I think the good thing about these sort of dramas is that some of the characters personalities and beliefs/values you completely agree or passionately disagree with.
Especially the values you passionately disagree with creates such a strong feeling within yourself that you somewhat comprehend the recipient character. And just experiencing that frustration and anger just makes you appreciate the good drama.
like today's episode. fire mom called her daughter all sorts of names cheap etc. and told her she should just find someone and get married and make kids. i disagree vehemently with her and i respect venus for staying true to her love and fighting for it despite all the societal/cultural "wrongs". and i absolutely feel that as the parents fire moms hud have been supportive.
but its just these that make me appreciate these dramas. its usually only achievable in a slice of life drama with slightly more episodes
