My advices, before u sit and watch it from the beginning, please make sure you’re in healthy condition, especially your heart. The sort of upcoming scenes won’t let your heart rest even a second. If you plan to predict the becoming plots or try to guess what would happen in the next scenes, please forget it, I bet none of your predictions turn it right, nothing goes as you wish, I will vote the screenwriter for the best ever stand because the plots swayed your emotions with full of styles, each line and dialogs are too precious if you plan to skip it.

My utmost congrats to the team especially the screenwriter, because succeed in twisting the plots all around and in the end you realized there's no flaws spotted from the very beginning till the end, making us believe that North Korean is passable, u also can see the strictness of the North trooper, it’s just perfect how they executed each of scene without failed. The storyline almost perfect and if you can see many foreigner extras making this drama looks like blockbuster action pack movie, using international political issues can bring sensitiveness point to the viewer sometimes, but the plots explained it well at the end of the story.

This drama is about our current living cultures, where we still experienced it nowadays. It is about put the families before all that matters, love without boundaries, friendship with honor and faith, uphold dignity of the nation, patriotism, integrity and teamwork, sins and forgiveness, ruthlessness with no mercy, fighting till the end and it is about HOPE and FAITH.

Ha Ji Won as Kim Hang Ah, successfully portrayed a character of a strong bold innocent young lady living in the North of Korean, as always she never disappointed us in acting and Lee Seung Ki as King Lee Jae ha also succeed in portraying the character of a funny young man, making stupid humors sometimes to hide his true feelings, can get on everyone’s nerves sometimes especially his comrades from North during WOC training, sometimes selfish but yet aware of his duty as a King of South Korea's modern monarchy. He’s the king who knows how to hide the fears in front of his enemies with his fishy smiles and arrogant behavior. But his right hand man, Eun Shi Kyung, who is always stood by him, understood and knew him well. They became ‘invisible friend’ in protecting each other.

Love story between Kim Hang Ah and Lee Jae Ha started when they're fighting and teasing at each other at the beginning later turned it to a great love after all, also between Princess Jae Shin(Jae Ha's sister)and Eun Shi Kyung, kinda awkward sweet moment for them but you will missed them for sure.

I recommended this drama as top 5 drama in 2012. Already add this drama in my top 5 list ^^. Happy watching.

I just finished King 2 Hearts, and all I can say is wow. Wow oh wow oh wow. I don’t even know where to begin to discuss my opinion on this drama, but I must do so, right? The plot of a KING in South Korea got my interest in it, in the beginning. Being a sucker, for GOONG, the idea of seeing it again, in a different light, caught my interested, and then throw in the mix of south and North Korea coming together, then well, you have a kick ass of a drama. The story isn’t one that is fast pace, so brace yourself for that, but that is what makes it good in my opinion. It has a slower speed, for you to catch information, and to actually understand what is going on, which is good right? I would think so. Each episode, will get you hooked, with their killer endings, like I like to call them, cliff hangers, making you want to know what is going to happen next, and that is a good strategy for a drama, making the viewers come back for more, even though it may be frustrating when you are watching currently airing drama.

The characters in this drama, all had their own personalities, and times to shine. They were important factors in the story, and without one, something would have been different. And I like that, that even though they are not MAIN characters, they have a role in the drama, and without them, something different would of happened, and that is just like life. Though someone may not be a main factor in your life, something they do can change the outcome of what is going on in yours, and vice versa. The main female, is kick ass, I just have to say that. Though her accent got on my nerves, this girl can kick some major ass. She isn’t playing around, she is for real a solider and even though she may get scared, she can get through it, and kill people right and left, and that is what makes me love her. I may have a girl crush on her! The main male, the prince, he may be immature, but once he gets his head on straight, he is an amazing person, with a good head on his shoulders and knows what to do under pressure, and he never lets people get the best of him. The main couple, adorable, powerful, awesome in themselves is great, but then there is the second couple. The second “leading” male as I call him, he is amazing. I truly loved his personality, and everything about him, I had loved his acting skills since I saw him in WHAT’S UP. The couple that he forms with his special lady, who is also amazing and boy can that woman act, they are pretty much my ONE TRUE PAIRING (OTP), and they are amazing. I will ship them till the day that I die, but you actually have to watch the drama to know who they are and why I ship them, and why YOU too will ship them. Each character will make you feel emotion, from good to bad. There are evil people who make you want to slit their throats, scream, kick, and throw your computer/laptop out the window, and there are characters that make you laugh so hard you cant stand it, there are characters that make you over flow with gooey warm feelings, and then there are characters that combined them all into one, and make you lose control of what you are feeling. That makes this drama extremely good, don’t you say? Like I always say, I like dramas with well-rounded characters, character growth, and what not, the story can be dull and boring, but the characters must be good with great personalities, good or evil, and have growth and learn things, or it truly isn’t revealing true human characteristics.

I want you to know, that this drama isn’t for those looking for a light hearted romance drama, with a dash of politics, I would have to say it’s a political drama with a dash of romance, which is fine by me. This is a more mature drama, for an audience that wants to sit through those “boring” parts and gather all the information. Ones who truly want to dive into a drama, and drowned in its information, and actually good a good experience out of it. If you are in it for the hot guys or the hot girls, or the romance, then one you in my opinion are an idiot, and two you are missing out. Skipping around in this drama, will make you lose the story, you wont know what is going on, and you will be one of those lame asses on viki flooding the comments with questions on what is going on, because you decided to skip. So please don’t be one of those people, actually watch the drama in whole, and I will have to say you will appreciate it more.

What can I really say about this drama, it was good, had excellent cinematography, music, characters, acting, and story line that keeps you interested, and I have to say its one of the best dramas I have ever seen, it may not be on the tip top of my favorite list, but it is indeed going to be a classic, one that I could watch over and over, and ranks higher then those “classic” high school style dramas, with boy meets girl , girl hates boy blah blah blah and you know where I am going with that. This surpasses that, and shines so much brighter. There is a thousand things I could say about this drama, and name points in it that made me cry tears that could fill an ocean, or ones that made me so angry I thought I might kill a kitten or something, but I want you to watch it. You need to watch it, so you can go through those emotions, and experience the greatness of this drama. Experience it, isn’t that what dramas are about? The experience, I don’t know about you but I like to feel, be connected with the shows I watch, and this one, I was attached like a leech.

So I recommend this drama to those who are mature enough to watch it. Those who can sit through political things, violence, and not have to see romantic things, to be able to enjoy a good drama. And if you have never watched a drama like that before, go ahead and try it, but promise me that you will sit through it and watch it in its full, okay? Promise!? I hope so, because it truly is kick ass.

This drama was a bit uneven for me. Some of it was on par with the best k-dramas out there (The monarchy setting, the lead and secondary couplings, as well as the push-pull dynamics of the hero and villain), while some of it was truly unwatchable (the silliness of the WOC, the huge cast of random foreigners and the makjang tendencies of killing all my favorite characters)

My Rating: 8.0

In short: All in all, I enjoyed it. However, I would have enjoyed it much more it had been a bit shorter. At the very least, they should have removed the actual WOC competition part. Actually risking the king's life for a military competition is just dumb, and the change of setting really sucked the life out of the drama. They could also have done without the countless horrible conversation in "english".

Pros: The secondary coupling really stole the show for me in this. Jo Jong Suk and Lee Yoon Ji were fabulous. They could have been the entire drama as far as I was concerned. Lee Sung Min was also adorable as the royal hyung.

Cons: I think Ha Ji Won overacts in everything. Luckily, this character was, compared to her character in Secret Garden, an actual badass. That certainly helped, though she was still the most dull character in this. And what does that title mean? It certainly does not make sense in english...

Okay, so I will try to make this short but sweet! So here I go!~

King 2 Hearts is an AMAZING drama! Seriously, there has never been a dull moment. Honestly, the only reason why I watched this drama is because of the pictures I saw of Lee Seung Gi and Ha Ji Won. When I read this description I thought it was going to be some boring drama. Thank god I was wrong about and trusted the picture instead of the drama description.

Story:
Story line is great, there is not part in the drama where I felt that I had to fast forward! The plot was never dull, this drama even made me cry half the time from episode 1 - present (and I hardly ever cry!). The action in this drama is amazing as well considering half the time I was sitting on the edge of my seat staring deeply into my screen.

Actors/Actresses:
AMAZING! They are the best actors ever, the cast surprised me! The way they were able to convey their feelings and portray their characters so easily! Half the time I felt like I was watching some real life footage of what happened in real life because the cast was THAT GOOD! Especially, the villains they played their part PERFECTLY, half the time I was scared of the villains as well! Another plus side was that they were all good looking and had terrific chemistry with one another!

Music:
Music, my favorite part of every drama! The music scores in this drama is epic. It's like for every part of the drama there was a musical score that fit right in! From dramatic music to soft, gentle romantic music. The person who created the musical numbers for this drama must have been a genius because I want to download every single score!

Re watch Value:
I would watch it again and again and AGAIN. However, not right away, but maybe after a while because this drama... there is something about it that strikes a nerve, it's like I can't stop crying or feeling this emotions that every character feels. Other than that I would watch again!

Overall:
I honestly, love this drama it took me a while to finally find a good drama worth 10/10 but I finally found it. Sadly, it is coming to an end soon but I hope this ends with a happy endings! This drama is something that I would love to show my kids in the future because its that good. A drama about one country with two nations coming together as one because of two people who fell in love. Perfect!

Edited after watching the last episode:
Just finished the ending! It was amazing, there was never a dull moment. Everyone got their happy ending, including the princess, Lee Jae Sin in a different way. I am really going to miss this drama the most. This was probably the best drama that I have watched ever and I doubt I will come across another like this one. I REALLY REALLY hope they make a season 2!!

This drama had it all..beautiful sets...good cast..nice plot..in short this drama should have sweeped me off my feet but ended up dissapointing me

The plot is fairly good.i like the whole north-south divide because this was something new.one thing i also liked was the fact that this drama challenged pre conceived notions about royalty.I thought that royalty was supposed to be all encompassing power but in this drama the royalty is so real and powerless that its almost to the extent of craziness.

Lee Seung Ki has done an amazing job..he's convincing as a king who doesnt know his place in the world.i loved how the drama focused on his growth as a human being throughout the 20 episodes.he never stopped to amaze me.He came out as one of the strongest character out of the lot.Jo Jung Suk is the shining star for me,he made Eun Shi Kyug utterly lovable and believable.I loved the father daughter relationship between kim Hang Ah and Kim Nam il

the villain in this one was very interesting to watch but i wished he had more brains..:D.i would have loved a psychological war between him and the king.would have been awesome

this drama has lots of flaws.i had loved Han Ji Won in earlier works but in this one she was too irritating with her north korean accent but for that i should probably blame the director.she just tried too hard to be cute which was painful to watch.she was a woman who could kick ass in the starting episodes but as the episodes followed Kim Hang Ah became more and more weak according to me.another fact was that the leads had too much of an age difference and it showed in the drama.the chemistry was sometimes good and sometimes lacklustre.i expected romance.i tried really hard to find it but just couldnt find it at all.their love should have been worth swooning after but it didn't make me giddy with happiness or perceive their love as star crossed lovers of a divided nation

the story is filled with drama and tension but i didnt feel any of the emotions that the chracters were going through.I was wholly detached while watching this one. This started out as a very strong drama but in the end messed up everything it tried to prove.many wouldnt agree with me since this is a pretty popular drama but for me..this one's a forgetable one.

this drama could have been perfect and it kills me because i expected so much out of this.

this drama deserves atleast one watch simply because of Lee Seung Ki who has grown as an actor in this one...and the few good characters that this drama had.

With nuclear weapons part of the game, can a marriage between warring countries (and personalities) bring about peace?

Acting/Cast: Korean actors were excellent. The ones that stood out to me were the princess and the villain. Painfully awful foreign actors.

Music: Honestly I can't remember it being fantastic, but I also can't remember it being bad.

Characters: The script may have called for an over-the-top bad guy, but, personally, he was so exaggerated it was funny. I couldn’t hate the guy, annoyed maybe; instead I wanted to skip his parts. I appreciate how they really took their time molding Prince Jae Ha. I grew to like and admire him. Heroine Hang Ah's personality softened and became less bubbly, as her new environment and love interest required. However it became - Combat-mode: Hurrah! Not in combat-mode: Interest lost. My favorite characters were the young princess and the 2nd male lead. Her character was beautifully written and you’ll find it easy to fall in love with him.
The foreign characters (for the most part) where just misrepresented; it made them out to be pretentious, self-righteous buffoons. Apart from the acting (talk about cliché), I actually felt insulted, and I don’t even know who to blame - director?casting director?writer?actors?all of the above?

What I liked about this drama: the action scenes, the romance, the bro-mance, all around some good ole’ psychological warfare. I had no hopes going in, so I’m not disappointed. Towards the end: The romance between the leads lost its spark and the bro-mance was still cute but not as strong. The characters, to me, are the heart of drama. The problem was that, yes, I liked the characters, but, no, I was not emotionally invested in either of them (didn’t love, didn’t hate). There were so much emotions bouncing off the walls. Very little of it hit me (I only almost-teared twice).
I would have given it a lower score but, minus the cringe-worthy foreigners and the villain (hey, you might like him) there was just so much more awesome.

You could skip this one if you're not drawn by the synopsis - you're not missing much

Kings2Hearts has been on my Plan To Watch list for a while. I was intrigued to watch it because it was a highly recommended drama, especially for Descendants of the Sun lovers, which I am. I liked quite a few things about this drama such as the story being about North and South Korea having peaceful negotiations between each other and the royalty plot concept for the main characters.

I initially dropped this drama after a couple episodes in and didn't come back to it for months because I found Ha Ji Won's character to be very inconsistent. But since dropping this drama, I ended up watching quite a few dramas with Ha Ji Won and Lee Seung Gi and I was itching to see them in something else and kept coming back to this one. I pushed through the poor initial character writing of Ha Ji Won's character in the beginning of King2Hearts and found a pretty decent story with some nasty twists and a SUPER crazy (truly insane) villain.

Overall, I feel just so-so about this drama. I found certain things exceptionally enjoyable to watch, but I found other things uninteresting to me. Probably my favorite episode was when the Koreans are competing in the WOC competition - that was cool and pretty intense!
The romance between the 2 MC's was okay, but I wasn't swooning over them or anything. The side characters were also pretty decent and enjoyable to watch.

The only real negative to this drama I found was that it didn't *have* to be 20 episodes. I think they could have definitely shrunk down the plot to fit into 16 episodes and that would have removed a lot of the B.S. of the bad guys winning or plotting again and AGAIN. -.- I found it annoyingly redundant by the end (but the resolution was good, so I wasn't too annoyed anymore haha).

Something I'd also like to note - I've done a lot of research on North Korea and read a lot of defector testimonials/autobiographies out of my own interest and curiosity....the portrayal of North Korea is entirely unrealistic and romanticized in this drama, which is fine, since it's a piece of fiction, but it *was* something I noticed.

King2Hearts isn't a drama I would go out of my way to recommend and I won't be watching it again.... It just wasn't good enough to warrant that kind of admiration. It wasn't a waste of time and if you have a real hankering for Ha Ji Won or Lee Seung Gi, it'll definitely satisfy you.

The OST was well-placed, but nothing terribly remarkable.

This a totally biased review so lol there is no need to think to much about it.

What to say well I have to say that if you want to start this drama one may need to be ready to throw tantrums, to cry, laugh, outraged, enraged, happy being means and one must be also able to handle disappointment , because their are many time you will be ready to throw in the towel and go in quest of the writers for a plan murder of your own. Other than that this was a really good story with a really consistent acting, if you take out Yoon Je Moon who I really think was trying to hard to portray the psychotic evil character of Kim Bong Gu, and if you also take out the poor foreign actors that were supposed to play the different English speaking people on the drama, then you are left with truly amazing performance... My hat goes to Jo Jung Suk as
Eun Si Kyung, he played his role to the perfection to the point that when comes the end you will discovered a really powerful reason to go and hunt down the writers like I say !!.. Lee Seung Ki as Prince Lee Jae Ha truly shows the maturity that Seung Ki had gone through for being always portray as a little boy who doesn't want to grow up, he show us that he can also act in the skin of a grown man who is not afraid of respectability, but still know how to nurse the child inside him who his ready to make you see the beauty of life when all else seems dark. Ha Ji Won as Kim Hang Ah of reaffirm her title has an action queen, but she also shows us that we cannot count her out for the girly roles either.Lee Yoon Ji Princess Lee Jae Sin shows us that with a pure heart and determination nothing is impossible. Well I could go on and on about each actors.

MY only disappointing with this but I still gave it a 10 anyway is that I feel that they rush the end because they realize that they did not have any additional episode so it was rush.

But don't let this little disappointment make you skip on this drama, because well I don't know it's just awesome.

Am I the only one that finds it incredible impressive how King 2 Hearts becomes exponentially more awesome with every episode?

I mean seriously.

This show is amazing.

Let me just make a short list of all the things I love about this drama:

* Just when you think it has hit the peak of its awesomeness, they bring something else to the table that tops it, always surprising me with different plot twists.
* It continuously blows my mind how its a 20 episode show and there has yet to be a slow or only mildly interesting episode. Each episode brings forth new, steadily building climax and isn’t flattening out or losing steam like I’ve seen so many other shows do when they get 3/4 of the way through.
* For the most part the characters are very interesting, unique, and layered (and for once the mother-in-law isn’t an evil witch; bonus points just for that).
* The show centers around two separate relationships so there is no miserable love squares. Both couples have unique, beautiful yet unpredictable relationships (and they all have great chemistry, additional bonus points).
* It has a constantly, and realistically, evolving plot with evolving characters to match. The growth throughout the show in each individual character is very apparent.
* It is a pleasant blend of romance, angst, politics, and action with comedy sprinkled here and there. It never dwells too long on one subject which keeps it fresh and interesting.

The only reason why I give it 9's for music and rewatch value is because the music is great it just isn't wow. I don't notice it very much which can be good and bad. That means that it flows very nicely with the scenes and the music queues are spot on, but the actual music itself I never bother listening to because it's nothing terribly interesting? I guess it's good just not good enough that I think "wow I want to buy this OST album"
As for the rewatch value, I never give any drama a 10 because it's quite impossible, for at least myself, to enjoy a drama the second time around as much as the first time. This is one of those shows that has some great twists and turns that keeps the plot very lively but watching it the second time around knowing what would happen just wouldn't be the same. So 9/10

But overall it's quite excellent! I give this a 10. Highly recommend this one to all drama watchers!

before i go into anything else, al take this moment to welcome my new husband into my bias list. jo jung suk/eun shi kyung is mtfkn awsome. this boy is the perfect example of loyalty. straight forward no games professional till the end. lee seung ki is my other favorite strong actor. the show is well written and the cast is great too. my favorite parts was watching hang ah/ha ji won interact with his dad, there were some pretty funny moments btwn them. the other funny parts was btwn princess and kyung shi. the princess is very outgoing and fun and tries to interact with kyung but because of his status (bodyguard) he's very professional no matter what and will not laugh or smile of feel so the tension made it so funny. they were the second best couple of the show and had my favorite kiss scene too. the last episodes are emotional and the revenge is just too much
the biggest problem that i had with the show is john mayer and his people. how is it that he's lived outside korea for the longest time and comes back controlling a group of non koreans and doesnt speak english at all. that was just a flaw, i wished he could speak a good amount of english while conversing with them or they should speak some korean. i mean seriously, did these people all go to school to learn korean that why they understood everything he said............this is the reason for a 9 and not 10 points.

This drama is just simply fantastic!!
It hits all the right spots...whether humor,romance,emotions,action,mystery...everything.

The drama is made very beautifully with excellent cinematography. The plot is very tight and you never get a boring moment anytime. The acting by everyone is excellent.Lee Seung-ki in the titular role is so good, especially in comedy scenes,he is simply awesome.Ha Ji Won in this badass role is very good as usual. But it's Jo Jung Suk who steals the show with his powerful acting and screen presence.Lee Yoon Ji is also really good. Not to forget Yoon Je-moon as the big bad guy,he also delivers a great performance.

But it's not like the show is flawless..but they are very minute ones.

The drama has a lot of heart..which is the most important thing!!

King 2hearts......title is very apt
At first i just thought to see this for ha ji won and lee seung ki as i love there acting...but in this drama .. you ll be seriously absorbed in there acting..each and every character has been acted out so perfectly that it feels as if we are seeing something totally live...its so addicting...
The genre i thought was of only romance and comedy...but in this i experienced so many genres..every role they are acting out has shown so much emotions and feelings that i find it too thrilling to watch...some scenes are nervewrecking and some are so deep touching that you ll nt be able to wait for next episode
I dont think i can rewatch it again but for one time watching ..absolutely try it or you ll never know what true acting is!!
