This drama started off so good, and then right around the middle it was like the writers decided to take a break from giving a more in depth experience to the watchers. Which is sad, because every character in this drama had so much potential and I really wanted more from them. The acting here was amazing and the final episode was really good as well. I wouldn't have minded if they added an episode or two to give us more character development.

That being said, this was a really good drama, the plot sucks you in, and you want justice for the kids involved. The acting in here was top notch. I just felt they could have added more to the characters to get you involved in their stories and motives more. If you dislike sudden bittersweet endings, this may not be the drama for you. The ending almost felt like they rushed it. Also, if you are sensitive to child murder images (There are several scenes here which depict or heavily imply mass child murder) you might want to be wary of this as well.

I'm not unhappy that I watched this, but I felt there was some wasted potential along the way. It felt like the writers created a torpedo that had a straight shot to the ending, plowing past important character interaction and development along the way. All in all, not a bad drama to watch, but I probably wouldn't watch again.

Dark and somewhat heavy. Touch of romance. The story, while being easy to guess what will happen, is good and well written. I would recommend this drama if you want a break from heart wrenching stuff or strong romance.

The casting and the acting it's self in this drama was top notch. The pacing of this drama is is well done. I can't remember a moment that I found myself feeling like a scene was dragging on to long. I find this to be quite a rare occurrence in dramas and is a large contribution for my recommendation for this drama.

Overall it is a nice action drama that is well paced and fun to watch.

As I up my list of Korean dramas, I have found myself trying to find any kind of drama whether it's action, comedy, mystery, legal, con, or any other drama, that don't have that cliche romance in it and this one didn't have it.

Of course I'm a action fanatic and love martial arts and other fighting styles so when I see that this was action I clicked on it. Plus at the time I started watching this I had hit a Korean action drama drought. I hate when that happens because I know there's a lot of dramas out there like this but is hard to find.
Since June or July of last year I have probably watched close to 50 Korean dramas. I've watched a lot and have dropped a few.
This one did not get dropped.

As always I look for good chemistry between the actors and this one had it. I even liked the FL and I usually don't care for Korean female actresses because of the way they're portrayed. Any female Korean actor that can hold her on in a drama gets a thumbs up for me and the FL got a thumbs up for me.

It's been a few months since I've seen this drama but I will say this drama worked for me. I don't remember anything disappointing in this drama.

The action worked. The chemistry worked. I didn't like the ending but it was realistic. I was hoping it didn't end the way it did but I'm glad it didn't have a cliche ending.
Glad to know this one is on my favorites list

Compelling, tense entry in the assassin genre

Does "Kill It" have a particularly original story? Nope.
Does it feature a dynamic performance by the main character? Uh, not really.
Is the background to the plot laid out in a coherent manner? Not even close.
Are there characters that serve no purpose and the production would be better off without? Very much so.
Is it branded well (title, poster, etc.)? That's all horrible.
Is David McInnis competent with a Russian accent? It's a 0/10. Incredibly bad.

Despite these shortcomings and some others, "Kill It" is an admirably executed show in a genre that, worldwide, has produced some incredibly entertaining pieces. Jang Ki Yong certainly has the assassin role down. In fact, he's almost too grim and silent. But he is wholly convincing physically and athletically as Soo Hyun. Nana is not a natural for the role of veteran, hard-nosed detective. It's the off-duty scenes where she is clearly more at ease in this role. Nevertheless, she is capable enough as an actor to hit the serious notes too.

Jung Hae Kyun is a marvelous villain. And the villainy that he is up too is top of the charts for bad behavior. Once his scheme has crystallized, "Kill It' really hits its stride. Moreover, unlike some dramas that like to rehabilitate or humanize their villains, not here. Quite the opposite actually and it ratchets the tension up continuously right up to the end.

The standout performance, however, is Roh Jeong Eui as, Seul Ki, the young woman taken in by Soo Hyun as a child. It is a complex character and Roh Jeong Eui is wonderful in every facet.

Despite some lowered expectations with the poor marketing and a fairly clumsy first few episodes, the second half of "Kill It" is terrific entertainment. It may not be something for all viewers, but anyone that enjoys the action genre will be pleased.

While this may seem like a typical OCN drama, it is not. It has a very different vibe than other OCN dramas. Should you still watch it then? I think yes, you should.

Story: The story behind Kill It seems pretty simple in the beginning and turns more complicated later on and I can guarantee you that in the middle you start thinking "how are they gonna end this, there are only like 3 episodes left" or something like that. I thought they would rush the ending but they actually kept their pace steady and neat. The beginning is interesting, the middle part almost too much for my poor nerves and the end is just amazing. If I had to name any drama with the best ending scene - this one does it.

Acting/Cast: I was really surprised by the cast. I did not think they could do it so well, especially because the characters in general had this tendency to be void of emotion but just in the right moments you could see exactly what they were thinking and feeling and like mentioned above, they pulled out everything for episode 12. All actors, whether main actors or supporting, proved to be amazingly talented at their job.

Music: While I did enjoy the soundtrack in specific scenes, I actually did not like the main OST of the show. It does fit the show, but not my tastes, so I won't say more on it.

Rewatch: Sure, just not this year. This is probably one of those dramas I re-(binge) watch every other year. Those are the best.

Overall: Overall the drama fits together just perfectly. One thing that you'll notice: the number of episodes is just right for telling this story. If they had added more or reduced it, they would have had to change so many things...I think the length fits perfectly, also because normally dramas with this kind of story line have like 20 episodes. It was refreshing to see a shorter one.

Wonderful story, acting, ending but some major plot holes

This drama was amazing. I liked almost everything about it, but after watching it, I am still confused. Though it seems like the show is wrapped up, some things make absolutely no sense. Like, I loved the story, it was compelling, the acting was great but there were some things just missing. I kind of wish they made it at least one episode longer to address some parts of the plot

Overall, I loved the main characters and their acting. Su Hyeon is a wonderful assassin-wooden log. Nana is so great as Do Hyeon jin, although really, some more exploration into the depths of her character would be wonderful. I would have liked to see more about her childhood after she was adopted. How did she meet the reporter man?
Seul gi is adorable really, and so was Philip. I wanted to see more of Philip.

Plot holes:
1) Ko Hyeon Woo mentioned that Seul gi is Su Hyeon's daughter... How? Never explained again, apart from that one line. I was waiting for them to explain that uptil the ending credits.
2) Why did Hyeon jin's reporter boyfriend die? What is his connection to Seul gi's grandfather, and what happened there? It was never explained why he died near her grandfather, as he lived in Seoul and Seul gi's grandfather did not. Even if we assume that it was ordered by Do Jae Hwan as a pre emptive measure for the article, why would he get Pavel to do it, and why was the notebook burned?
3) What is with the Blue eyes thing? We see sometimes in the starting of the drama, that the kid ML had blue eyes. Why? It was never expanded on.
4) Somehow, Philip was doing something shady, like playing both sides of the field- both with Karimov and the client, but somehow it was never explained why? I guess money, but they really could have put one scene in explaining that whole part.
5) Yoon Ji hye's sister is not a plot hole, but really they told us absolutely nothing about her.

Things I would have like to see more of:
Philip and Su Hyeon's backstory. Flashback of how they met.
Pavel and Su Hyeon
Su Hyeon and Do Hyeon jin's mother

This drama is so underrated

I's not that often I write reviews on a drama but "Kill It" is one of my memorable drama that I have seen. This drama is definitely underrated. The plot is one of the most unique ones in K-drama. I was hooked by the way the knot is slowly unravel and the insightful inner soul of each character was displayed. The moral story of this drama is tactfully interwoven into the plot, making it both a tragic and heart wrenching piece. The key success is the actor, Jang Ki Yong, he gives off such a spectacular performance that are beyond words to explain. I was ugly crying at the end of the episode. This is my opinion alone and I'm not here to argue.

Yes but did you know she has an Olympic record for dart throwing????

This show is so funny like Nana's character takes every opportunity to flex her dart throwing skills while Jang Kiyong just stares at her like '😐maam this is a wendys.' But yeah actually this show is not funny at all its extremely depressing and idk I kinda loved how it ended like that guy so deserved it !!! And yeah, is this a good show? No, not really. But wow I had the time of my life watching it I binged it in one day. Sure, the characters aren't really fleshed out and the plot is just.... fine, but idk the action can be fun and it did keep my attention. ALSO SEULGI??? Oh Seulgi.... She was so sweet I adored her dynamic with the male lead they were so sweet <33 She was the best thing about this show. Nana and Jang Kiyong also had a sweet dynamic and I do like a good cat and mouse game. Would def rewatch this its just a fun time but don't expect too much meat out of it it's an OCN drama from 2019. Wait but Nana did eat in this I'm so interested in checking out more of her shows now like how do you go from Orange Caramel to THIS? What range, I love her.

Kill It is very well-paced drama. Only having 12 episodes, the writers did a good job in unraveling the story on each 12 of them. However, I did find the 1st ep. boring, too much setting up for the whole series happened. The 2nd ep picked up the pace, and the drama was good from then. Until the middle, where it gets slightly confusing. I still continued watching it and everything was explained on the next episodes. I kinda knew how it's gonna end since, it has a dark, tragic feel from the start.

This is my first time watching a drama without a Romance genre and I really saw chemistry between the male lead lead and female lead. It was nice that they were able to touch a little of romance to it. I understand that the it was not the focus of the drama, and if it is a 16-20 ep drama they might be able to tackle it. Still, they were able to establish the relationship between the two that made their "Last Scene" (spoiler alert) together very effective.

All in all, it was a good drama. I liked the action scenes. I had a City Hunter feel on it. It is not as re-watchable as other good dramas. Still, I recommend people watching it. Not a waste of time. :)

I made sure not to watch sad ending for some personal reasons.. It didn't come to me that this will have such ending. But I manage to pull myself together and watch it thru - that's how good it was! I am hooked that it was an action film and the lead actor really looks hot! Though there are unanswered things like how did the female lead get in the orphanage when she was young and she has a name, also I don't know if English translation was not precise but I read somewhere where Suel Gi's biological father is Soo Hyeon? What??!! But over all it was a good watch! Of course all because of Jang Ki-yong and the female lead was also very good! They are well blended together even if there are no lovey dovey moments!

Lacking

'Kill It' could have been so much better than it is.

Story line lacks depth and originality. Things just fall into place, characters just happen to meet each other. There is no proper build up and lacks credibility.

The main cast portrays excellent acting, however the supporting cast characters are all unrealistic and display cliche attributes. Rude teenage angsty kid to a misogynistic police sergeant, who are rude and disrepectful for no apparent reason. Its fair to portray these types characters, but make it believable. The story feels rushed and things are left to coincidence far too often.

Unless you are a fan of the ML and FL - this drama is a hard one to watch.

Definitely worth a look but the minuses below spoil the impression.
As usual, events happen in the past and present between which there is nothing,
Oh no, Kim Soo Hyun growing up and was trained by the killer of his profession, ok.
But killer not just an murderer, it profession. and what he learned besides shooting skills and possession of a knife? seems like nothing useful.

As a result is a absurd ending and equally death
in principle, like his teacher with Alzheimer (no way without it)
But the storyline is logically completed-all bad guys are dead.
ps sorry for my english
