Actor Bae Sung Woo who got involved in a drunk driving incident will officially return to the industry after four years.
Netflix recently announced that the upcoming K-drama The 8 Show (formerly labeled as Money Game) will be released next year on their platform. They also released the cast list of the upcoming K-drama and surprisingly, actor Bae Sung Woo is included.
Back in 2020, Bae Sung Woo was caught in a drunk driving incident that happened in Gangnam Seoul. The blood alcohol concentration was above 0.08% which means he reached the level of license cancellation. At that time, the actor was leading the SBS K-drama Delayed Justice. Because of his issue, Bae Sung Woo dropped out of the K-drama and actor Jung Woo Sung came to the rescue and became his replacement. Jung Woo Sung stepped up and helped the K-drama as he is also the friend and CEO of Bae Sung Woo's agency.
After four years of hiatus, Bae Sung Woo is returning to star in the upcoming K-drama The 8 Show. He will be working alongside Ryu Joon Yeol, Chun Woo Hee, Park Jung Min, Park Hae Joon, and Moon Jung Hee.
The 8 Show is the first-ever K-drama work of director Han Jae Rim who is known for creating the films Emergency Declaration, The King, The Face Reader, and more.
The upcoming K-drama will base its story on the webtoon of the same name created by Bae Jin Soo.
The 8 Show will revolve around eight participants short on money and joining a reality-variety show called Money Game. The eight people will have to survive for 100 days while staying in a studio with nothing but concrete walls. The eight participants will divide the winning prize of 44.8 billion won (approximately $34.5 million) equally.
