The Master's Sun Episode 1 swept me off my feet, and then continued to deliver. I'm a fan of Korean ghost stories especially if they feel like this. It feels like Spellbound (AKA Chilling Romance). A perfect blend of horror--not too over the top mind you--and rom-com. But I can tell this is not going to be in-you-face romance. Which is what I like.
Unlike Spellbound, the lead girl does not know how to with ghosts. It isn't revealed yet, but she had an accident at some time and now is only able to see ghosts. It will be interesting to see her overcome her fears and realize that they just want help. Plus, the emotions of helping the ghosts out is beautiful. Whether feeling frustrated from the mistakes the living go right on making. Or how even in death true love endures.
Overall, I'm impressed and in it for the long haul.

What i love about this drama is its horror and romantic comedy theme. I'm not easily scared so to see the so called ghosts amuses me. I love how they put a mystery behind the hero's abduction- it held me to keep on watching and see how the story unfolds. So far as the leads' screen chemistry it is good enough for me to accept them as lovers. The first episode was a good one- lots of ghosts and viewers were caught to want more.

Main leads are actors with acting expierence but they are directed to do owerplay...it gets sometimes annoying or you start laught where you actually must cry...

First of all, if our heroine has been seeing ghosts for a while now, why is she still so frightened? She herself said "they can't do anything to you, but they are here". One would think she got accustomed - at least a little - by now.
The first scene was very well done, quite scary too. It made me think she just recently discovered her ability to see death people, but it turns out the situation has been going on for years, and she's been delivering weird messages for a while.
I get she's frustrated, exhausted and weary, but so scared that she runs back to her room? With garlic and a cross, no less. Someone please explain to her the difference between vampires and ghosts.
The actress is doing a very good job though.
As for So Ji Sub... this is my first time seeing him act and I'm not impressed. Is he going to grace us with some kind of facial expression or do we have to content ourselves with the only one seen here: the frowning?
I also wish I could ruffle his hair. I know the bowl hairdo is all the rage now in Korea, but admittedly it's not for everyone.
I have a few reservations regarding the pace too. While I appreciate to be thrust into the story with some level of speed, I'm not happy to see the plot disclosing in front of my eyes all in the 1st episode. I'm left with not much mystery or expectations.
I imagine the next episodes will deal with the ghosts requests on an episodic basis, while the main plot revolves around a skeptical guy converted by a ghostwhisperer.
I'll keep on watching, but I'm less thrilled than many seem to be.

Hong Sisters (almost) never disappoint me ! The storyline is awesome ! At the point that it's also very sad... I usually don't like ghost stories, but since the ghosts don't seem so scary (maybe...okay at first I decided to watch it without the light, but starting from the first minute, I switched it on !)
Their stories are always a bit sad... I can't hide that I cried while watching the 1st episode !
The cast is A-W-E-S-O-M-E, they all seem to have many things to hide, or things we don't know about. Gong Hyo Jin is just amazing ! (and So Ji Sub is just so handsome ! His character makes me think of Hyun Bin's character in Secret Garden^^)
A great start from this very promising dramas !
Ghosts seem very popular nowadays in dramaland but well, I'm not tired of it yet so it's okay ! =D

Just a fourth into this episode and I already screamed thrice (Hah! Scaredy-cat!). Gong Hyo Jin's Tae Gong Sil will make you scream with her while she runs away from the ghosts and laugh at her while she interacts with Kingdom Sajangnim Joo Joong Won. Meow! ^_^
