Great story, disappointed with the ending

I loved the character growth both FL and ML went through. Disappointing ending though as it felt like a cop out after all the development they went through. They didn’t talk it out or have any clarity rather a descion to move on and re-visit down the line. Leaves it open for a season 2 (the sister thing being mentioned as well) but disappoints overall. Some great emotional sequences and character development merits the stars. Acting was okay, FL was insipid at times but overall casting was well suited. Hollow points with half baked motivations for side arcs/stories under developed as well. I’d rewatch some of the earlier episodes and imagine myself a different ending.

This is a condensed remake Japanese version of fated to love. Same events, same plot. The was condensed to 10 episodes although it seems to be missing an ending or not. If you’re looking for something to watch you may enjoy it but if you’re looking for something heartfelt it’s a bit lacking,

Comparatively speaking this one is not that great. The acting is a bit more exaggerated. I’ve watched three versions and this one is okay but it was left with a bit of a sad ending. Chemistry is not so great. You won’t get as many laughs as you would with the other versions.

Season 2 or no?

This drama is just like all of the other remakes, im not complaining too much because I never get bored of watching remakes, I was just putting it out there. Overall, I think this drama was very funny, sweet, emotional, but I just wish it was longer and not rushed. Also what was that ending? It ended so fast that I barely connected with the characters enough to be satisfied. We got to see his secretary develop a crush on the main girl's sister, but there no development between them afterwards- it was all a cliffhanger! Hoping for a season 2.

The ideal love plot With an unexpected ending. The typical romantic light sparks When The supercool male protagonist and The introverted Female character meets. The first half would give u butterflies wherein another half , the pain exists. An usual clash, misunderstanding, love spark ,ideal lifestyle all meets up the viewers expectation except the last part .
Compared to other versions( such as in korean), this one doesnt fulfill (my) expectations. Though it started like a typical drama with wealthy strong male protagonist and poor introvert female protagonist , the story doesnt end as we expected as an happy ending BUT A KINDA TRAGIC ,i feel. They ended abruptly .
Moreover those short episodes make us slghtly disappointed. Can watch this series for the actor/actress well performance .

I have always loved the plot of You Are My Destiny and could never really get sick of them despite watching them many times as each version has its own twist and way of adapting the story. In this case, the Japanese version is much more direct to the point with the story, the main focus of the story is with the couple and not much spotlight is given to the side characters, which I appreciate. The pacing compared to the other versions was also fast that it managed to cover almost everything except the ending which completely felt rushed. I have a feeling that this would have a season 2.. because it cannot just end the way it did!

Plot-wise, the story was great! The formula of the story might be cliche now but it still works! We love too see our cold male lead growing to be concerned with FL, and eventually realize his feelings towards her. I also liked the way it was well adapted to the Japanese culture, and not really copy the former adaptations. My only concern with the plot is that the scenes were going too fast that there was no room for other characters to fully develop and even assert themselves in the story like the second leads Hayato and Anna, where we did not get a chance to see their intentions and it was hard to relate to them. I sincerely hope there will be a S2 for this one or else its just too bad. I also wish that the romantic scenes for both the leads although there are some a bit placed here and there, were more, but with only ten episodes and 30 minutes each, I guess those would have to do.

Acting-wise, both lead actors did great with their roles. Kizu Takumi looked cool despite the ridiculous comedy parts in this show, he pulled it off really well. The chemistry was definitely there, we get to see it especially in the first few episodes, however towards the end (episodes 8-10) the whole show was just completely rushed so there was no chance for the actors to really give us much more.

The OST for this drama, although repeatedly played at the start and the end of each episode is really sweet, catchy, heart racing, and beautiful that it worked its magic for the show. I enjoyed the show more because of it!!

I was really planning on giving this one an 8.5 when I started watching, but now that I finished till the end it went down to 7.5 because of the disappointing ending. I have never seen a show end the way it did, without resolving the main conflict, proper farewell and confession that was as if the whole story build up went down the drain. I sincerely hope this would get a season 2 and redeem itself!!

Weakest remake of them all

First I will look at this drama subjectively by itself even though I am familiar with the story. If you go into this never having seen this story you would just find an average drama. Nothing that stands out but nothing that really make you hate it either. The production is fine, the visuals are nice, the actors did an okay job with the script, and the OST was okay. But honestly none of it was really memorable except that one scene that will break your heart every single time. One of the biggest problems is that the characters were not given time to develop. Aya was such a weak character and you never got a chance to see her grow since this was cut so short. Its length also plays heavily on my ability as a viewer to feel invested or connected to the characters. If you are looking for something short to just pass the time then this could fit the bill though you may end it feeling dissatisfied.

This is the fourth version of this story that I have seen and it is the weakest. The length played a heavy role in that. By the intro and outtro you can tell that they had intended or possibly even shot the full show with the same ending as all the other versions but then decided to stop airing the show so it was condensed and the last episode rewritten. Because of this you end on a sour note with no real feeling of closure since the misunderstanding isn't completely explained. Aya was a weaker character in this version and her interactions with both male leads felt forced and awkward because there was no time to create a believable relationship with either one. For the same reason it was also hard to believe Kei's change in feelings because it was like a switch for the purpose of moving the story forward but as a viewer it did not feel genuine since all the interactions up until the abrupt change of heart did not give you enough of a sense of depth in his relationship with Aya.

I watched this out of curiosity since I had seen the 3 previous versions but I would not have if I was not familiar with the story previously.

Ok I've seen all remakes and the original. This remake needs a second season or more episodes (also longer then 30min per episode if possible) because it shows them getting married in a lavish wedding in previews and ending scenes. But this ending so far just shows her leaving for Okinawa and her husband being ok with it. So there has to be more of this particular remake. If this is all there this for this remake I will be highly disappointed.

Sorry again these are just my thoughts and personal perceptions on the different adaptations.
So in all the remakes they technically weren't divorced. Because yes she signed the divorce agreement 2 days after getting married but he NEVER signed it or dated it. So that also begs the question why get married again as if they were divorced? But I'm actuality they never were? Also that means neither party can get married to anyone else not can they date others or that's cheating.

Sidenote if there beaten path but...
Anytime there's a show and it has multiple remakes from different countries I always watch ALL remakes whether it's anime or live action. (Example... Boys over flowers, Playful kiss..) I watch as much as I can on Netflix, Hulu, Viki, YouTube and other sites where I can see any and all Asian dramas no matter what language they are in.

Does it deserve season 2?

the ending !!!! was NO for me :) i really want both of them together. I seen the spoiler while watching it but STILL ! WANT THEM HAVE A HAPPY ENDING !!

the female lead situation:
im understand her,she been hurt so much and had to carried the baby by herself. Im not being mother yet but im understand its hard to move on when she lost the baby. I wish she didn't get misunderstanding so the baby will deliver safely. Im happy for her to pursue her future and hope she love herself more.

the male lead situation:
at first im indeed pissed off with him when he make divorce agreement with Aya and said the marriage just to cover up not to telling Anna about that one night thing. But every little thing that make Aya happy for a moment, make me love his character. I wish he was realized his feeling early and always thinking of Aya. I wish he appreciate Aya since started. I love the way he make Aya more confident on herself.

the one night stand was so hot damn..the kiss and everything but i wish i can see they kiss again, unfortunately the ending and there no happy moments when they already know each others feeling. I mean there was no real date. I wish Aya know that Kei really love her after everything that happen. Kei not that bad, the way he being honest and confess that he was the father of the child, always have the ring in his finger despite he unwilling to married Aya at first. He also considered not to do abortion to the baby at first. In his deep heart, he also want to be a good dad and good husband but he was to selfish to himself not to fall in love with someone else and make Aya suffer. Its not just Aya is hurt but Kei too. The way he need to been through the situation that Aya will leave him so Aya can be happy and be able to find herself again. The little sweet moment was make me a bit happy. The way kei do back hug to Aya was so sweet and he telling Aya that on coming days, he will fall in love more with Aya. In fact, they not divorce so they still label as husband and wife so why not making Season 2?? Am i right.

End of my review

What is with the ending?!?!

I was actually looking forward to this versions because it had less episodes. I had hoped that they would cut down the storyline to a more manageable level (I felt that the other versions were very drawn out). Unfortunately, they left a LARGE portion of the story out and just abruptly ended the show! The miscommunications (which were abnormally high in every version of this show) were left unresolved. The main couple was very cute together and to not have resolution was very frustrating. The man playing the male leads secretary seemed like a caricature, his overacting was jarring to the rest of the story. In the Japanese shows that I have watched, I've found that they don't dig too deeply into things, which is refreshing at times so the story doesn't go on forever. However, I must say that they did a real disservice to this show by ending it the way they did.

I need more

okay, I watched the korean drama version and then decide to watch this.
The dorama really really really funny and entertaining, especially Ando character. I like him, his existence really important for everyone.
I enjoyed watch this. every actor and actress really have a good job.
but....but.............
WHATS WITH THE ENDING??
DO IT END JUST...LIKE THAT?!!!!!!
WHY??????
Can't they solve their problem first before Aya leave??
I agree that Kei want Aya to be more confident and shine.
I wish at least they solve the misunderstanding between them.

I like the casting, the actors and the actress, i just don’t like the story line, it was just disappointing. Watching drama should be fun and feels the romantic, but I can’t feel it in this drama, well actually it was depend on our taste what kind of drama that we like, but here is my opinion, maybe the directors wasn’t care about the rate or ppl’s opinion, but if he care he should make season 2 with best ending. Honestly I would not have even watched this if it wasn't for Takimoto Miori. Her acting skills were completely wasted on this drama. If you have not seen the Taiwanese original, or one of the other remakes, then go watch them instead. The full story is much better than the cliff notes version. I understand that they had to deal with the Corona virus shutdown while making this which makes it even worse. So for people that may see this in the future, there is a good reason why there is no traffic, limited filming locations, and little to no extras throughout the entire drama. The only reason I can see why this got so much attention in Japan was because people were stuck at home with nothing better to do.
