I grew up in an era when political discord and misuse of power was the way of life. Some of the atrocities that happened in the drama, I'm sure happened as well in our country during that time. I can totally appreciate the plot of the story but was disappointed at some of the story lines presented because they seem non-sensical. A lot of IE's decisions were such and though I often times try to excuse it by saying it's the idealism of youth, other times I say her decisions and actions are outright stupid for someone who is supposed to be intelligent. I loved the difference in the personalies of the two leads though Often times I don't understand the motivation in their actions, especially the elder one. All in all, the story was interesting enough to have kept me wanting to watch it every week. The fact that it was shortened was quite obvious at how the pacing changed all of a sudden.
The actors were definitely seasoned and I have just added JKH to my list of best actors. I liked him in Heartless City but now I am in awe of his acting ability.
I liked the music because it had a patriotic feel to it which I felt went well with the story plot.
As for re-watch value....quite a difficult one for me to rewatch because it is such a depressing drama.

Endless Love brings the era of change to democracy in Korea to life in an emotionally, thought provoking way. The story is a little monotonous at times, but I think the writer is trying to express how the citizens of Korea faced one hurdle after another on their journey through change. Seo In Ae represents them in every way. Power hungry politicians that care only about themselves is not a new concept, but this drama also gives those people a human quality. I usually hate dramas that revolve around politics, but his has enough personal life story lines that it isn't bad. There are tons of birth secrets and murder attempts. Some of these characters should have been dead a couple of times over. Some people might be disappointed in the ending, but it is appropriate.

Hwang Jung Eum is an actress that I used to hate, but she is getting better. She does well in the emotional scenes of Seo In Ae. There are times though that she falls back into that expressionless face which is so annoying. Ryu Soo Young does a passable job as Kwang Hoon. His character is a jerk. So, I guess him frowning all the time was acting. Then there is Jung Kyung Ho as Kwang Chul...OMG...he can act. I felt more for his character than anyone else in the drama. Jung Woong In is excellent as Park Yeong Tae. That creepy smile can give a person the shivers. I was disappointed that I didn't see more of Kim Joon. The other actors are good too.

The music is OK.

I won't ever rewatch this, but it is one that can be rewatched.

If you like politically motivated, period dramas, then you would probably enjoy this.

Ok, I stuck through watching this drama with the hope of Kwang Chul's love being fulfilled...
This drama had lot's of depressing moments, the only reason I continued to watch was for Kwang Chul - he was the star of the show to me (not In Ae) In Ae frustrated me several times!
I don't have much else to say since I am so disappointed by how this drama turned out in the last 10 minutes....Let's just say this drama is pointless - throughout the entire drama we hold on to this one small smidgen of hope and it basically gets kicked out the door by the end :'( I am disappointed beyond words...I wasted my time watching this drama - I'm so so so so mad at the writer >_< this drama could have been a 8.5 but with the way it ended crushing all my hopes it goes down to a 3.0
I will NEVER re-watch this drama >_<
the Title - Endless Love - turns out to be a pointless love >_<

Characters: Kwang Chul who is in love with In Ae, get's beaten probably more than is humanly realistic - in real life he probably would have died within the first 3 episodes...He has like 9 lives on this drama...
In Ae, a girl with revenge on her mind - my problem with it - she tells the people that she's after them - talk about asking for a death wish! We see her in and out of prison several times and in and out of the hospital several times - but she never learns to sharpen her knife quietly....so frustrating...
Kwang Hoon - a power hungry jerk is how I explain him best. I never liked him.
Se Kyung - the most annoying character on this drama in my opinion - I hated seeing her all the time - I seriously wanted her to disappear or at least stay FAR away from Kwang Chul - but she doesn't listen...
Villians, what can I say they are evil but not any different from other villians I have seen on other dramas.
Music: I Love You by Jo Sung Mo - my favorite song - and I will still listen to it - even though I ended up hating this drama.

The first thing I want to tell anyone that is considering watching the movie this is not your typical and Liz love that you may have heard of or seen before. I must say I find it quite the opposite which is why I was somewhat disheartened while watching this. The series revolves around three main individuals who getting tangled in a web of politics and revenge without even knowing it. It does start off with a few individuals trying to uncover something but the theme stays consistent with revealing past events and making people pay for the crimes they committed. There was absolutely zero romance in this in this love and very little if any warm and fuzzy moments. I could not rate this higher than what I did because I hated how the events played out and ended. The writers or directors have this thing where they play soft love music when two characters come together to show some sort of feeling your budding romance however 80% of the series focused on the relationships of one individual and how she and the other individuals felt. Needless to say after watching 27 of 37 episodes I was somewhat done with the series altogether. There’s this thing that I’ve noticed more and more recently where someone is good to the person that they love and train support them and the person pushes them away. I watched countless episodes of someone being pushed away.

I will simply say I am disappointed because I had expected something different when watching it. I am also extremely disappointed because for so many episodes they showed the life, love and relationships of the female lead in the ending that they gave her although it was it awful it was just a gratifying for me. So if you were into mellow drama and romance or simply just a really good romance series I would really not recommend this. This series was 90% hardship and grief. I found myself watching this and thinking like the writers really overdid it with the obstacles that one character was facing. What really killed this for me was that they did an amazing job of showing the love, commitment and dreams of one of the male leads and even when it’s far as showing how much he cares Only to say nah, you be with this person. Complete let down.

Endless Love is not a romantic drama, it is the story of three main characters (Seo In Ae, Han Kwang Hoon, and Han Kwang Chul) who lost a parent at the hands of the unscrupulous Park Yeong Tae and their endless determination to avenge their parents and bring the perpetrators to justice. This drama fails at presenting a love story but it achieves to present social and political events, atrocities, and the abuse from those in power against individuals that fought and strive to bring during democracy in Korea. The acting from some of the main characters could’ve been better with the exception of Jung Kyung Ho as Han Kwang Chul whose endless love for Seo In Ae (played by Hwang Jung Eum) could move mountains but was never reciprocated by In Ae who had an endless love for Han Kwang Hoon (played by Ryu Soo Young). Overall, Endless Love is not about love and the ending, although it shows closure for all the important characters, is insipid and illogical.

Most intense, real and Beautiful story I've ever seen

Hey guys,

I want to say that this tv drama is one of my favs. Well written and the plot is very strong. The main lead is a female, wich I prefer.

The story revolves surround In Ae, an amazing girl willing to change her reality and of those around her. She is a fighter, someone who hates injustices and believe me she will suffers a lot of this. The middle plot is about she being in love with a man and his brother being in love with her.

Hwang Jung Eum is an amazing actress, I really can't understand why people keep saying she can't act. I knew her through The secret and there she is really amazing. Then I found out about this soap opera and wanted to watch because of her. In this production she gives her best. ***spoilers ahead***

The tortures scenes are very real because of her acting, and the whole ordeal she goes through we can feel her pain. She is really great. I really have no idea why people keep saying otherwise *****

Anyway, its a must watch!
