Phupha's having his thoughts interrupted while playing the Khlui given to him by Torfun by thoughts of Tian show just how quickly Phupha was feeling drawn to Tian.

While he was initially startled, he didn't seem surprised in the end and even smiled. Our chief had fallen so fast

 kpoptrash:
- Later when Phupha came to Tian's house he was seriously so mean. Feeling bad again for Tian here

That was one of the harshest dressing downs Phu gives Tian in the series, IMO. Others will disagree but I consider the context for each incident... Phu was still too much in safety-and-security mode to approach Tian, I think. IRL, I would hope someone would wait until they were a bit calmer.

There's no question in my mind as to who actually fell first. It also gives good context for Phupha's inner conflicts, later on, in light of you-know-what...

I really enjoyed the rewatch on Synctube and I am glad everything worked out. I was really stressing over this the whole week haha the pressure was real. Thanks for tuning in and hope to see you next week again. :)

Again, sorry I missed it. I definitely plan to join in next week. Thanks again for going to the trouble! =)

 Jaybird17:
-I laughed hard at Tian's prank to the chief when he frantically dived in the water for him. He was surprisingly chill though when he took his shirt off. The way our little mochi stared at this god awesome body is very telling.

I can't believe that I forgot to mention SHIRTLESS PHUPHA in my original post! XD

 Jaybird17:
-First, the aesthetics, effort and dedication to make the village as authentic and realistic as possible is world class. Just to share, I grew up from the Northernmost part of Cebu Philippines and I see several similarities especially the picturesque. WE also have a comfort room several meters away from the house we call "banwa" and the gecko sounds is a staple at night.

It seemed well done. I'm glad to read that you find it authentic; having lived in similar settings, yourself.

 Jaybird17:
-The way they started and wrapped this episode was executed brilliantly. I love how convicted Tian was in his resolve to do something for others after being given a second life. This is important in his character development and will shape his journey through the entire series.

Agreed.

 Jaybird17:
Now I'll be watching Fish UPon the Sky just because I miss Mixx so damn much!

I tried it, but I have to let it go after today's episode.  The humour escapes me. It's well put together, but just isn't to my tastes...

 kpoptrash:

We are only two for now. The link works for me. Maybe copy the link without the arrows into your browser?

I'd love to join you in the sync tube next time and I'm sorry I couldn' t make it. How fun would it have been to watch it with you guys

I haven't watched episode 2 yet but the first 1 didn't do it for me either. Can't quite put my finger on it. Only watching it because of Mixx really

What travesty! haha

LOL: Someone's gonna revoke my Gay Guy Licence for that blunder!

My problem is with comedy, in general. I just don't find a lot of it to actually be funny. I think I have a very dry sense of humour. I chuckled when Tian gave that self-satisfied grin to Phupha after tricking him into the water, for instance. The humour in FUTS is way too OTT, for me...

Me too, i find some of the  comedy cringey and over the top like the bag on the legs and the reaction (exaggerated and felt too long). They did it again in episode 2 too, i find it really awkward. We missed you last night at the rewatch party, but we had fun. It’s really nice rewatching the episode and have someone to discuss the episode with.  Hope to see you guys in the future episodes.

Thoughts on episode 2:

- the waterfall and the mosquito net scene is really cute, i really like their bickering back and forth

- i’m still curious if Chief ever got to play the Khlui for Torfun, i just find it interesting that he’s shy with her but not with Tian (maybe i’m just overthinking it, lol)

- Rang is so cute and the actor is really good, i’ve seen the him in another show before and his character is so different that i had to check if it was really the same actor

- Doc Nam pushing Tian a little too hard made me sad but i think when he’s in Doctor mode he’s really serious/focused, he also did that in episode 9

- Chief really says the most hurtful words when he’s angry or full of emotion (?), i guess it’s a bit of hint of how he would react in future episodes. Some of the things he said when he conronted Tian after the incident still pinches my heart, but i can also see where Phupha is coming from

-overall a really fun episode, hope to see you guys on the next episode! It would be really fun watching with more people.

As a retired nurse, I can say that there simply isn't time for niceties when a medical situation is serious. I know it was abrupt for Tian, but the Doc needed to assess the situation immediately.
