The story is rather basic, but it has everything it needs to make my heart skip beats like crazy. Do Min Jun is the mysterious, silent kind of character that slowly starts to loose it when his love gets in danger. His feelings grow slowly, her feelings grow slowly and even though I can't pinpoint where they fell for each other, I didn't feel surprised by their deep love for each other.
Aside from the love line, there is a surprisingly high number of deaths in there, since there a side character, that spices things up by intriguing here and there to stay on top of the company.
Side characters like Hwi Gyeong and Yu Se Mi are actually also lovely. I enjoyed their story and that they weren't as dramatic when they couldn't get the guy they wanted to have. I especially liked that, for once, there wasn't somebody chasing after the male protagonist, being nasty to the female lead and everything.
One thing many might be curious about is the ending. Since it's an alien drama, I also was expecting either a very dull explanation or no explanation at all. If you are worried about it, here is my opinion: I liked the ending. It wasn't the usual dull answer, it wasn't too easy and I really liked the outcome. Maybe they didn't think it through perfectly, but if I compare it to other supernatural themed dramas like "My girlfriend is a Gumiho" or "Big", where they messed up the endings, if you ask me, I think they did really well! I was content.
5* for this lovely drama, since it's a romance drama just the way I like it. A bit of action, a bit of humor and lots of love mixed with an okay-amount of tears. Recommended romance drama for every romance lover!

I also felt so bad for the second lead!! He was actually a really nice guy and had loved her for 15 years….and probably will all his life. And he always did right by her. And he never complained when she kept rejecting him, I mean. But not to the point where I got second lead syndrome. That spot is forever reserved for Tae Gwang (Who Are You: School 2015). But man, what a guy.
The main couple was cute, yes. I liked that he had the ability to protect her several times, and could stop time + teleport + eavesdrop. It was quite unique in that way. At some points I got Twilight vibes too (decades older than her, has supernatural powers, and rescues her in ‘impossible’ scenarios and denies it). I did like near the end, it felt like their relationship had matured in a sense and they felt like a married couple.
There were lots of good moments in this drama, and lots of comedic moments which I loved. And the bromance between her brother and Do Min Joon was just so..iconic? I loved it so much, all the E.T moments.
The ending was good but why did it feel like it just got chopped off halfway through?? I was sitting there like ‘that was fast! was that it?’ But I can’t complain too much because everything got closure, sort of. It would have been nice to know if he started to age or their future together. And if they have kids…would they have alien-ish powers? So many questions.
But yeah, overall - fairly good. I enjoyed it. Solid 8.

First of all, this is the love story between a handsome alien and a beautiful human girl which is an actress. Secondly, the storyline is interesting because before this I didn't see any romance drama which is related to an alien and a human, so it's interesting to me. Thirdly, their acting is too excellent. You can't find any wrong in their acting. It looks like they are really in relationships. Fourthly, I think Kim Soo Hyun is the most suitable actor to act Do Min Joon because of his cool face (without smiling, if he smile, he will become a sunshine boy????) nobody can replace him. Finally, this drama makes me laugh a lot of time because of them when both of them are interaction (The two main character). Was this review helpful to you?

Aging like fine wine but reduce your expectations a bit
This old gem has been recommended to me over the years and so I started it with high expectations. I advise you to reduce those expectations a teeny bit. Cheon Song Yi is such a breath of fresh air as a leading lady but I eventually got exhausted by the stoic Do Min Joon . It's a personal preference to have the leading man be expressive but praise to Kim Soo Hyun for portraying the role so well. With that said, I found myself more interested in the side story between Lee Jae Kyung and Lee Hee Kyung rather than the love story of the two main characters. Lee Hee Kyung is definitely one of my favorite characters.The acting is great, genuinely funny, and definitely some scenes gave me slight agitations. With sci-fi elements and a sideline mystery, this drama sets itself apart by blending multiple genres into one central story without being overwhelming. The drama is also able to fall back on rom-com k-drama tropes we love adding to its charm. It's definitely a must see but because of it's unique nature your personal taste matters.

I thought that some characters were only superficial and lacked depth. Some overacting too unfortunately which impacted my overall enjoyment of the series. This explains the low re-watchable score. Still there are many funny interactions among them that are worth the watch.
The soundtrack was good.
Overall it was enjoyable as a first watch. My second watch years later was not as memorable.

Felt like I met the perfect 400 years old Alien!
I missed their 7 daughters and 5 dogs!
This drama hooked me from the 1st episode for following reasons:
- Not only a beautiful story but it's not boring to watch;
- The story flow was done great;
- I fell in love with main leads for their beautiful chemistry even though KSY looks bit younger than the JJH;
- KSY's acting was great as an Alien who is mature, brilliant and clam nature where as JJH who is hot tempered and think of high herself but good heart. JJH stole the story portraying her humor and hot temper;
- Also the second main leads connection in the story was well done;
- The songs were amazing but I wish the back ground music change a bit in some episodes;
- Love this story and worth watch it!

**I have made a few edits after re-watching this drama recently** !!Contains VERY minor SPOILERS!! -- !!Contains VERY minor SPOILERS!! !!
For starters, I am a HUGE fan of Kim Soo Hyun. I've seen him in a few dramas and movies and I'm always impressed with his acting and on-screen presence. He really is one of the best actors in his generation.
I've never been a big fan of Jun Ji Hyun though, but she totally won me over in this show. I love dramas that show a lot of character growth so the fact that Chun Song Yi was rather un-likeable in the beginning and then became such a charming character by the end has a lot to do with some great acting, in my opinion. Plus, it just makes for a much more interesting story.
Overall, I loved everything about this show. Even the "You are my deeeeeeestiny~~" song really grew on me, so I'm unashamed to admit that I might actually stop and remiss for a bit whenever I hear it playing in stores (*Edit: I was living in Korea at the time).
My biggest disappointment (and the one thing that is keeping me from adding this drama as one of my all time favorites) was the general trajectory of the plot. I feel like way to much time was wasted during the show on things I really didn't care about while the producers had such an awesome chance to explore so much more. This is a genre that's relatively new to the Korean drama scene (at the time it aired), so I was curious about a lot of things that were never addressed and so many missed opportunities that just passed by. Oh, well. It's a minor complaint really.
One of my favorite things about the show is that it remained lighthearted and funny throughout it's run. Any seasoned drama fan will agree that this is a rare feat. Usually shows become boggled down in melodrama and angst towards the end but even when You Who Came From The Stars was being serious, it still managed to throw in some humor. Plus, it never lost it's ability to pull on my heartstrings either. So many sweet moments! It was just about the most perfect combination of heart and humor that I've ever seen.
I will miss this show a lot. I'm happy it had a successful run, and so happy for Kim Soo Hyun for getting another ratings hit. I just hope this doesn't mean he'll be leaving television and moving to the big screen permanently! Crossing my fingers~
