. Generally, in other series, when a character is in danger, they are somehow saved by the protagonist who miraculously arrives at the scene in time. Here, this is not the case. The protagonist is not omnipotent, he is not a superhero, and people including children are killed mercilessly because no one knew in time.

Despite the sweet moments and slow pace, this remains a fairly dark thriller overall that deals with tough subjects. I recommend the series without hesitation, entertaining and terrible at the same time, with a satisfactory in a sense.

This was action pack drama from episode one. No way disappointment with any of the main leads. The story was well written and directed wonderfully. A lot of emotions with each episode and clear cut action leading up to what would happen next. Kind wondering what would be the outcome in the end, since something you think what would happen if this happens or that. Was kind of thinking how it would end, and wasn’t surprised at all. I would have liked a different ending, but it was up to part with reality of the drama. This is a must watch, excellent drama.

10/10 easy if it had a bit different ending. I'm a sucker for a happy ending, always.

Binge watched this one over night. I was hooked from the first episode up to the end. I just wish it had a better ending.

Story wise, its really a good crime/mystery drama with just a hint of a budding romance. I like that the writers took time to make each characters feels real or at least a bit relatable. They're complex characters with different facets. For example, the ML adopted father, who's a cold blooded assassin, save ML and took care of him. At his last breath all he wanted for his adopted son is to live a normal life.

I like the cast. I love the onscreen chemistry of the ML and FL. Its just sad that there wasn't enough of their love story.

I luckily found this drama on-going, got interest on watching it because of the leads (JANG KIYONG!!<3) plus the story is really my kind of genre's and is really interesting and most of all, Im really interested in the romance line kyah! I really anticipate the episodes weekly because this drama is just really good. The plot needs a lot of braincells actually and every revelations make my jaw drop but it somehow process so slow. Anyway, no question for the acting, Jang KiYong is such an amazing actor paired with Nana, it's so amazing (how I wish they just get married lol) also the supports are great. The ost's fits the drama so much.

If you're planning to watch this drama, I ask you to prepare your heart!!! Thats it!〒_〒

Good show, definitely worth watching!!!

The Story is kinda similar and also different from other shows I've watched in this genre. One of my favorite things about this drama are the Osts ... they are so beautiful yet heartbreaking, regardless of them being less used in the show (as much as I wanted), I just can't remove them from my playlist. Acting by Jang ki young was good as I felt bad for him regardless of him being a assasin, he did well as an antagonist.Chemistry of both actors, I think was pretty decent too. One thing I would complain about is the ML & FL onscreen time is less to what I would've liked. Being assasin ML had a rough life and I wanted him to have little bit of more happiness and affection.

Perfect ACTING Beautiful MUSIC

So from the start to the end was it awesome. This drama is one of the only dramas where you can see a strict storyline here’s not something like ,“fanservice“. You can say, you are watching the whole life from the male lead.... and the life from the male lead is overwhelming. I was only sad and hated it a bit at the end. I wished it had a longer ending because the whole story built to the ending. It all ended rapidly and fast and I wished I could had seen more of it.

To the acting and cast.... are you people even real? The male lead acts his role perfectly, you could see every emotion he had to express in his eyes. I can’t believe how he can have a serious expression but still makes his emotions visible. As for the female lead... it’s the same they can express perfectly, what the character feels.

The music was beautiful and was always played when something overwhelmed happened.. the only thing is that i wished it gave one more song for a third emotion. Because it gives always one song for sad scenes and one for emotional. So yes.

I am not the one who watches dramas again after I finished them. But I would watch this again, there are so many scenes that are so emotional that you want to see them again. I want to see the people reacting again to the things that are about to happen.

Overall a 9.5 because this drama was awesome.

Story: Thriller/Suspense. I personally loved how the story unfolded, and I appreciated that the PD left the audience to 'figure things out for themselves'.

Acting: The main cast did a stellar job. (Bias note: I totally loved Jang Ki Yong's dark tormented protrayal of thug Lee Gwang Il in 'My Mister', so I wasn't disappointed by his performance here whatsoever.)

Music: Where can I buy this OST!? I NEED it. One of the best soundtracks I've ever heard in a drama.

Rewatch Value: I rarely rewatch dark tragic dramas that don't have a happy endings (my gentle heart can't handle them). But I might make an exception for this someday in the future.

Overall: Worth watching if you're looking for a great thriller drama, and not expecting a romance.

First of all, the drama is great. The lowkey romance, the love- hate (not really love hate but kind of) relationship between seul gi and hyun jin ,the coldness of the male lead, the mysterious deaths, the dealer and more.

However, there are parts that is hard to understand. There are some parts where the action is just--- not enough. They should have given nana more action and more badass side. But yeah, over all it's great. I was about to drop it in the near end but i was somehow curious about it.

The end, it was ughh, why?! I was expecting something like a blossoming love but-- ughhh. It was a sad ending and i feel sorry for seulgi. And the arson victim being "kind" in the end is a little unrealistic, but yeah alright he had some conscience, acceptable. And the children.... This drama will surely make you cry.

The acting, nana, is so great. The same goes with the rest of the cast (idk the names) They gave justice to their characters.
I don't really give much attention to the music but i guess it's good HAHAHA.

But rewatching it is not a great option for me. Maybe when I feel like watching it again. HAHAHA
