I wasn't expecting much from this drama at first but it had the charms that keep me attracted. Most of the times you will know what will happen in a scene, but Takeru Sato and Mone Kamishiraishi really matched well as a couple which keeps the interest high. Watching the tsundere turtleneck lover Dr. Tendo and clumsy Sakura's love journey is fun, it has the right tempo for me. Also, the balance of romance-comedy-medical in the story is very well-executed. The side stories did not feel like a distraction, somehow everything is just the perfect amount for me.

So much in love

I'm not a fan on the medical drama I just read all the review and second Takero Satoh my favorite and I like
Kamishiraishi Mone so cute I thought she was 18 or 19. I know the story so common a girl first in love with a handsome rich guy or higher from the status of the girl.
The story quite so cutely I have seen this kind of story what I love it the Lead actors I have seen some dramas of Takero Satoh mostly action its not the typical love story kinda new for me to see Takero Satoh in drama a comedy romance. I have seen The 8-Year Engagement kinda serious. Here it was a new form of drama Takero Satoh mostly more on action one of the reasons I watch it.
At the first episode so much fun that's how I love watching this drama and the phasing of the story so fast that's how I want it and the character of Sakura Nanase so natural, so cute. She was determined to be positive despite Tendo always insult her. Tendo so monster and so serious of his profession as a doctor. Now their angel makes him fall to be in love with this cute Sakura Nanase.
Finally, Tendo is now so sweet and in love with Sakura. I love Tendo even he was afraid to lose Sakura after the accident he still gives freedom to dream Sakura to go study abroad. How do I wish there is a guy like Tendo?
I love the ending so much satisfied with the story. I watch this more than 10 times. I don't have a dull moment in every episode. So much in love with this couple so lovely to watch. I was really hoping they'll end to be a real couple. I'm not just in love with the story but also Takero Satoh and Kamishiraishi Mone team up they're such lovely couples. I was so following them so much hooked of these two so much in love.

If not the best it will be one of the best of 2020

I had my doubts about this show because I was judging the book by it's cover, I thought it was too much girly to me, without any importance and I even postpone multiple times watching it, but definitely it worth it, with an amazing female lead character and a well constructed story, this show will bring the viewers to really touching moments.

I must highlight the first episodes, they were just perfect, the extra episodes of the spin off, the ending song, and as I did before the female lead role with whom you can't help but love her.

AN INSTANT CLASSIC

If you were to judge this drama based on the manga, its original material, or even manga artist`s other work, then what you would find is a slew of typical shoujo tropes and cliché after cliché. However, this is not the case here. Though I like the manga itself, and mangaka`s other work, even I have to admit that her strong point is definitely not her storytelling ability. Thus, I would say that this drama is that rare, special case of what happens when you get talented writers and cast to do their thing. And oh boy, did they do a great job. In fact, I`m quite positive that this drama, along with a handful of others, proved that Japanese romantic dramas still have a lot to offer. Apart from the writing, which I won`t get tired of pointing out just how good it actually is(if the writers were to stick to and/or base their screenplay solely on the manga, this would`ve barely grazed the 6s), the acting is top notch.

Can we just refer to COUPLE CHEMISTRY as Mone and Takeru?Because that`s the perfect way to describe them in this show. Takeru Satoh has proved himself to be a real acting force and he doesn`t disappoint here either. And Mone Kamishiraishi is a real positive discovery for me as well. Now, I do have to advise people not to refer to the character of Kairi Tendo as tsundere. The reason for that being is that, first off I hate male tsunderes(even though I like female ones) and I feel like that would be doing him a huge disservice. From my point of view, male tsunderes are quite selfish, closed off, hard to deal with and petty. However, though Kairi is hard to deal with, he`s also caring, pushes Sakura to work hard and not because of her infatuation with him, but because he wants to see her grow and suceed from the GET-GO(not just when they get together, which I feel like is exactly what makes him different than a typical tsundere, as there is no benefit for him there), which people mistake for tyrannical mistreatment. In reality, Kairi is mature, driven, takes no crap from anyone and is decisive and supportive. He`s a real life husband material. On the other hand, his character plays off of Sakura Nanase really well, who is so likeable that you won`t care that she`s a bit airheaded and that her intentions aren`t really pure at the start. Sakura Nanase is what happens when you do a clumsy, clueless but willing to grow character right. Along the way she starts to genuinely want to help people and become a formidable nurse and that aspiration becomes completely separate from her wanting to date her Kairi. Oh, and does she ever grow.

Now, I`ve already seen comparisons between this drama and Mischievous Kiss, which is fair, as both couple dynamics seem similar.BUT, and there`s a big but. This relationship is infinitely better. As in, spades. Naoki and Kotoko might`ve been the blueprints, but Kairi and Sakura are that ultimate form. Because of one simple point. SUPPORT and CHANGE. I never really got and I still don`t get people`s obsession with Naoki and Kotoko, as their relationship is very volatile, with barely any affection and encouragement. We don`t see major change in any of the characters, and if we do see some, they are usually forced into it. And I just always hated how, up until the very end Kotoko always prostrated herself for a little bit of Naoki`s love, which we`re supposed to find inspiring?NO. Let me tell you what is though. Kairi being a stern but caring human being from the start, always having Sakura in his line of vision to make sure that she`s doing things right and we see him actually changing(not for one day or a few hours) because of her enthusiasm and optimism. And it`s GRADUAL. It doesn`t just happen because she insisted enough. In the same time Sakura took to realize what her actual dream is, and that it doesn`t only involve Kairi(which she proves by moving away and doing a fine job being a nurse in her hometown without him), Kairi learns how to communicate his feelings and he does so readily, we can SEE it. I just love their progression as a couple, it`s so lovely and healthy. There`s no unnecessary jealousy and even Sakura is a bit more mature than most of her shoujo airheaded counterparts. And there is actual communication and no hysterics, which is refreshing to see, always.

Other actors do a fine job as well, but don`t be mistaken, this is definitely a SAKURA and KAIRI show. Now, as for the drawbacks, I would say that the character of the twin sister isn`t really important nor necessary, which they seem to realize quickly as well. And I feel like I would`ve liked a real sleepover scene between the main couple(yes call me a pervert). Overall, this is one top tier Japanese drama and though it does rely on some well established clichés, you won`t care because it`s just that delightful. And rewatchable as well.

The first two episodes could be a bit slow, but it does pick up its pace after that aND BOOM! IT JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER. And before you know it, you're already held captive of this drama hole.

What makes it addictive in my opinion is the chemistry and acting of Mone and Takeru. I have been following their interviews and behind-the-scenes and they really did a good job with portraying their characters. Most especially Takeru!!! He has done some scenes that are out of the script, which only shows how well he knows his character.

I came in to this drama thinking it'll be similar to Itazura na Kiss. BUT I WAS WRONG! I loved Itazura, but that might have also been influenced by my love for the manga or its taiwanese counterpart. For Koi Wa, on the other hand, introduces a similar setup of a doctor-nurse couple but with a slightly different vibe. Hard to explain but Tendo is a bit nicer and shows more emotions towards his colleagues. I wouldn't really compare this to Itazura because IT IS TOTALLY DIFFERENT (JUST WATCH AND SEE LMAO). Sakura's contagious smile will never fail to make you smile :'') You will see how Sakura is very much deserving of Tendo's love. She has such a bright personality + a good heart too.

Overall, I truly enjoyed this drama. It presents a simple yet addictive story. No unnecessary drama and some conflicts got resolved quite quickly (which i loved!!!). IT NEVER LOST ITS SPARK THROUGHOUT THE 10 EPISODES, which definitely puts it on one of my fave dramas this year, and MY MOST FAVE JDRAMA TO DATE. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

PS. THE OST IS A BOMB TOO

This was the kind of drama I was looking for - light, romantic, a lot of cute moments, no villains, happy ending, I don't care if parts of it were unrealistic, this is a drama and what this type of dramas are all about - feel good.

I liked Kairi throughout this drama - I didn't really find him mean even when he was in his devil mode. Once he figured out his feelings for Nanase he was just sweet and straightforward (in his own way) about it. No being indecisive, no misunderstandings - he is cute when he is jealous.

Nanase was an okay character. I found her clumsiness annoying but she made up of for it on other parts of the story so all good.

In two episodes I was thinking, oh no! Are we going through all that cliche of having a lot triangle and heroic sacrifice - nope all resolved by the end of the episode and it just made me like Kairi more :-)

However, I did find Ryuko and Nishi a very awkward couple. I don't have anything about older female/younger male couples, but they were really awkward to watch, I couldn't get into the feeling of them being a couple. It just didn't click..., maybe it the manga they were? But not in this drama.

Happy feelings after watching - rewatch yes, definitely.....I will be having withdrawal symptoms for a while with this drama.

I know a lot of people who watch Kdrama, Cdrama, Tdrama, and Jdrama, are probably worried that this Japanese series have goldfish pecks on some ep. I know that I am one of them, but fear not! the actor are actually going in on the kisses!! I was bored during quarantining so I went on YT to look at some new drama to watch, and randomly my YT pop up on one of their kisses on my recommendation so I clicked it. Holy Moly! my toes and finger were curling and sweating because it was steamy, as in cute and flirty, but not in an erotic. This was what hooked me in to watch the drama. As a bonus, I'll tell you guys that the actors are actually not one dimensional like almost every Jdrama that is overreacting and exaggerated everything.

Same Old Troupe, Brilliantly Executed

I started this drama not expecting much or, actually expecting it to be somewhat like Itazura Na Kiss, in that the female character (Sakura Nanase) is so in love with the male character (Tendo Kairi) that she would do anything for him and at the same time be completely stupid. Boy was I wrong!!

Story:
The story revolves around Sakura Nanase, who fell in love at first sight with Tendo Kairi and from that point on, decides to dedicate her life to making sure she would meet him again, this time as a nurse in the hospital he works at as a doctor. At first, she appears to be stupid, without any practical knowledge, but this is quickly shown as simple inexperience and nervousness. In this case, Sakura-san is quite an observant and kind nurse, who loves to learn, with the goal to become a good nurse. Even-though, the reason she became a nurse is because of Tendo- sensei she does not live for him and is constantly looking for self-growth.

On the other hand we have Tendo-sensei, who is a brilliant cardiologist, very focused on his work and known throughout the hospital as the Devil due to his exacting and hight standards for patient treatment. In the beginning he is not impressed with Sakura-san, since she openly declares her love upon meeting him and her not being up to par in patient treatment. Most importantly he never mistreats her or makes fun of her to the level of Irie Naoki, which in my book makes him a great human being. Although, he immediately notes her care for the patients is sincere and life-saving several times, as is show in several episodes of the drama, so he starts to slowly respect her as a colleague, which allows for later on his developing feelings for her.

Acting/Cast:
I like the two main actors, and their performance is good for this tv series. I feel that Sato Takeru shines in the serious tsundere type of character, which let it be said also makes it rather easy for the actor, since the character does not show a wide range of emotions. In the case of Kamishiraishi Mone, her character is consistently shiny, kind ad lovable, which also does not allow for a wide range of emotions, but I believe she did a good job of it. The side characters do tend to be a little over the top, but that is something common in all of Japan's romantic-comedies.

Music:
It is a pleasure to hear the track called "I Love..." by Official HIGE DANdism which is spectacular and I can listen to it continuously. The downside is that, this tack is the only one I clearly remember, so that speaks a lot about the variety of the music used and the impact it had on the audience.

Rewatch Value
Definitely rewatchable!! It is cute, it is short, it hits all the right buttons, and every one watching it will love it. What I like about this drama is that, even-though it is a romantic comedy, with some over the top embarrassing moments, the rest of the story far outweighs them and we can clearly see character growth in the leads. It is a simple and fluffy tv series, that will let you relax after watching some heavier stuff.

I'm just thinking the writer cant really decide whether she wants this drama to be romance with the medical elemets or other wise.

The plots were messy. It seems the writer just dump every cliche elements into the plot and they ends up pointless. The stalker who came out of nowhere, the meeting of Tendo with Sakura's family, the accident and Sakura's comatose period, the Kamijo's pursuing and suing, the Shinji-Ryouko romance, the Sakai-Sakura friendship, the third-wheelers (Kisugi and Miori).

This is a predictably cute dramas with lack of depth each characters' development except for the female lead. It still watchable thanks to the actors. Or I might say it's a waste that Satoh Takeru is in the drama.

Opposites Attract similar to ISWAK or A Love So Beautiful

Likes: The sinuous Tendo and his suppressed emotions and desires. The adorable Sakura who wears her heart on her sleeve. The dynamic between the two.

Dislikes: Like with most dramas, the fainting/near death incidents are worthy of multiple eye rolls, although I get why they are in so many dramas...I just wish they can do it a bit more realistically. I mean, how many people really faint from a cold?

I'm a sucker for these opposites attract type of dramas where the ML is an intelligent nonchalant type who warms up when a bubbly bright FL enters into his life. What I really liked about this drama was that Sato Takeru and Kamishiraishi Mone really sold me on their characters, especially KM. KM really seemed like this adorable clueless girl who keeps getting herself into trouble. I mean, we've seen this kind of female character so many times, but some actresses tend to be a little over the top...a bit too dumb to be real, but I didn't feel that way so much with KM.

And Sato....he has this sultry vibe that's a bit exciting. He has this way of delivering lines that would usually be too cheesy into words that make your heart skip a beat. And his barely there restraint when it came to Sakura would just suck me in like a vortex.

If you liked ISWAK or ALSB, I would recommend checking this drama out.

It's been a while since I watched another Japanese drama and I finally began to watch them again. The reason I started watching this was that I saw a video from TIKTOK kissing her and that kiss was really attractive and hot... I'm a rom-com drama type and I cannot believe that this drama made my 2 days funny and memorable. If you are the type of person who loves cringy, romantic, clingy and funny drama, then this is the drama I would recommend. Each episode made my day, made me fall in love and jealous. Encountering and dedication in this drama really inspire me to do the same thing. The way she met him and used him to become a nurse was crazy but that changed her life. For me, I like how guys tend to be strong, and impulsive on the outside but gentle and ykow nice n stuff.... His acting 'Sato Takeru', was really portraited properly. There may be an age-gap but the way they interact and act like it's not a problem was good. I just wish they showed us how he fell for her and not ... (don't really want to spoil it..so) But, overall... I am thankful that I encountered this drama from a video and decided to watch it because that was a good decision. Hopefully, I can find more dramas that will kill time in this quarantine days.

Cute Story

This was such a cute Drama to watch. It short so it makes it easy to knock out in just a day or two of binge watching. Overall the story line was very cute and it gave me that sweet sweet serotonin we are all searching for. As someone who works in electrophysiology I really appreciated the accuracy of the patient illnesses and treatments. Some are a little far fetched but it was enough that I did not have to suspend by disbelief.
As for the acting the actors seemed very into their parts. Although I wish the male lead's role had more sustenance to it so that he didn't seem overly stoic. Up until the last few episodes I might even go as far as to compare the role to that of Kristen Stewart's in Twilight. Often times the second hand embarrassment from how cringey the female lead was too much to bear without pausing or looking away.
I liked the music, although I'm pretty sure it was just two songs ( or maybe even one and its just the instrumental version ad the version with words and i never noticed until the last episode). Would have been nice to have more variety in the soundtrack.

Would i rewatch this?
Simple answer, yes. Thus far, there has only been one asian drama that i knew right after watching it the first time that I would rewatch it. This is not that drama. However, i would not be against rewatching it. It is not the type of show I am adamant about rewatching, but if i needed something to cheer me up or to fill the void I would have no problem putting this on. I guess in a few words it is just a comforting show.
