Cute, happy fluff

Highly recommended if you're looking for some light romance that will make you feel happy and fluffy after watching. What I love about this drama is we start seeing the happy fluff from pretty much the very beginning, and there's no draggy plotline or crazy second male/female lead who's here to ruin it for everyone.
Not to say there aren't misunderstandings or bad bad villains somewhere, but those problems tend to get resolved quickly and in a satisfactory way, and only serve to improve the characters' relationships.

After ep 14, it stopped making sense... and started making me uncomfortable.

After ep 14, it stopped making sense. The beginning half was funny and had a refreshing, lovable-without-being-cringe-y, clumsy, and amazingly BLUNT female lead, who was brave enough to do things that would only happen in a drama. It also had a no-nonsense, rational, and caring male lead, who reacted realistically! The female lead knew when she should cut her losses and own up to her schemes quickly. It was lovely to see certain conflicts resolved with such speed without repeat, but still have the male lead give her more opportunity to be around him the more he fell for her. They were a lovely combo that caused me to binge straight through to ep 14 (amazing tension) and made me anxiously wait for the next episodes. The ML wasn't your typical overbearing, unreasonable, cold ML...I loved his interactions with Ji Qiu. Around ep 14, I could even justify some of the ML's antics to provoke the FL, hoping that he would have a frank discussion with the FL in ep 15, but.... that never happened.

I binged all the way from ep 15 to ep 24 with growing disappointment. After ep 15, a lot of the vehicles that drove the main romance were ignored, while a monster pile of other conflicts with new characters that were thrown in and resolved within minutes. There were a lot of unrealistic scenarios! While I'm glad for some quick conflict resolution, these new conflicts were unnecessary! The first half had plenty of other conflict that could be flushed out and resolved! While the two other pairings were cute and acceptable, how the drama went about creating one relationship (Si Qi's) and creating conflict in another (Ji Qiu's) was out of nowhere and hard to buy in. I would have loved to see more of a sisterhood between all of the ladies - sooo much potential there that the drama barely cracked the surface. FL's love rival had so much potential to be a supportive rival/sister and that was annoyingly destroyed. She barely had any screen time. I would loved to see the girls gang up on the ML for being a dork and putting the FL through (albeit brief) anguish. Qing Wu and Qi Nian's conflict should've been resolved earlier! That would have made Qing Wu's relationship more palatable, but also her commentary about her partner being legal to marry was so worrisome (smh!).

I love a fluffy cheesy romance and have seen my fair share, but in the latter half, moments got so trope-y (ML went into full overbearing CEO mode with some scenes) that my eyes rolled to the back of my head too many times to count (still squealed my fair share though for some scenes). First half, he was a solid balance of a hidden romantic, then went into full blown romantic, before going back into a repressed, controlling romantic for the last few episodes haha. He didn't ask her opinion for any major decisions involving the two of them, didn't express his feelings toward her properly, and admitted that he was a control freak. He wasn't before! He was a bit harsh to others, no-nonsense, warm to people close to him, and a workaholic before. He had this great storyline with his brother (Si Qi) that was resolved soooo beautifully, but then did a 180 with the female lead and said, "I'm going to be as controlling with you as I was with my brother even though that blew up in my face and I painfully and actively spent the last few years trying to make reparations (like wtf!). Female lead was basically a cheerful, straight-talking bunny, who somehow slinked into a submissive shadow in the latter half. When some of the "romantic" clips in the latter half were released, I actually couldn't watch them because they were that cringey/not romantic.

I was uncomfortable with some scenes with some side characters that skirted consent and harassment... but it's dramaland where these things are unfortunately normalized and utilized to brew conflict. I thought the drama had so much potential, so I'm left very disappointed. It started out being fresh and new and fell back to old C-drama antics and dramatics. The ending is pretty satisfying and cute though.

I loved the quality of the ML's acting until ep 14 (idk, his script was hard to deliver, so props to him) and loved the FL overall (she had plenty of cringe-y moments but was not annoying!) Xin xin (from Le Coup de Foudre <33) and Ji Qiu were played to perfection. I was impressed/moved by FL and Ji Qiu's crying scenes. Love the brothers' conflict and how it was resolved. Loved the grandpa. The FL's friends barely had screentime, but I liked their dynamic with her.

Romantic, Fluffy and a whole lot of cute moments (FOR ALL CRAZYY ROMANTICS AT HEART)

Honestly speaking I don't really like writing reviews, but considering that this drama had quite a few negative ratings regarding episodes 18 to 24 I was compelled to write a review.
The drama is must watch for all those romantics at heart who would do anything to get away from the real world to enter the drama world and experience some cute fully moments that pull the heartstrings in a positive manner. The first few episodes (1-17) were quite entertaining, funny, and sweet. The female lead was the highlight in the first few episodes, she was rather cute in a happy way, not the typical female leads that annoy the anger out of us. She was outspoken, smart, and emotional (good way). The male lead was the typical cold tsundra, however, like every Domeneering male leads he too has his sweet side and a crazy yet hot side and negatives which are balanced out by the female lead character.

Now from episode 18 onwards, the storyline can be quite a roller coaster ride with a lot of fluffy moments and resolved problems, both the leads do end up doing crazy, annoying things. But I personally believe that's how real life is, certain personality traits can make people rethink relations, question themselves and others, have doubts as well as do stupid things in love. Adding to this is the age difference, the age difference can sometimes cause a little trouble in paradise for every relationship.

Moreover, A drama can have a few episodes of stupid actions, only then will it be a drama, and these problems actually make the leads grow and mature. It's not something that we viewers can't handle, rather it's okay, the misunderstandings and jealous actions get solved quite early on in the case of all relationships, from that of siblings, rivals, or the leads themselves.

The story of the 4TH COUPLE (SECRET REVEALED ONLY IN THE LAST 2 EPISODES) was super cute! I loved it personally speaking, although it was just one episode long it was real and cute. The Leads relationship had its ups and downs but again it was amazingly cute in its own way especially for viewers who like seeing The old young relationship.
The second leads were the exact opposite of the male leads, it was the young man and older women relationship, again it was sexy. The third lead couple were meh, it talked more about the bond between them than a romantic relationship

Overall, I personally liked the good bits and the bad bits of the drama, ESPECIALLY THE ENDING WHICH WAS EXTREMELY CUTE CAUSE OF ALL THE HEARTFELT CONVERSATIONS. Every drama has it's good and bad, it's actually a balance in this drama, and the character growth is impressive as well.

I would suggest ALL ROMANTICS PLEASE WATCH IT, YOU WILL NOT REGRET IT CAUSE it is CUTE AS HELL

My Top 3 Best Drama in 2020

This is a very well written drama. One of the best from beginning to end. I love the way each character develops and how the main lead male character knew what he wanted from the beginning. I like how the story told for several of the supporting characters went through out the episode and we got to see an ending in the last episode. There was no such an evil person that you would hate just one jerk but we ignore him. It was a gift for a very hard winter that we are going thru. I put it in my top 3 favorite. The actors performance was great and I love the chemistry they had with each other. I hope we can see more dramas like this in the future or even a second season of this one.

Lighthearted and cute drama! Sadly, just a few things that didn't make sense

SPOILERS. A LOT OF SPOILERS.

What I liked about the drama:

Chemistry between the main leads
- This may just really be preference but compared to other Chinese dramas, I enjoy the scenes where the Yanxin and Qi NIan are together. I really define chemistry as how well they act together as a couple and this drama did pretty well. As Qi Nian was pursuing him, I could already see fondness and indulgence in his expressions and actions—something I don’t really expect from a supposedly aloof male lead.
- The female lead is really something when acting out the most absurd scenes in the first half. I’ll give her credit for that.

Revealing the truth of the conflict between Lu Qingwu and Qi Nian
- I thought Xiao Li was suspicious but I really didn’t think he’s the culprit. How the conflict was revealed and the Qingwu and Qi Nian resolve it is also great, quite rational actually on both sides but it would’ve been great to see Qi Nian a bit more lively that she was blaming the wrong person the whole time.
- I don’t recall why Xiao Li favored Qingwu though and the plot would’ve been strengthened if this was emphasized.
- All that said, this plotline would have made sense before the Qingwu and Siqi became official as a couple. It’s established earlier on that Siqi is an anti-fan and though he starts to have a certain fondness for QIngwu (from the fireworks display event), I think it’s out of character that he didn’t ask her first about what happened to writing Thither Cloud, especially when he seemed so passionate about finding the truth just a few episodes earlier.

It’s lighthearted
- I’m a fan of complex plots. I really am. Sky Castle is a favorite of mine, along with the novel Mo Dao Zu Shi and manga Kuroshitshuji. However, it’s fun to just relax and let a cute drama play in the background.

Some things I think could’ve had better execution:

Lu Qingwu and Ji Siqi
- You can say that Siqi felt too heartbroken and needed the rebound after finding Qi Nian with his brother. But, I find it hard to believe he can like her that quickly—did not feel it at all. One of my suggestions was already mentioned but I think it was important that he sort out his own feelings. A confession to FL isn’t really necessary but I think his main motivation for entering Rongqin (? I’m sorry if I spelled it wrong) is because he loves creating. He’s an artist (who needs income)! Perhaps creating a short comic would’ve helped him make peace and get over it! A little “love letter to my past love” is pretty cute before he moves on.
- They were pretty entertaining towards the end tho. It’s the development of their relationship I have a tad problem with hehe

Ji Yanxin is controlling…since when?
- Ji Yanxin is so handsome, first of all. He came off as this emotionally mature and calm lead as he was being pursued, and I loved it! But I really raised my brow when he admitted he tends to be controlling to the FL. Considering the age gap and difference in life experiences, it’s alarming that he’d say that to Qi NIan AND just ask her to yk “deal with it” in a way. And Qi Nian just goes with the flow!! Girl, I know he’s your dream guy but it’s your freedom we’re talking about!
- It was the most iffy thing to see him arrange the marriage without discussing it to her OR PROPOSING. This dude was smitten with her and you tell me he didn’t go all out with proposing???
- The build-up wasn’t really there either U__U. Literally, after this creepy-ass actor was making a move on her you take her to get married?? This part was a real mess I’m sorry :<
- This is also why I think the reveal of the truth between Qingwu and Qi Nian should’ve been earlier, it could’ve been considered as their first hurdle and development point!
- They could’ve emphasized the more romantic and sentimental part of his personality when they got together. Instead of…controlling? The man kept a wooden thingy that held Qi Nian’s wishes for a good marriage (I think?) until adulthood! Show us more, give us more!

Creepy dudes getting close to Qi Nian and not really getting punished for it

- The day a shady and creepy side character is not used as a plot device and not being punished for their actions in a romance drama is…far far away. In the first place, I think a different plot should’ve been used to develop the relationship of Yanxin and Qi Nian to facilitate the transition into marriage—Qi Nian could’ve handled this dude in 5 minutes because she’s way too in love with Yanxin to even bother with other guys clearly trying to make a move on her. You did not embody cringe in the first few episodes just for this, I believe in you Qi Nian.
- THE ACTOR-IMPERSONATING-QI BAO-OWNER was HELLA HELLA creepy and came off as a way to Yanxin to again, assert his dominance. Should’ve been scrapped.

Minor things that bothered me:
- Qi Nian losing her energy towards the last part. Her outspoken personality and shamelessness were really something.
- Very weird of the ML of the third couple to just. up and leave. like for why.

I would rewatch for the first half, skip like ep 16-23 and end with 24-25 honestly! I usually watch dramas like this after something heavy anyway :> I'll give it a 5 for that.

Anime artist pursues straight headed professor romance and other side character romance

This drama is definitely romance focused! if you like romance as the main storyline , you will like this one. I was beyond excited to see the trailer, because it had some super cute squealing romantic moments.

This drams's storyline is the female lead is a anime artist/ draws for a living. She is forced to draw anime of young fangirl romance, which she is not her strong area. She has to draw a romance anime but she doesnt have much experience. She is told she needs to find someone that will make her heart beat. Her first encounter is when the male lead's dog called qi bao runs up to her, she decides to bring him back to the owner. He dashes off back to the owner and they meet. Qi bao gets too excited and knocks them down ( he's a golden retriever), in an attempt to get up qi bao knocks them again and they kiss lol. This is the first time she feels her hear beat fast. She though she was having an heart attack ( lol she is naive) Thus beginning a series of trying to pursue the professor. She even becomes his assistant. The male lead is a stone cold, super smart, blunt architect/professor. He doesnt even remember the names of his assistants and they dont go longer for more than a week. The female lead is a quirky, cute, pretty straight forward person. She does all she can to have the professor remember her name. All this time she is pursuing the male lead she is trying to get more material for drawing her anime novel and then eventually actually falls in love with him. Later she even becomes his assistant/ help take care of his house/him.

The male lead and his younger brother are on bad terms, There is a room in the male lead's house that the female lead cannot go to. There is a person who he misses, turns out its the brother. They had a very bad argument and he decided to run away. Coincidentally the younger brother is talented in drawing the anime that young teens/ girls likes. They end up living in the same house. He helps her draw and becomes her assistant.

The main lead's pairing is super cute. Lol i love it when she day dreams. That part of when she was under the desk of the professor , such a sweet moment. They are a cute couple and have good chemistry. I dont mind me a over bearing ceo >_<. But the female lead was kinda annoying in the sense that he didnt trust that the male lead would like her, like she wasnt fit or matched for him. To be she had a low self esteem. I mean he already told you he loves you!! Just believe it.

To me there is not much plot development because its mostly focused on romance... There is also two side line characters who get their respective romances. The male lead's younger brother and the older lady who is famous anime novelist. The other is the cousin of the male lead ( who's like 20 years old and the male lead's friend. I have to say the friend is like 10 + years older than her.

Honestly was not a fan of the older lady and the younger brother. I mean she isnt that old but I didnt like her initially because she stole the rights of the first anime novel that the female lead drew, which in turn made the older lady famous and not giving any credit to the female lead. ( later on turns out there was some confusion/miscommunication) After that cleared up i liked her character more. The brother went from liking the female lead to the older lady kinda a little to fast?

Like another review said, the good parts were done/finished up a little too soon. I felt it kinda draggy towards like ep 18 ? Then it just went in the direction of the side characters romance.... Maybe because it all turned out to smooth. I mean professor didnt get mad at her for not telling him the real reason why she was with him.....Ummm female lead is to easily strayed /tricked by the supposedly fiancee of the male lead. She then becomes untrusting of him...

But besides that its a cute watch and if you are a romantic then this is a good watch for you.

Funny & Very entertaining

The story maybe so common and quite dumb. It is so alike with Kiss Me. However, I find myself laughing and entertained. I don’t normally have reviews unless it is a 10 for me but this one I have to.

Female and male lead have a good chemistry. The Male lead gave justice to his character and it is so good. Second leads are also at par with the main leads.

All in all I find it very entertaining and I did enjoyed it. JUST PURELY FOR YOUR ENTERTAINMENT. No dark moments and dragging jealousy. LOVE IT!

What an interesting drama that left me with a lot of conflicted emotions about how to review it. It certainly is one of the better in contemporary Chinese dramas, but... well, it featured some questionable plot developments which made me deduct some stars.

The plot is very interesting, and to be frank, quite refreshing. I really liked that the female lead was straight forward and from the beginning to end she was very clear about being into the main lead only. I also liked *SPOLIER* how because there was almost no chasing period from the male lead, they covered how insecure she felt and they had to have several conversations to solidify their relationship. *SPOILER ENDS* Her pursuit of the main lead makes this drama really entertaining, and after the couple of introductory episodes, the first about 10-12 were super interesting and I continued to watch with a big interest.

However, the tempo of the drama is greatly disturbed by the other characters who, don't get me wrong, are interesting and all, take up so much screen time, that the balance is off and some episodes are tedious to get through, especially in the second half.

Still, there is so much here that outweighs the minor setbacks and I especially appreciate that the characters have so much agency and so much to explore, that there is something going on until the end of the drama.

For me, it was worth a watch, I enjoyed it and played with my phone during the boring parts. Also, a little heads-up, if you watch in YouTube, there is a lot of muted parts (they are not extensive though).

Ridiculously Comedic Romcom

Would I say I hatewatched it to the end? Probably. But this romcom's romance portions was so consistently cloyingly sweet until the end, to the point it felt so ridiculous and funny, so I stayed for the laugh.

This drama is simple, everyone's out there looking for love, none of the conflicts were serious enough to stress you out, and their acting were pretty good to make it enjoyable to watch. It has multiple relationship, and each of them has their own dynamics that kept them going. I skipped every so often, but the pace is quite slow so it doesn't really matter.

If you are looking for an ideal romance, with healthy relationships all the green flags and character developments, maybe look elsewhere. But if you are a simple romcom enjoyers, maybe this will entertain you.

super super cute fluff drama

This was a really cute drama and I liked how they made different personalities match each other. The acting was cute and I liked how they dealt with the issue of families and how they can hurt each other. I hated that we only focused on his (ML) family and we didn't see much of hers (FL). It was a little annoying that he could be controlling at times but he was honest about it and it wasn't as bad as "Well Intended Love". The second couple was super super cute and I loved that Siqi dressed like a little bby but was super older fashioned in his relationship. I liked the Qi Nian always stood up for what she believed in. She was so so cuteeee! She reminds me of Xing Fei. I didn't like that they did some wacky misunderstanding troupes, it was just dumb and I always hate those in cdramas. The little thing they did at the end was also unnecessary bc they didn't have to have special ties for them to love each other, so that was kinda dumb. I did like however that they didn't prolong the whole "mean girl likes ML and sabotages relationship" but the whole "make her jealous to see if she cares" was stupid. But all in all, super cute drama, everyone in it is adorable and I liked seeing the whole process of behind the scene manhwa and I would love to watch it again one day bc cuteness factor is peak !!

the cuteness overloads

(WARNING SPOILER ALERT)
In the beginning of this series Qi bao caught my eyes, the cute little golden retriever is very intelligent, he is one of the best matchmakers. Who knew Qi nian and Ji yanxin would be a perfect couple. Although the ML is impatient, he has led a potential yet very cute relationship with Qi nian. Everyone thought he was uninterested and cold hearted man but he really isn't. He just wants a cute, funny, kind and caring female being beside him all day long as in his girlfriend. Who knew it would be Qi nian the reckless, funny, very cute FL to come by. Bravery has gave her what she wants which is wanting to date Ji yanxin. If it wasn't for her. No relationship would come between the two ML and FL.
In episode 11 it was my favourite because we all saw how much Ji yanxin has cared about both Qi nian and Ji siqi. No matter what he cared so much about them, he just did not want to show it. Like all men they do not want to be shown weak in any woman's eyes. He wanted to make Qi nian happy so he brought her to the summer firework festival, whatever he did not like he would not allow but with Qi nian her is sure to make her happy no matter what. After 11 episodes Im so happy he confessed on the ferriswheel, who knows how many people replayed the kiss but I certainly did. He continued to protect Qi nian from being clumsy and reckless throughout the whole series which is very cute to see, as a boyfriend of hers that is his job. Even at the autograph session, many have known that Ji yanxin did not like cartoons because of his brother Siqi that ran away and the past he needs to repay with a apology. But in the reason that Qi nian has become a popular cartoonist drawing Ji yanxin as the men prototype he is happy to say that he is a HUGE fan of her books and declared as her boyfriend in episode 20.

Let's talk about the second lead couple, at first I did not like Lu qingwu because she declared at her autograph session of that is her work and only hers when it was Qiyue Qing wu's work of art. Qi nian has worked on it too, which she had done the storyline of so thats why Lu qingwu couldn't continue it after 5 years as a cartoonist. Without anyone knowing because Qi nian knew she would get cyberbullied for copyright of Lu qingwu it was a big problem. I'm glad to say she did not quit as a cartoonist and for the fact that she told Ji yanxin, I like how he respected her. But after when Lu and Siqi dated, I liked how she changed for the reason that it was to be with Siqi forever, so she left Rongping, which is the best decision to make.
I like the second lead couple as well, there was more interest in the relationship between the two.

Ji yanxin and Siqi's relationship as brothers were not the best at first but as they grew strength of forgiveness they bonded once more. I can see the jealously in Siqi's eyes when Qi nian and Ji yanxin were together.. For his past with his brother was bad, he did not want to see him with Qi nian for the fect that he liked Qi nian ever since they were drawing partners. Although Ji yanxin did not have the right to separate them from the apartment, and that he did not want Qi nian to live with Siqi. It was sad for Siqi.

I kinda want to see more of a relationship between Zhao suai and Ji qiu because I did not fully understand.

I want to see more of Ji xiao bing and Zhang ya qin in the future of all romance series. They are really great actors I have definitely liked this drama.

Let's talk about OSTs (original sound tracks)
Can I like you- I love this song because it states how Ji yanxin liked her from the start but led her on because if she saw all the sides of him, would she be able to accept him? the song is based off Ji yanxin's perspective, in the song the lyrics said "pretend not to care, pretend not to want you" "pretend to maintain a perfect distance from you" be deep inside he is desperate that without her his heart is shattered. she is the real keeper if she saw every part of him, the dullness, the cold hearted on the outside but sweet on inside and the nearly impossible ways to get him to love her.
