Super Duper Short

Finally, as series about brothers, but PLOT TWIST, they're not in love?? I was full heartily going into this, thinking these brothers were going to fall for each other. Why? Because incest is so prevalent in the BL community, so what was stopping my thoughts from going to *that* place? anyways, I really enjoyed this watch, except, it is stupidly short, and ridiculously rushed.

Let's Dive In.

For one, Because of You should've just been a movie, I finished the entire series in one sitting, and in less than two hours. Because of this, there was not enough time for each brother to get a decent amount of screen time. Instead, it was mostly focused on the main brother, while the others had just enough time to only flesh out the main points of their story, and no details. My favorite couple would definitely go to Yuan Jun Cheng and Lin Xun, but the only reason being that we saw them the most. Even with them being my favorite, they still were really rushed. hey were dropping L-bombs and moving in so quickly. I needed that moment when it felt they had dated for a while, we needed to have seen that time pass by, but we never do. As for the other brothers, I just needed more. Nothing felt realistic, and nothing felt connected. I think out of all the brothers, I would've like to see Dao more. I felt like I had been asleep those entire two hours when he and Yang Xiang got together. It literally came out of nowhere. Besides the rush plot, I still enjoyed the concept of the series. It was something that we hadn't seen before, and it was refreshing, to say the least.

Overall, this is a quick and fun watch. I could've easily been a 10 had they been able to make it longer than 10 minutes each episode. Would love to see these pairings in other BLs, and would enjoy seeing them reprise these roles if a sequel is to happen (hopefully longer than this one).

STORY
* The makers present an interesting premise and have a pretty good idea on what main events should happen, but as they strive to tell 3 love stories in 10 episodes, each running for ~15 minutes, it's no surprise that they left some arcs underdeveloped. With such limited episode time, I think it would be better to stick with the main story, and did not show any development on the "side couples" -- maybe some hints which can be explored in a different series. There are also some parts of the story that did not make sense to me or left me wondering how that was possible, but all in all it wasn't bad enough to deter me from finishing the series -- they really have an interesting start and that got me hooked throughout the entire thing.

ACTING/CAST
* The main couple actors were good, although there were some scenes where I find their portrayal weird. The side couples, I guess, did their best with the material that they have.

MUSIC
* Not bad, but not memorable as well

REWATCH VALUE
* It's still a good piece of BL drama, and if you're stuck waiting for the next episode of other BL series that you're watching, you can rewatch this one.

Cute with a touch funny

This was a really nice short drama, and it did have it moments.

I Loved everything about it, the brothers the fights and make up, how each of them grew into there character the discovering of right and wrong, the easy flow of this drama, no plot, no backstabbing, no extra third wheel getting the way etc ...

I thought the overall storyline was quite interesting and unique. I’ve never watched a drama with a plot like this, though it definitely gave me HIStory vibes. When I first read the description I worried it was going to be the half-brothers in love, so I was relieved when I realized the series was about them and their separate partners. I do admit i favored one of the couples over the other two (although, i think we all do haha). Jun Cheng and Lin Xun's chemistry is just out of this world, and i hope they're able to do a full-length series together in the future.

Overall: This drama, and it won’t be winning any awards for best BL series, but I think if you give it a go and watch it with a clear mind, you may find yourself enjoying it just as much as I did.

if it was a thai BL I could have understood the suffocating errors and the lack of depth in the replicas as well as the history but to have the nerve to spoil a Taiwanese BL for me it was a shock.

we finished this mini series I found myself with the same feeling of a vagabond in the desert, At the start the story started terribly well, we have 2 couples formed, the 3rd couple in the meeting phase and a concentration on a story well put together who will have potential, suddenly everything changes and little by little falls into the void.

1 - The mixture of Korean and Mandarin was cute but at one point we were fed up, because the protagonist does not juggle between the two languages but remains frozen in his language, we understood wanting to exploit the love of viewers for Korean wave but not at this level, because it becomes harmful and poorly done, taking away all credibility from the brothers' ties.

2 - the actor Lee Si Gang who is an excellent actor with a lot of potential, only if he is well directed because in certain sequence, he plays very badly like an extra which has just started in the industry (he shouts very loudly and several times, invoking the superiority of his Korean culture, his personality in history is not stable.) ... How is it that overnight after he sequestered his false brother, who saved remembering the thugs, offers to become her lover ... knowing that he is very irritated at the slightest male contact or even when he thought he was having sex with him, his reaction was out of context and unwarranted. .. and then the next day on a whim, he declares his love to her and swears in the deceased mother of her lover .. the latter who accepts this love without explanation or history of love !!! ...

Why two handsome men without homosexual background would become lovers without valid reason.

3 - for me The couple in which I have been the most invested in history was Jundao / Xiang, they have very well summarized their romance, they have spent better friends, to the spells of jealousy and submission has lovers it was cool, hot and logical.

The history of this mini series deserves to be deepened, but unfortunately it was messed up royally like a Thai bl.

This was... Ok....

Well this was.... bingeable and not a lot more as the acting is mediocre, the plot mediocre and the kisses ara also mediocre not being dead fish but not being eat the fish either they just are i guess...

AS this is the story of the three gay brothers who do not really know if they are gay or just had learned not to love... they do not either know if they have a fourth brother or not. these brothers who also all have different mothers seem to get involved with another family with a very hetero sister who is highly annoying and may just be what many people would call a self centered gold digger with a huge appetite for men and a need to learn about consent. There is also a guy who is bi, and does make for some pretty decent bi representation, saying the way old just because I am bi it does not mean i will fall for just anyone... and so on and so on...

To this there is also some hints of disputes between brothers about a potential inheritance, a stubborn dad who likes to own people... ok several people who seem to like to own others and well that is about it.

So was it good?
No
Was it bad?
Not really
Is it an acceptable watch?
Sure it is short and easy to binge

I loved it.

Although it was beyond predictable from start to finish, I still quite enjoyed this mini series. The music was great. I've already downloaded the OST :-D The couples were adorable, however, everyone keeps talking about how the family bloodline has come to and end... As if surrogacy isn't an option ^_^ Let them be.

The sister was hilarious (and a very obvious plot driver). Honestly, couple 3 needs to thank her for pushing them to realise their feelings for each other.

If you're looking for sweet, short and funny drama, you'll find it here. It's nothing too heavy and it doesn't take itself seriously.

Every moment is enjoyable. Don't let the language mixing stop you; I wish more dramas would do this. There are bi- and multilingual people out there, it was fun having to listen to the different languages and read the English subs at the same time :-D:-D:-D:-D:-D

Interesting but lacks depth

April 26, 2021

I know this has three couples and that a lot of people are very excited about them. But I honestly felt lacking in terms of the progress of the story. Of course, I know it is a short drama after all. But it just did not give the satisfaction like other short BLs out there. Sure there is fluff but the romanticization of your kidnapper is just I am over it personally.

Maybe if my older self watched this series, then I would rate it higher but since I watched so many shows. I think I just have a knack for levelling up my standard.

Enough with the negatives and more on the pros. It is sweet and fluffy. I literally finished it in a day. If you the type of person who won't pick on the plot unlike me. It is very easy to watch. Sure there are so misunderstanding at times but it's bearable if don't care too much about the details.

I doubt I'll rewatch it but if I do its prolly because I am looking for some short sweet fluff!!!

Am I still gonna watch season 2? Of course, since this story has potential along with the actors. I have a feeling that it will be better. (I really hope so!!)

A true example of Chekhov's gun

The series is about a disfunctional family made up of a father who cares little about his 3 sons born to different mothers. The eldest one is born to a Korean mother and wants back what belongs to his mother. The second son wants nothing to do with the family or the inheritence and the youngest son cares only about his share of the inheritence clearly influenced by his mother. Here we are introduced to another guy who might be the alleged 4th son of the tycoon born to his ex-girlfriend who he truly loved. The story now takes a different turn and is about the budding relationship of each of the brothers with their friends except the eldest one who falls for the new guy i.e. the alleged 4th son.

Starting with the positives, the series hits the ground runing wherein it wastes no time in introducing all the characters and their relationships with each other. The story is well paced for a mini-series with enough time spent on each of the main characters. Although the relationships in certain cases develop rather quickly due to lack of time, it does not feel superficial. The actors did a great job at playing their roles including the annoying nagging sister of one of friends.

Lets begin with the negatives. The series starts with showcasing a conflict between the eldest son and his uncle around business inheritence . He even tries to kidnap the eldest son but fails. This happens in the first 5 min of the first episode and then this plot is completely abandoned. The uncle is nowhere to be seen and there is no conversation around the failed kidnapping. In fact the eldest son wants nothing to do with inheriting his father's business instead he wants ownership back of his mother's hot springs business in S. Korea. But in the following episodes the eldest son forgets about this mission. Its like he suffers from short term amnesia. Doesn't remember the kidnapping and now doesn't care about the hot spring business. His only goal now is to be with his love interest.

The father plays a strong character and we feel that he will play a major role in their lives now that all the brothers are together at the same place and each of them having boyfriends but we dont get to see him at all post a few initial episodes.

During one of the moments between the second brother and his love interest, he says his family owns the guy. That exposition comes out of nowhere and we dont get any hint of what that means. I understand this is a mini-series and they cant possibly show everything but I feel they could have removed that specific dialogue and excused themselves from that explanation.

Regarding the 3rd brother, a very limited time is spent in providing any information about him or his love interest. All we know is that he dislikes his eldest brother because he disconnected a ransom call from his kidnappers and might be a hinderance to getting his share of the father's wealth.

In conclusion there were certain plots that required more explanation but waere abondoned without any explanation which leaves you wondering what happened with that plot or character. But if you ignore that, this one is a great watch and I would recommend it.

Too short, too many characters, not even deveopment.

Each episode has about 10 minutes of story time. 3 couples (six people) add additional characters and there is no time to get to know anything about the characters or why they like each other in the first place. There is so little story here that I got a 500 character max warning :/ Unless you have 100 minutes of time to waste I would skip this one. the one positive is that some of the actors are cute. I write for fun and it is hard to come up with 500 characters. I might actually have more development than the show.

Cute light story ~

Overall, it is a cute, light story ~
If you're looking for a light watch, this is the one for you ..
But if you're looking for an in-depth, deep story plot, then I would not recommend this ..

It's a light, easy watch !
<15 minutes per episode made it an easy re-watch ~

PS: In my humble opinion, this web-series has more potential to develop
Improvements in the continuity of plots and character development would be nice
(but ofc that would make it no longer a 'mini-series')

Deliciously Wicked and Funny

I liked this series. It is very short consisting of 10 episodes averaging 12 to 13 minutes each. It is a very simple story of a very overbearing, angry, no fun to be around father of a wealthy family with 3 sons from 3 different women. Each not liking one other and certainly not trusting each other. Overall, this series is a story of love and brotherhood. These three siblings are almost to the point of being just like their unhappy bitter Dad, driven only by work. And maybe that is what I liked about this story. Sure, it is simple, and it is told simply. Three brothers begin to diminish the walls around them and begin to see that they are lovable and can be loved. It is a very Happy Go Lucky BL Drama. You will enjoy every bit of it without any tension. The story build up is kinda bad. I mean there is proper character buildup but then again it cute. I mean for 10 episode each with 15 mins screen time, the drama is actually kinda nice.

Hoping for a season 2 with a lot more drama and a lot more character buildup. There is a very big possibility for these characters to shine. The storyline of second brother is a lil confusing but I did like the part with the 1st & 3rd brother.

It very much re-watchable, it just gives you a very happy vibes.
