Not necessarily since guys can have long hair too but that`s a thing to pay attention and I liked to add to the topic... It can be a woman too, in fact, I really like the idea of her twin sister being the ghost or related to him. Someone said to me that by the end of the episode you can totally see the hair too but I didn`t have the time to check.

Wait wait wait, so now that we found out it was the grasshopper caption, it doesn't explain the hair that you saw. I saw the hair as well when I was watching it.
