I loved this show. I would have hated it if the epilogue episode (that's not what it's called, but it's the thing that comes after the 20th episode) were not available along with the series on Drama Fever. I will probably be watching this again (maybe abridged) at some point. Do Min Joon's eyes are everything!

The acting in this was great! I thought all the characters were well-cast (though the mom does a great job of driving me nuts...but she plays the character well). It takes a while to really have the storyline in this hook you, but it wasn't too long before I was dying to know what happened next. I couldn't watch the episodes fast enough.

Kim Soo Hyun is out of this world

First of all, this is very well casted because Kim Soo Hyun is out of this world. Not only is he gorgeous, his acting is amazing. There are so many nuances just in his eyes alone. Absolutely mind-blowing.

If you have read my love rant about "Are You Human, Too", it will come as no surprise to you, that I love "You Who Came From The Stars" as well. Honestly, is there anything better than chivalrous asexual aliens / robots / mythical creatures?
Since finishing this drama I've actually been thinking about this: In my experience...
- Men like the idea of female aliens or robots because they think they are exotic and will let you screw them
- Women like the idea of male aliens or robots because they think they are chivalrous and protective
Take from that what you want.

Anyway, back to the drama.

Cast & Characters
It took me a while to warm up to Cheon Song Yi. She will never be my favorite drama character because her clinginess and lack of pride were honestly a bit much. But I warmed up to her well enough to root for her and enjoy the drama. The main reason I'm not sure I'll rewatch the drama is her, though.

One could say Do Min Joon is a bit too stoic, but Kim Soo Hyun's portrayal of him is so nuanced (and adorable) that you can't help but fall for him in the very first episode.

I've loved Yoo In Na since "Secret Garden" but I definitely prefer seeing her in a nice girl role.

The moms' feud was rather annoying, to be honest. However, one of the things "You Who Came from The Stars" executed best, is the villain. Sure, it was very black and white and there were no good sides to him. But I honestly haven't hated a villain that much in a long time.

STEP AWAY FROM THE PUPPY!!

Plot
While predictable, the plot was still very enthralling and had me binge the drama within two days. I laughed out loud a few times and cried once or twice. There was definitely some squealing, too. What more do I need from a Kdrama?

Music
The OST was nice but did not blow me away.

My rating is mostly this high because of Kim Soo Hyun and the concept of this particular alien, let's be honest. But it is also a perfectly good a bingeable drama.

I have to say that I didn't want to watch this drama at the beginning. Well, I had read the starting plot and I thought that there was a lot of "supernatural" things and it didn't convinced me... After a year from when it was aired I decided to start it.
I've NEVER NEVER NEVER regret it!
This drama is funny, romantic, with a little bit of supernatural, ok, but not too much...
Jeon Ji Hyeon is absolutely adorable. Her character is super funny, and you can't not to love her.
And... KIM SOO HYUN!!! Do I have to say more???
Also the supporting characters are good, and the story, as I said before, is funny, but not crazy or demential.
I think I've watched it in more or less 5 days! And when I finished it I felt like an hole in my heart!
I strongly recommend this drama if you are in a romantic but funny mood! ^^

Bingable classic, meh storyline

To be honest this drama didn’t draw me in from the beginning, maybe because I had high expectations knowing it was a big hit 10 years ago. But like any kdrama I was binging the show after 3-4 eps.

ML + FL are just beautiful and top actors, so I don’t think it would’ve have been as good if anyone else were casted. FL’s character was annoying but it was interesting to see her fall for an ISTJ character.

Alien storyline was interesting but lacked in detail with why DMJ became weak and could die, why he was healthy after returning home, how exactly he came back at the end. He had told FL that most people have 7-12 children on average, but told her mother that there are no families back on his planet… how does that work?

FL lead was left emotionally tormented and on edge over a guy, which is not exactly the best message to send. Same goes for the 2nd ML who never gets over CSY.

Unsatisfying ending but overall a good show to binge if you enjoy rom coms.

Just 9 years later…..

The story revolves around an alien who has been stranded on Earth for the past 400 years and finally has a chance of going home in 3 months, when he meets the once ‘nations sweetheart’, who disturbs his otherwise peaceful life, leading to a very very eventful love story.

With this type of story it is so easy to become repetitive……and this drama unfortunately did just that. There was a lot of repetitive back and forth in almost all plot lines. I suspect this was done to stretch out the drama, because without it, 17 episodes would be enough.

The acting was honestly no issue at all, everybody knew what they were doing and the crying scenes of the male lead specifically spoke to my soul.

This drama was perfectly casted as a whole, and the female lead in particular perfectly embodies a woman that grew up in the acting industry, showered with endless praise as well as jealousy and greed. Her character is easy to dislike at the start of the drama but she just has this charm that grows on you.

Music isn’t that significant to the plot but it was good. The timing of the music as well as the songs themselves where good and worked well with the drama.

I don’t necessarily see myself rewatching this show, although I really enjoyed it.

Warning (small spoilers!!):

- the secrecy trope is used extensively throughout this drama and, although the reasoning behind this made sense, it still was kind of frustrating.
- There is a quite important side plot revolving around a murder.
- Slow burn, and the ml plays veeerrrry hat to get.
- so much crying/ overall dramatics (esp fl)

From the date it was made and the poster, you can tell the kind of drama this is; one of the classics that helped popularise the many tropes and cliches present in current kdramas.

***

If you are SUPER romantic and have a thing for supernatural drama, you will absolutely love this one. And even if you are not, it would be nice to watch, basically, for the main cast. But if you are seriously anti-romance, this will get to your nerves a little too much to handle on a binge-watch mode.
All the male leads have done a great job. The female leads were also good. Maybe if Jun Ji Hyun didn't go over the top in some of the scenes, there would have been no flaw. Some of the moments which were supposed to explain a lot about Kim Soo Hyun coming to earth from the stars, staying for as long as he did, and what would happen if/when he goes back, did not deliver any meaningful explanation. Was that intentional to keep the mystery, I guess not, it left so much to be missed. But there were many points that would make up for what was missing, like the cinematography, the music, scenes and sets designs, all were very good indeed. And again, high marks for the cast.

Seriously, even tho this drama was popular, but I still felt that it deserved more. Everything was just almost perfect. I loved everything in here. The plot is OG to me, at least in Kdrama world. The cast are all awesome, just hilarious by the fact that Anh Jaehyun is older than KSH and acted as a high school student. But tbh, he really looked like he is the 90s kid tho and I didnt doubt him a tiny bit cuz that was my first drma with him. ????

Indeed, Jun JiHyun is so pretty and as talent as her reputation. She isn't the top actress for just her beauty. This drama wouldn't the same as it was without her in it. This was my first drama with her, and thank to this drama, I became her fan.

Cheon Song I is the best actress in the country. When she moves, her new neighbor, Do Min Jun, complains that she sings too loud at night, which she can't understand well, since the walls are said to be thick in her building. Little does she now that the guy next door is an alien, that lived on earth for 400 years already and is just waiting to go home in three months, when the asteroid, that brought him to earth, passes by again. But as destiny wants it, they get involved with each other through various events and the wonderful love story may begin...

The story is rather basic, but it has everything it needs to make my heart skip beats like crazy. Do Min Jun is the mysterious, silent kind of character that slowly starts to loose it when his love gets in danger. His feelings grow slowly, her feelings grow slowly and even though I can't pinpoint where they fell for each other, I didn't feel surprised by their deep love for each other.

Aside from the love line, there is a surprisingly high number of deaths in there, since there a side character, that spices things up by intriguing here and there to stay on top of the company.

Side characters like Hwi Gyeong and Yu Se Mi are actually also lovely. I enjoyed their story and that they weren't as dramatic when they couldn't get the guy they wanted to have. I especially liked that, for once, there wasn't somebody chasing after the male protagonist, being nasty to the female lead and everything.

One thing many might be curious about is the ending. Since it's an alien drama, I also was expecting either a very dull explanation or no explanation at all. If you are worried about it, here is my opinion: I liked the ending. It wasn't the usual dull answer, it wasn't too easy and I really liked the outcome. Maybe they didn't think it through perfectly, but if I compare it to other supernatural themed dramas like "My girlfriend is a Gumiho" or "Big", where they messed up the endings, if you ask me, I think they did really well! I was content.

5* for this lovely drama, since it's a romance drama just the way I like it. A bit of action, a bit of humor and lots of love mixed with an okay-amount of tears. Recommended romance drama for every romance lover!

Well that drama was a ride. It started off slow but kicked off after a few episodes, and was binge-worthy after that. The best thing about this drama is the characters. Casting was spot on. Kim Soo Hyun actually looked like an alien? And Jun Ji Hyun was the perfect casting for her role. And Shin Sung Rok’s face literally looks like it was sculpted to be a villains omg.

I also felt so bad for the second lead!! He was actually a really nice guy and had loved her for 15 years….and probably will all his life. And he always did right by her. And he never complained when she kept rejecting him, I mean. But not to the point where I got second lead syndrome. That spot is forever reserved for Tae Gwang (Who Are You: School 2015). But man, what a guy.

The main couple was cute, yes. I liked that he had the ability to protect her several times, and could stop time + teleport + eavesdrop. It was quite unique in that way. At some points I got Twilight vibes too (decades older than her, has supernatural powers, and rescues her in ‘impossible’ scenarios and denies it). I did like near the end, it felt like their relationship had matured in a sense and they felt like a married couple.

There were lots of good moments in this drama, and lots of comedic moments which I loved. And the bromance between her brother and Do Min Joon was just so..iconic? I loved it so much, all the E.T moments.

The ending was good but why did it feel like it just got chopped off halfway through?? I was sitting there like ‘that was fast! was that it?’ But I can’t complain too much because everything got closure, sort of. It would have been nice to know if he started to age or their future together. And if they have kids…would they have alien-ish powers? So many questions.

But yeah, overall - fairly good. I enjoyed it. Solid 8.

This show is literally amazing! I’ve watched it maybe 3 times and more! It’s just so good! The connection between the lead characters are totally there! The story itself is pretty unique and the acting overall is very believable and their a re very teary scenes. Although I got a bit confused at times it was overall good! The whole story line of the man being an alien falling in love with a famous rich spoiled girl who gets framed for murder and all of that is very unique! I love the relationship and the comedy that grows in the show! I laughed and cried and cringed during the show.

First of all, this is the love story between a handsome alien and a beautiful human girl which is an actress. Secondly, the storyline is interesting because before this I didn't see any romance drama which is related to an alien and a human, so it's interesting to me. Thirdly, their acting is too excellent. You can't find any wrong in their acting. It looks like they are really in relationships. Fourthly, I think Kim Soo Hyun is the most suitable actor to act Do Min Joon because of his cool face (without smiling, if he smile, he will become a sunshine boy????) nobody can replace him. Finally, this drama makes me laugh a lot of time because of them when both of them are interaction (The two main character).
