I would really commend the production and cast of the show since portraying a story within just 4 episodes is really not an easy task especially for the director and the cast who would convey the feelings of their character. Specifically this part of En of Love--Love Mechanics, I personally liked the #VeeMark. In my opinion, VeeMark visuals surpasses the TOSSARA, and there's a lot of emotions being poured by the character so i really commend the talent of War and Yin. The OST are sad, the opening song is sad, the ending song is sad, and Mark is sad :( I'm looking forward for more series that shall come to Mark and Yin. I hope this series becomes a success. I will recommend this.

The series is a continuation or a companion for a story that began in En of Love Tossara. Here we get to know more about Mark and Vee in what began as a twisted revenge/teach-a-lesson tale that soon became a complicated love story.

Im usually a fan of short series and to others, four episodes (er, actually more like three and a half) can be more than enough to tell a full narrative arc. However, this is clearly the show's weakness. There wasnt enough time for real character development and by the end of the series I wasnt really sure if the two leads are actually really inlove. Instead of getting to the point, the show is filled with too many useless fillers. After only 3 episodes they even have the audacity to show us that shi**y recap montage perfect with those rotating blue stars. Wait did i say shI**y? I meant shiny.

This is exactly how i felt when watching the director's "Make it Right" Series. He has a tendency of adding too many scenes and secondary characters that actually do nothing but waste our time.

Its such a shame because for the most part, they got a gem with their two lead cast - War and Yin are almost good and both are very HOT and charming.

Pacing could have been snappier but instead we got a collage of scenes that jump from one to another without letting us digest them. It felt like important details were left out. If only they used their time wiser, we couldve figured things out better. I think the makers forgot that not all viewers are readers of the book.

They intentionally diluted a strong sadistic affair and made it a forgettable tiny puppy love. I have to give them props for twisting and romanticizing an unsolicited sex predatorship and turning it to sunny yet full of rainbows love story. And for adding a girl character just to make her the villain, because yes, this is a BL and all girls are enemies. Yes, im being sarcastic.

Is it a good watch? Yes, if only for the eye candies. Dont put this in your priority though, just watch it when your flight is delayed for two and a half hours and youre stuck in the airport. They missed the opportunity of making this a meaningful watch.

Edit: A full blown series is coming our way soon, and i cant deny Im excited. They may finally be able to give justice to the story.

Alright, so I started En of Love: Love Mechanics quite skeptical because I did not like Tossara (sue me).

But the story is quite interesting and cool, I like how it wasn't focused around a guy struggling with his sexuality or any of that drama but rather they knew what they wanted and they kind off went for it straight. Yes, there were moments when I physically cringed but on an overall basis, I liked the show, because they were able to pack everything into 4 episodes and gave it a good finish.

STORY: So when the series kicked off after Vee and Mark slept together, I thought it was going to be a Together with me remake when Vee said his girlfriend cannot find out, but then I like the fact that they didn't make it the stereotypical struggle with being gay or not but rather a struggle with love itself that so many people have. The struggle between a loveless love but love you have grown used to, and new exciting love with all the ups and downs that come with it. I like the fact that they were a bit appropriate for once, not portraying them as backstabbing cheaters, but allowing Vee to "properly" break it off with ploy before appropriately getting with Mark. The only downside to this may be the fact that the big drama was not all that (btw never agree to the last kiss with your ex) and the story was cringe and unnecessary sometimes, like Pack, he literally was just a tool to get Vee and Mark back together

Music: They were superb with this, I actually enjoyed the music

Acting: Acting was good too

3 am review broadcasting in 3...2...1.... i'm going to let it off my chest so i can finally sleep peacefully: vee is a diCK

right off the bat, the drama starts with vee being a whole creep and taking advantage of mark. how many more dramas do we have to see with this theme????? why do these BL dramas have this recurring theme where their relationship develops from non consensual shit?? am i mad? yes. am i mad that war and yin are very attractive actors? yes. am i whipped for them? yes. do i like this drama? fuCC NO.

*interlude noises* *vhs sounds thingies* *dog barks*

please do tell me.... what is there in vee that can be seen as a good person??
why is he trying with his whole chest to cry a river and putting the blame on mark when clearly he's the one who's in the wrong??? why act like you're the victim?? mark did nothing wrong.... vee went around in circles, not making himself clear to mark and then kissed his ex gf..... mark was at the scene.... won't you be mad if this happened to you?
after a long time of not seeing each other (i'm not even sure of the goSh darn timeline in this) and this is the first thing you see.... do you think that the other party has the right to be mad at you?

i think what i learned from this drama is that mark is a babie and vee can go suffer in a pit of hot lava and try his best to cry a river there but sadly that river will evaporate idk science but yes

p.s. i want to see war to have more leading roles in the future this boi deserve it

What’s good? The actors are good looking and have great chemistry. The editing and pacing was surprisingly not bad, compared to TOSSARA. With just the four episodes they had, they did quite well presenting the story and building the relationship.

What’s bad? Whole first 5 minutes. You can’t just open a show with sexual assault and borderline rape. Not good. And no, just because the bed scene was not shown, does not mean I didn’t have a problem with it. Vee as a character has literally zero redeeming qualities. Watching him being sad and crying was a delight for my soul.

War did a good job. I quite enjoyed his character, even though he was a mess too. I don’t know... I watched the show because of his pretty face. That’s the tea.

This series gave me such a special feeling that I have long missed in other series

Love Mechanics had the bad luck that it was shot in the middle of the Corona crisis. Therefore, some things remained incomplete. Still, it was one of the best bl-series I've watched. And although the series had so few episodes, it gave me a feeling that much longer series could not do.
War in particular is a very good actor who could express so much feeling with his eyes alone.
Everyone made the best of the current situation. I just hope the two actors get their own full series because they deserve it and I want to see more of Mark and Vee.

STORY: The boring, over-used plot where one of the boys falls in love with the other after a one-night stand. Nothing that really stands out about it, nothing new. Still, I liked it way more than TOSSARA.

CAST/ACTING: I think they did a pretty good job on this one. The actors are handsome, carry their roles well, and I like their chemistry.

MUSIC: I liked it how they used it in the episodes, but I didn't like the OST.

REWATCH VALUE: They were cute, so maybe I'll give them a shot after a couple of years, since there are only 4 episodes anywyay.

I wasn't planning on reviewing this till I see the last part too. But they had a little special at the end of Love Mechanics and I actually enjoyed their connection in, well, sorta, real life too. Can't help but compare it to TOSSARA. Sadly that one was...I don't know...both actors are fine i guess, just don't put them together?!? (I'm not trying to be mean. It's my objective opinion. I hope many people have a different opinion and love it.) Love Mechanics was a bit more complex and they did a pretty good job at showing the emotions that came with the story. I was less straightforward than the first part. They actually had to deal with misunderstandings and overcome fears as a result. Vee didn't give up and Mark let go of his heart. It was nice.
Am super excited about the next part. The special was promising. They seem to match. :)

The Only En of Love People Liked

The En of Love trilogy was honestly a complete mess. None of the stories were 100 percent likable, and they all had their faults. This one in particular was my least favorite out of the bunch, and yes, I know how much of a catastrophe Tossara is.

Let's Dive In.

Although I did somewhat enjoy Vee and Mark’s story, I couldn’t help but be once again disappointed. I HATE drunk sex, the consent of drunk sex is so ambiguous, and in real life, it's dangerous, especially with a complete stranger. I like hookups when each person is sober and aware of the actions their making. So, right off the bat, that’s what we’re hit with. Not only that, but Vee has a girlfriend for the majority of the time they were hooking up. No matter the circumstances or situation, it is never okay to cheat!! I agreed with Mark’s attitude on not wanting to talk to Vee and wanting to just forget him altogether. But with three words, and some puppy dog eyes, Mark just forgave him? The hell? Vee kissed his ex right in front of Mark (even if she was highly manipulative) and just three overly-expressive words later and we’re all good? Nah. I really wanted to see Vee fight for Mark, to really go and make up for what he did, but whatever. The thing I liked most was War's acting. He does such an amazing job at expressing his feeling through his eyes. I loved seeing him on the screen, and I hope to see him in future projects.

I wish this was a full series rather than just a 4-episode mini one. It felt super rushed, and could’ve been better if there was more time in between to show some of the things that weren't shown due to their 4 episode limit. I wouldn't necessarily recommend this show, just because there are better series out there, but it did keep me entertained, and I appreciate that.

The story:
I´ve read some parts of the novel and it seems like a lot was cut out. The story in itself is quite good except for one specific part. I won´t say which part but for those who have read the novel, I think you know which part i mean. This part of the novel made me hate Vee. However thankfully, this scene wasnt incorporated in the series. Other than that i feel the most redeeming part about the story is how it follows Vee trying to forgive himself for what he did, and gaining forgiviness from Mark. As well as Marks internal struggles with accepting Vee.

Acting and chemistry:
First, the two main actors had amazing chemistry. Although stuff was rushed because they had to fit everything in 4 episodes, I felt like the acting and the chemistry between Vee and Mark really saved the series. I didn´t get the sense of awkwardness as I felt when watching some parts of Tossara.

It seems like both War and Yin genuinely worked hard to understand their character and their emotions, and the acting was therefore very natural. The actors conveyed their emotions not just by talking but also by using their eyes. In some scenes you could tell what Mark was conveying just by looking at his eyes.

Lastly the visuals, both actors look truly good together. They are so cute both off-screen and on-screen.

Directing and production:
I hope if they do decide to go for a full series that they improve the directing and production of the show. Some parts were rushed and you were left confused and wondering about what really happened. Also some parts were lacking in execution and flow. I understand that they had to fit everything in 4 episodes though. Also, I was unsure about a specific part from the novel, if that happened in the series but wasn’t shown, or if what happened in the first scene of the series was consensual? If they go for a full series, they should definitely give a clearer answer and I hope that they somehow remove that part in the new series completely.

Music: I love the OST of this series.

Overall:
Love the show, and I hope I will see both actors in future projects together.

This is one of the few series that made me cry. The acting is really on point. The main actors are damn cute. The story is hateful but their growing love is wonderful. I never thought Ill be invested a lot of feelings in a mini 4 episode series.

Ps. I dont like tossara and dropped it at ep 1 hehe sorry

"Love is a temporary madness, it erupts like volcanoes and then subsides. And when it subsides, you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion, it is not the desire to mate every second minute of the day, it is not lying awake at night imagining that he is kissing every cranny of your body. No, don’t blush, I am telling you some truths. That is just being “in love”, which any fool can do. Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident."

Love Mechanics:

People who have read the novel knows how the story of Mark and Vee started. For those who haven’t, they might be turned off by romanticizing assault in this series. However, if you can go beyond that aspect, you’ll appreciate this series in it’s entirety.

Story: This TV adaptation highlights the best parts of the novel and soften the tone thus making that delicate aspect of the novel appears to be consensual rather than demeaning.

Acting/Cast: Both leads has good visuals and great chemistry to boot. This series is better acted than it’s predecessor TOSSARA. You will root for their characters to end up together. War (Mark) nuances and facial expression were good. This time I wasn’t cringing watching the series.

Music: Some may not like the musical scoring however, as for me, it captures that feeling and mood.

I usually watch the previous episode prior to watching the new episode to have that feeling of continuity. I am glad that they made Vee’s character different than the novel. I just hope that they have extended this to about 6-8 episodes instead of just 4 by including Vee’s family and Mark’s mom rather than making the series revolves around their friends and exes.
