BarthTanrak both deserve sunshine
Ticket to Heaven is one of those series that stays with you long after you've finished watching it.After watching the initial pilot and later the trailer, I was already expecting an emotional story, but I wasn't prepared for just how deeply it would affect me. This isn't a drama that simply tells a love story of two highschool boys, it is so much more than that. TTH is a story about identity, faith, love, the courage it takes to question everything you have been taught, your purpose/path in life and what it truly means to love yourself, even when that choice comes at an unimaginable cost.
What makes TTH stand out compared to other BLs is the way P'Aof (director) took the risk and broached the rather delicate topic of compatibility of homosexuality and religion with sensitivity and not with contempt.
The series doesn't paint their characters ( i.e. Father Arnon and Magdalena House) as purely right or wrong, it shows that there is no easy answer to a moral question, but rather different nuances. TTH rather shows us different people who got shaped by their beliefs and upbringing, allowing us viewers to understand where everyone is coming from and why some behave the way they do. The characters, specifically Barth and Tanrak, are confronted with new moral obstacles in each episode. Every decision they make, no matter how big or small, carries an emotional weight because it doesn't affect only them but it affects the relationships with the people around them, the same people they've always called home (i.e. Father Arnon or Kongdech).
Barth and Tanrak aren't those perfect characters, no they have their own flaws which makes their struggles and behavior so much more relatable. As an empath, watching Tanrak navigate the conflict between the expectations he put on himself, namely following his religious path in order to meet his parents in Heaven and personal happiness is bittersweet - on one hand it's heartbreaking how he thinks that loving someone will keep him away from God and on the other hand so beautiful witnessing his journey of finding his true self. His fear of rejection, the desire to belong, the guilt that comes from feeling like you're disappointing the people you love, and the longing to be accepted without having to deny who you are all feel so real.
Also seeing how the loud and mischievous Barth become an insecure boy whenever Tanrak was pulling away from him, how much little Barth had to endure under his father's abuse, how the accumulation of various incidents made him turn away from God and also how he was completely alone in the world and saw Tanrak as his lifeline made his character so multidimensional and interesting.
And let's be honest, GeminiFourth's chemistry makes it easy to become invested in their journey, and even the supporting characters add depth to the overall narrative. They both portrayed their characters so magnificently to the point that you were crying, laughing and suffering with them in every single episode. The way Gemini and Fourth used their mimics, gestures, body language and voice to transmit the character's feelings were simply out of this world and both of them deserve all the recognition in the world. GeminiFourth absolutely smashed these characters, they weren't just playing those roles, no they were actually Barth and Tanrak. And one a little side note, seeing how much GeminiFourth evolved as actors since “My School President” is simply INSANE.
Visually, Ticket to Heaven is beautifully done. The cinematography, the different shooting location and the attention to the color schemes enhance the emotional atmosphere of each scene, letting the viewer have a peak into the characters' emotional state. Not only the cinematography was magnificent, but also the OST done by GeminiFourth complements the series perfectly and somehow draws you even more into the world of BarthTanrak. As a person who loves the use of symbolism in series, TTH really delivered and made me so giddy whenever P'Aof involved objects/colors/angles to support the visual aspect of the storytelling.
In conclusion, Ticket to Heaven is a moving, thought-provoking drama that balances emotional storytelling with beautiful production and memorable performances. It's the kind of series that leaves a lasting impression whether you want or not. Whether you're drawn to character-driven stories, meaningful themes, or heartfelt romance, this is a series that's well worth watching.

Best Drama
Waited for 2 years and even though it’s only 6 episodes, the drama was everything to me. Brought me through my emotions but the acting and storyline and camera work were 10/10. I will never forget Barth and Tanrak. And the messages the drama wants to portray and deliver to the audience <3 appreciate all the hard work that went into this 6 episode drama. Was this review helpful to you?

This was beautiful
I didn't plan to write a review for this serie bcz i felt i wouldn't find best words the express my thoughts and feelings, so this might be messyI loved the show, every minute of it, the storytelling, cinematography, symbolism, the songs,, dialogues acting, everything was perfect, this is gemini fourth best acting performance, bcz i felt its tanrak and barth bought to live,
We watched the journey of both, the struggle between, love, life, and religion
Barth who was angry at god bcz of what he went through from his family, he couldn't let that anger go till he met his mom, one of best scene in serie btw, asking her of she loved him as she love god and she said the words he needed the most
Tanrak, who imo never wanted to be a priest even before barth coming into picture, to me he was seeking love, the family he lost, he found that in god, father and his friend, he lived his life on one goal and its to die and go to paradise, he didn't have any other dream or purpose in life, barth was the love he tried to fight, his battle against himself, his guilt and fear, we lived that with him throughout the serie, the scene when father hugged him after years to let go was heartbreaking, bcz it took him years and he never forgave himself but he never regretted his decision.
I want to praise acting once again, and everything about this show

Beautiful Story. It . GMMTV why do you always make me cry?
This was a beautiful story to watch. 6 episodes was not enough. But, not sure if it should have been stretched out just for more episodes either. They have not finished the story with Mom in jail, but we can all guess what’s going to happen with that. They will fins the evidence and rule that she killed her husband to save her son from being beat to death. This will be filed into my Re-Watchable List & Favorite Pairings Lists. The OST music is all of GMM’s series is always just spot on. I always think they should come out will FULL ALBUMS of the entire musical scores for the entire series including the instrumental scorings involved just like Hollywood movies do. GMM is on that level with their music in series. Great job to GMMTV on this one!

a question of faith, in God and Love.
Ticket to Heaven — The Temptation of TanrakTicket to Heaven is, to me, less a BL romance than a story about temptation. It reminded me of Christ’s temptation in the desert—not because it retells Scripture, but because it asks the same timeless question: What are we willing to sacrifice for what we believe?
When I was a teenager, I once asked my cousin, a Catholic priest, how difficult it was to live the priesthood. His answer has stayed with me ever since.
He said being a true Catholic is already difficult because we are called to live according to our faith. Being a priest goes even further. It is not about fulfilling one’s wants or desires, but about sacrifice—giving oneself completely to God and choosing a life of service over personal fulfillment. He told me that many are called, but few are chosen.
That conversation became the lens through which I watched this series.
Although the story is set in a school for future seminarians rather than an actual seminary, it explores the same internal conflict: the struggle between faith and desire. Tanrak’s journey is not simply about falling in love with another boy. It is about confronting his own convictions, questioning the life he believed he was destined to live, and discovering whether his calling is genuine or merely inherited.
The writing cleverly uses biblical imagery throughout the series. Barth becomes the tempter—not evil, but the person who continually presents Tanrak with choices. The apple, the roti wrap, climbing over fences, breaking rules—each symbolizes another step away from certainty. Every episode slowly erodes Tanrak’s innocence until desire becomes impossible to ignore.
What impressed me most is that the series never portrays temptation as purely physical. Tanrak is an orphan who has longed for affection all his life. Barth gives him the attention, warmth, and acceptance he has always lacked. That emotional hunger makes the temptation far more believable than simple attraction. It raises an important question: are we witnessing genuine love, or is Tanrak confusing love with the need to be loved?
Episode four remains my favorite. Joe’s conversation about the priesthood beautifully captures its essence—not loving one person, but sacrificing oneself in order to love many. That echoes exactly what my cousin once explained to me, and it gives the series its emotional and spiritual center.
Fourth delivers another remarkable performance. He completely disappears into Tanrak, portraying innocence, guilt, longing, fear, and internal conflict with remarkable subtlety. Every emotional breakdown feels earned, making Tanrak’s journey the true heart of the series.
Gemini, however, left me wanting more. Barth carries deep resentment toward God, yet that anger rarely feels fully realized. Gemini naturally projects warmth and sincerity, qualities that work wonderfully in many roles, but here Barth needed a sharper edge and a more volatile emotional presence. I wanted to see a broken young man whose pain slowly softened because of Tanrak. Instead, Barth often felt gentle from the beginning, making his emotional arc less compelling.
This also touches on one of my recurring criticisms of the Thai BL industry. Established “ships” sometimes dictate casting more than character. While Gemini and Fourth undeniably possess excellent chemistry, chemistry alone does not always create the strongest performances. Sometimes the best actor for a role may not belong to the established pairing. Chinese and Japanese productions often feel freer in this regard, casting actors based primarily on the needs of the story rather than audience expectations.
Ironically, because Gemini and Fourth remain so closely associated with My School President, I occasionally found it difficult to completely separate these characters from those earlier roles. That familiarity slightly weakened the illusion this darker, more mature story was trying to create.
The finale will satisfy most viewers, but I don’t believe the ending is the true point of the series. This is not ultimately a story about choosing between love and the Church. It is about people of faith wrestling with guilt, identity, acceptance, and sacrifice. Whether Tanrak’s decision is viewed as happy or tragic depends entirely on one’s understanding of what happiness truly means.
Ticket to Heaven asks difficult questions without pretending to have easy answers. For that alone, it deserves recognition. It is one of the rare Thai BLs that invites viewers not merely to watch a romance, but to reflect on faith, vocation, temptation, and the cost of following one’s convicti

Great acting by gemforth
Gemforth are the perfect pair for this drama, gentle and soft, which is perfect for this storyline. Now that I know its based on a true story it hits more.
It's a shame there are only six episodes to this drama even if they are 55 minutes long.
It has a great cast and a great storyline.
I hope to see more of Gemini and Forth in dramas like this as they are a gentle pairing, it would be nice to see them in something with a bit more action and out of their comfort zone................

Heaviest series I watched
One series that proves the number of episodes doesn't matter. Imagine telling such a powerful story in just six episodes. So many emotions were shaken, and every episode left a lasting impact.I think everyone had been looking forward to this series ever since the teaser was released two years ago. My first impression back then was, "They're really brave for tackling the Catholic faith." I knew it was going to be controversial.
Let's start with the acting. No question about it. GemFourth absolutely nailed their roles. The cinematography? Equally impressive. Every frame felt intentional and beautifully executed.
What surprised me the most was that I rarely felt the usual "kilig" while watching. Instead, there was always a heaviness sitting in my heart. I felt so much pain for Tanrak because you could feel the weight he was carrying. The guilt, the fear, the confusion. Watching him question his faith was heartbreaking because that's one of the heaviest things that can happen to someone who has devoted his life to it. He wasn't just struggling with love. He was questioning everything he had believed in.
Episode 5 was probably my favorite. I was completely silent the entire time. For me, it was the heaviest episode of the series, and every scene hit exactly where it was supposed to.
And then the ending gave the answer I had been waiting for. No one can question another person's love. You can still love God while loving someone wholeheartedly. Those two things don't have to cancel each other out.
What I appreciate the most about Ticket to Heaven is that it never tried to paint the Catholic faith as the villain. Instead, it presented both sides with respect and compassion. It encourages understanding rather than judgment, and I genuinely hope more people watch it with an open mind.
This is one of those series that will stay with me for a long time. It definitely left a mark.

I absolutely loved the ending they chose. Thanks for healing the trauma YNEH gave me, haha! :)The acting, the cinematography, the OSTs—every single thing about Ticket to Heaven is sooooo incredible. I do have one small issue with the background music, though. I think it would’ve been okay not to use it in some scenes. Still, it doesn’t really affect how amazing this series is. Insane. I’d love to watch it again for the first time.

Breathless, Beautiful, and Masterfully Acted—I Just Needed More Than 6 Episodes!
Ticket to Heaven completely blew me away. Everything about the production was incredible—the cinematography and the color grading were absolutely gorgeous and perfectly matched the heavy, atmospheric tone of the story. The absolute standout of this drama is the phenomenal acting and the undeniable chemistry between Gemini and Fourth. The tension between them was so palpable I could literally feel it through the screen. Together with the amazing soundtrack, their performances made me feel every single emotion right along with them. Tanrak’s intense internal conflict—trying to deny his feelings, trying not to "sin," and then ultimately giving in only to be consumed by immense guilt—was portrayed so beautifully that it was heartbreaking to watch.
I also loved how Barth’s character was structured. Even though he didn't really believe in God, he still tried his best to respect Tanrak’s relationship with his faith. Whenever they shared intimate moments, the way Tanrak tried to hold himself back had me holding my breath with my mouth covered. It was pure, raw emotion.
The only reason this is a 9/10 instead of a perfect 10 is that it was simply too short. With only 6 episodes, it left me begging for more. While I absolutely loved how they ended it by showing how they ultimately chose each other, the finale did feel a little bit rushed and slightly confusing because of the fast pacing.

It is bold, emotionally challenging, and certainly not a drama that leaves you untouched.
Before anything else, it's important to clarify that this is not a conventional BL. Its subject matter is deeply controversial, and the production demanded a remarkable level of emotional depth from its cast. I can only imagine how difficult it must have been for such a young group of talented actors to fully embrace and convey a story built around themes that are both delicate and profoundly divisive. From beginning to end, the drama was permeated by an overwhelming sense of melancholy. Even in the rare moments of tenderness and intimacy between the couples, I never found the emotional comfort or warmth I was hoping for. The sadness remained constant, quietly lingering beneath every scene.
The religious storyline—historically controversial in its very essence—casts a shadow over the entire narrative. It creates a heavy, somber atmosphere that rarely allows either the characters or the audience to breathe.
What resonated with me most was the idea that love should be the highest expression of faith. It is a beautiful and compelling message. Unfortunately, I don't believe the characters themselves conveyed it with enough clarity. While their words often spoke of love and acceptance, their expressions, their fears, and even many of their actions seemed to communicate the exact opposite.
Although Tanrak ultimately made his choice out of love, the guilt, anguish, and suffering imposed by what was treated as an unforgivable "sin" appeared to haunt him for the rest of his life. That emotional burden never truly disappeared, making his journey all the more heartbreaking.
I have never been particularly fond of tragic endings. Reality already offers us more than enough pain. In this case, however, it wasn't simply the ending that left me saddened—it was the emotional state of the characters in those final moments. It made me wonder whether a different conclusion might have been a more fitting way to honor a love that had already endured so much.
Did I like the story? Without question. Very much.
But, as a fellow MDL reviewer whose opinions I greatly appreciate once said, perhaps I kept my analytical mind switched on a little too much while watching. Instead of simply experiencing the story, I found myself questioning it. By the end, I was left with a lingering sadness and far more questions than answers.
Despite that, this is an outstanding production, elevated by remarkable performances from its cast. It is bold, emotionally challenging, and certainly not a drama that leaves you untouched.
I wholeheartedly recommend it.
