Masterpiece. I actually don fancy action drama so much but I give a 10 ratings to King 2 Heart. Thanks to our leads Lee Seung Ki and Ha Ji Won. LSK has the spoilt kid look but brainy. HJW as usual a action lady just like in Secret Garden.I would admit the new guy Eun Si Kyung is very good in carrying his role as royal guard. Who is this guy? Its thriller, Lee Seung Ki is really good in his role as the King. I just hate it whats happen to Eun Si Kyung on episode 17. I really enjoy their WOC, I think I am going to enroll in on of the boot camp game. I think its fun. Overall, the story is great...co operation as team, love and trust is all about. Great drama.

This is my first review so sorry if it sound weird ~.~ or I've made it too long and you've lost interst....

I really liked this drama because it had an intimidating, crazy, power-hungry antagonizer/bad guy which may sound cliché but this one really gave me goosebumps. First off, Yoon Je Moon's acting belittled the protagonist/good guys not because he was physically intimidating or that he shouted at them, in fact some may call him a "fat man" with a load of acne scares, but it was because he was so calm and relaxed as though he had all the cards...as if he knew all along that he would win. It was that especially what made me always tense up and worry for his victims.

What I didn't like was some of the foreigner's acting sometimes it felt stiff and awkward but overall their part in the Drama was very effective and showed Kim Bong Gu's (aka Yoon Je Moon)influence around the world. But some of the attention to the details was missing e.g. one of Yoon Je Moon's right hand man (or should I say woman) grew up in England yet she had an Aussie accent. But then again it's audience is the Korean people so I guess they wouldn't mind. So overall the Drama was flawless.

I know that you should never believe everything that the Media tells you, but stories are made from some truth, so this drama gave me an understanding of what the royal family's role is in society is particularly since the country that I live in-England-has a rather famous Royal family *cough, cough*!!! ^.^

This drama was just awesome. I loved the plot, I loved the suspense, I loved all the characters. I also can say I don't think I've cried more watching any other drama, and I've watched a lot of them. It's my first time watching a war-related drama, I usually stray from them, but I liked the cast so I gave it a shot and I'm so glad I did.

This review may contain spoilers
i find the story somehow cute but i couldn't accept many things
somehow i like and dislike and i felt the plot many times was shallow

first of all the character of the Female Lead didn't convince me at all
she was one of the top special forces so how come she is with that weak personality

the male lead i dislike what he did to the Female Lead for a long time with no need till he admitted he loved her
and i was fond more with the story of the second leads and i was so frustrated when they killed him

the story could be more deeper than that

Where to begin? WHERE TO BEGIN!??? I honestly don't know! It is simply marvellous! Actually no scrap that, there are no words that can possibly do it justice, although I must say Rita's review hit the nail on the head and I fear my review will be a mere nonsensical ramble now xD.

Righto, I'll attempt to do this drama the justice it deserves with my prattling.
Initially I honestly thought it would be your typical Korean rom-com. In fact that is the precise reason I chose to watch it in the first place as I was in the mood for something lighthearted, filled with abundant humour after having seen a drama of a more serious and tragic nature. Well boy was I in for a surprise, and a pleasant surprise at that because it not only satisfied my yearning for pure romance and comedy but it was simultaneously, beautifully packaged up with real life issues. Issues in relation to politics, the opinions of the masses, the ravaging nature of the media and how they love to latch on to anything that'll catch the public's attention, (in other words: scandalous), patriotism, trust not only in yourself but those around you, and of course love, to mention but a few.
Love in this drama is portrayed in such a pure and powerful way. It highlights just how far it can go when accompanied with mutual faith and trust. Truly something to admire.

The acting was impeccable and the chosen instrumental themes (perhaps I'm a tad biased here as I adore instrumental and classical music) in my eyes, or rather ears, was simply both elegant and spine tingling! It had the desired effect on me, that I can safely say unless of course my reactions were just plain bizarre and abnormal (which wouldn't really be a surprise! :P). Ha Ji-won and Lee Seung-gi make a such a wonderful duo in this drama, they honestly do. They'll have you bawling your eyes out with tears of joy, sorrow and even plain shock! The two of them have definitely won me over, although technically I'd already been a fan of Ha Ji-won's work (I'm a huge fan of her strong female roles) so saying she's won me over with her performance in here would be a bit of a fib. Lee Seung-gi on the other hand, it was actually my first time seeing him in action. I hadn't a clue what his acting was like, his quirks, or the sorts of dramas/movies he's usually involved in, so seeing him for the first time in all his glory, and talent added to the overall spectacular feel of the drama.

Seriously guys, just watch it! This drama is not something anyone can possibly hate with every cell in their body. It is just not possible to hate it so, unless you're referring to the villains, in which case it is perfectly fine to do so (personally speaking, the insanity of the main villain and even his lackeys was something I found to be both incredulously hilarious and infuriating - still it only added to the little gem that this drama is). Go on, WATCH IT!!! You're bound to fall in love with it ^_^.

The most thrilling drama I've ever seen. FOR SURE.

This was a mixture of romance and action. And it was just great. It was soo interesting that I would go crazy if I couldn't see the next episode right away.

The storyline was a masterpiece. Even though there were ONE "solution" at the end I didn't like, I can't say it ruined the drama.
There were sad parts, aslo cute and romatic parts, but mostly it was filled with action - thrilling and interesting parts.

Actors were brilliant!
I'm not a rewatcher and I wouldn't rewatch it because it's not that interesting as you already know what will happen, but there are some scenes I would like to watch again.

I'll give it 9 points because I only give 10 to my most favourite ones. It's very good, but not my absolute favourite. sorry..

But still, I strongly recommend you to watch this drama. It's a drama with a strong and thrilling storyline and it won't leave you unaffected.

So this drama ended up having two things: some of the most heartfelt and well-written scenes in dramaland: between the King and his beloved, between the previous King and the new King, between the King and his friend, between Hang Ah and her father, etc, etc, and 2) some of the poorest execution of a portrayal of international folks out there.

I loved King2Hearts a lot, (like a lot), but it had the MOST ATROCIOUS "American" "actors" I had ever seen....then and still now. I don't know where they found those people, but they weren't American, for sure. However, what was even worse was that they were such bad actors it was embarrassing, and it made their scenes unwatchable. The villains were so bad it became cartoonish (and not cartoonish like anime or something cool.)

And I want to go on record here disagreeing with anyone who is being negative about the FL's character - either her accent or her voice or how she looks. Ha Ji Won could turn her character from cutesy and sweet into a badass in seconds - that's acting skill, folks.

An excellent drama with a great casting

It's one of my favorite dramas. I just finished it watching for the second time and still made me emotional, not matter that I knew what was coming, I laughed and cried anyway. I'm usually emotional (with dramas), but this is one of the few that actually made me feel, really feel. I love, love, love the main characters. The female lead is amazing, such a complex character, a believable human being. And the male lead... wow! It's one of my favorite developments of a character the one of Jae Ha, he becoming the leader that the nation needs and a man that the FL can respect it's such a worth journey. My only "complaint" (if I can call it that) it's the captain and the princess, you know... but anyway, it was beautiful, an emotional kdrama that always will be in my rewatch list.

A drama worth sticking out.

This drama started out slow but only got better. This isn't to say that I didn't enjoy the first episodes but that I found myself enjoying the episodes significantly more after around episode 6 or so.  So I encourage you to stick with it if you don't get all the hype at first.I'd never seen Lee Seung Gi in anything before and honestly I waited so long to watch this because I'm kind of shallow and was convinced he wasn't my type.  But like most dramas I put off watching, I can say that I'm mad at myself for doing so.  Why? Because Lee Seung Gi is great!  His character's evolvement from being immature and entitled to becoming a responsible, wise and deserving individual is touching to say the least.  Lee Jae Ha goes through so much and maintains his dignity and morals even through the toughest of battles.  Battles that would drive a lesser man to crumble only to never stand up again.  Ha Ji Won I wasn't as worried about, as I'd seen her in Secret Garden and all anyone ever has to say about her is good things.  She performed well as I expected.  Her character Kim Hang Ah is consistently strong and supports those around her with everything that she has.  The responsibilities she is given she embraces and even when those around her doubt her she remains calm and level headed.  But for me the real scene stealers would have to be Jo Jung Suk and Lee Yoon Ji as Eun Shi Kyung and Princess Lee Jae Shin respectively.  I'm sorry but Jo Jung Suk is just amazing and anytime he's on screen I literally can't even take my eyes off him.  He makes me feel for the character in such a deep way.  His character, Eun Shi Kyung, was honorable and self sacrificing.  He believed in those around him with all of his heart and his loyalty and willingness to do whatever it took to protect his king and nation had my heart rooting for him every scene he was in.  Lee Yoon Ji plays Princess Lee Jae Shin to perfection.  She portrays her pain and tortures very realistically.  I wouldn't have begrudged either of these characters more screen time, in fact I think I sometimes liked them more than the main couple. The story was well developed and the pacing was pretty consistently maintained throughout.  This drama does really well appealing to the emotions which I think is one of the most important parts of a kdrama.  I definitely balled more than once.  However, there was one particular writing choice that I would have to disagree with and if you watched it I'm sure you'll know what I'm talking about.  I don't honestly feel that it was necessary, and yes not every choice a writer makes has to be out of necessity but I really don't think it added anything.  It felt thrown in last minute and it didn't help me root for any particular character more than I already was so in that sense I would have to argue that the scene took away from the drama more than it added.  Also some of the English was pretty cringe but I can let that go.This drama's really good! And I wasn't expecting to enjoy it that much cause I'm not really into the military or political genres. So you should watch it!  It's worth your time.

K2H was such fun. I really enjoyed it, mostly the cast and characters. The story has some issues, though. It mostly mixes the military genre with, loosely named, political melodrama, and mixes in romantic elements. This sometimes throws the tempo off in a few instances and the shift of attention can be a challenge. I personally took a couple of days off the drama whenever there was a significant genre shift happening, just to freshen up.

That being said, I felt that the military passages were done very well. The first couple of episodes, that many deem as a bit slow, were on of the highlight of the drama for me. It builds a strong backbone out of the characters and you quickly see that Hang Ah is the one you are going to root for the hardest. Jea Ha is kind of a different story, but has those shining moments pretty much since the beginning. They are a quick otp, mostly thanks to the great chemistry between Ha Ji Won and Lee Seung Gi. They were very well matched. And damn, Ha Ji Won can do anything, she's amazing.

The political melodrama had some interesting moments, but a lot of it was overshadowed by the antagonist who was quite over the top and sometimes did not balance it and crossed into the silly. I get what they were trying to say with his character and point of mixing business with the aims of private companies, but it just rubbed me the wrong way. The romance line was sweet, but used some of the motives repeatedly, which also hindered the show a bit.

Other than that, I loved it. The cast is great, even the secondary characters are amazing. There are also some twists that I did not see coming at all. K2H is innovative and in more than couple of things ahead of its time. I will definitely come back to my favourite parts.

A very respectable drama but...

I like to call King 2 Hearts a dramas drama just like how there is a singers singer . For example , Susan Boyle. A lot of artists look up to Susan Boyle for her vocal control , richness and intonation . She is literally perfect but us listeners are not exactly rushing to hear her latest offering or filling up stadiums in a frenzy . She is a tasteful option much like King 2 Hearts that really excelled in a tight plot ,near perfect character progression, politics, history , depiction and set up. I would implore a bunch of script writers to glean from King 2 Hearts to see that it is very possible to have all types of elements and still have a tight piece of work that does not bust at the seams.

However - like Susan Boyle , X factor and pathos are thoroughly lacking in TK2H. I really failed to overall emotionally resonate with all aspects of the story . I found it hard to pick up most of the time but when I did watch - I would watch in long bursts but I really did not find it wholly engaging .Emotional resonance is lacking and it’s the main couple itself . I mostly fast forwarded their scenes together and struggled to like the look of them together. They are individually competent actors their screen aptitude together was particularly dismal for me. I also found the dramatic tension puerile in execution. A bit over played . Everything was necessary but it really was not breaking new ground and I put up with the hysterics for the sake of the plot. Insert unnecessary death scene but anyways ( shrug)

On a positive note -I commend the drama for having each character have a central conflict . It added dynamism and made for an enduring watch.Character evolution was also top notch and great ladies too. The ladies were not ones to shy away from their feelings and they owned their narrative! I liked that depiction. Moreover - the supporting cast were the best moments. The Princess and The Captain's story line brought much needed pathos and musicality ( they sang a song , swoooooon) and the global presence of the villain was very intriguing.

The royal aspect was fun and the insertion of the Korean separation made for depth. I realised that ,perhaps, the worst part about the Korean War was that the people were just thrown into it. It wasn't just about the Koreans picking an ideology and fighting against each other. The commentary on that made for pleasant ponder.

The music was pretty decent too . The ballads and instrumentals complemented the atmosphere and epic scale of the drama. I am glad to know that "Missing You" - the main leads song, won awards and also Jo Jong Suk scooped best new actor . Those who love him should give TK2H a watch too!

OVERALL-It is pretty epic though . The deaths, kidnapping and love declarations and the torment of the war and separation make this drama a must watch and very unique but I found the King 2 Hearts to be just okay in the end hence I cannot give it anything above 8.
