Hello everyone,

Just wanted to know everyone here so i thought why not start a thread that can help me know you all....

I started watching anime first due to my other significant :D.. he was really into watching cartoons/anime.. and one day i started watching it with him ... and got addicted to anime.. Then, with my curious perosnality i wonder why not watch a jap drama and ended up watching hana yori dango.. :) After few months , i was brrowsing a site where Coffe prince's rating was really high . it made me wonder that may be i should watch it to0o and glad to do so .. but then i got so0o busy with my utterly amazing life:P and stopped watching any dramas.. but three months ago day , the only friend i have (who watches anime and dramas) suggested me to watch playful kiss :p and thats where it all started.. i watched the rest of the dramas within three months ?? .. Now my question to all of you is

What was your first jpdrama or Kdrama ?
How did you start to watching dramas?

First jdrama: Hana Kimi in 2008 November
First kdrama: IRIS (still haven't finished it) so I say Personal Taste since it was the first I finished summer 2010
First tdrama: Hana Kimi TW February 2011

I read an article about jdrama from some Finnish anime magazine. I laughed soooo hard when I saw pic of Ikuta Toma with bra's on his head so I decided to check Hana Kimi. Just based on that pic XD

So far I've watched over 100 dramas and will watch much much more
First jdrama: Gokusen 1,2, & 3
First kdrama: You're beautiful (just because it took over as number 1 from Yamato Nadeshiko Shinchi Henge)
Still haven't watched a t-drama; j-dramas are my comfy zone and i JUST got comfy enough to watch k-dramas.

I haven't seen THAT much...probably 40-50ish
As everyone else I also started watching anime( in Kindergarten) and later read manga.
We had that great anime magazine back then and they wrote about a drama called Itazura na kiss. I was really curious, but as we had no internet I couldn`t watch it.
In summer 2008 I came across Goong in our national TV and got hooked to it.
While I tried rewatching some Eps ( of course I ended up rewatching it all) I read about other dramas and one was Itazura na kiss!
Of course I started watching it, but my english was a mess and the quality even worser. Found Heavens Tree on the sam site and watched all of the drama.
Heavens Tree is still one of the dramas I don`t like, but the first part was nice. Okey, next one was Kimi wa Petto and with that I watched a whole bunch of MatsuJun drama.

Here you have your drama addict.
I started watching anime (pokemon and digimon when I was a kid) and then anime around.. two years ago? My first 'real' anime was Naruto. After joining a forum and getting to know people around there, I noticed there were quite a few drama fans. At first I found it a little weird to watch asian dramas, but I like weird stuff - I asked a girl who had become a good friend of mine to introduce me to a good drama, and she told me to watch Orange Days, meaning it was my first Jdrama, as well as my first drama. I loved it so much (and still do) and later decided to watch Nodame Cantabile. Since then it all just kept on going downhill (:P), and I watch drama all the time.
My first Kdrama was You're Beautiful. I believe it was my 3rd or 4th drama or so, I can't really remember. I loved that one too. x)
My first taidrama was It Started With A Kiss. I am not experienced in the taidrama section at all. I watched ISWAK, have nearly finished TKA and nearly finished Meteor Garden. That's about it. :p
Oh and I also read manga.

*felt it was necessary to add*

my third one was you're beautiful and our reasons are alike.. the only reason i watched it started with a kiss was because i wanted to know how it is diff than playful kiss.. some say its better some say it is not.. i also watched only 40ish and planning to watch more
First KDrama: Personal Taste
First JDrama: Hana Yori Dango
First TDrama: Devil Beside You

I started watching dramas about a year ago, in the summer of 2010. I used to watch American shows on Hulu allllllllll the time and they had the ad for Personal Taste on the homepage. I read the synopsis and thought it sounded interesting and before I knew it I finished the drama in two days. I think Personal Taste was one of the first Kdramas on Hulu. Anyways, I decided to look up more about korean dramas and watched Boys Before Flowers cause Lee Min Ho was in it, and it all started from there. I became an addict. My first Jdrama, Hana Yori Dango, was because I wanted to watch the japanese version of BOF. I've seen a few more jdramas since then. And I happened to come across Devil Beside You and took a go at it. It was pretty good but I've only seen a handful of Tdramas such as DBY and ISWAK and TKA and Meteor Garden I. That's it. I'm still way more comfortable in the Kdrama world. I've started to branch out a little into anime and manga. I'm in the middle of reading Ouran High School Host Club and watching Kaichou wa Maid-sama!.

Anyways, that's my story of how I became a asian drama addict.
I started many years ago with movies, essay ones by Chinese or Japanese directors. I simply loved their setting, the costumes, the stories told. I lived in south-east Asia for a while myself and the addiction to everything asian has always been there, although I didn't even know of their dramas.
One day I ran out of good Chinese movies and decided to watch something online, coming across The Returner with Takeshi Kaneshiro, then I can't remember how I stumbled upon Tada Kimi Wo Aishteru and decided I needed more of Hiroshi Tamaki. Through a couple of other movies I finally landed on my first J-drama: Nodame Cantabile. I was hooked. From there on it became a sort of frenzy, out of which I also had the grand ambition to learn Japanese - an ambition I haven't given up on yet. Good plan, Rita. Now I can go to Japan and declare my love to the first taxi-driver I come across in his native language... :P

My first K-drama was... hmm... My Girl, I think. I liked it very much, and went on with Boys Before Flowers. Finally I watched Coffee Prince and that was the drama which really made it for my Korean-drama addiction. For the love of symmetry, now I can go to Korea and declare my love to any chapchae noodles express deliverer in Korean.

My first Taiwanese was Autumn's Concerto and I'm glad it was so, for I still consider it one of the best Taiwanese dramas out there. Had I tried with Devil Beside Me or It started with a Kiss I would probably have given up on them.
I can say "wo ai ni = I love you", in Mandarin, by the way... ;)
interesting.. i am taking a break from anime..i don't find any on air ones interesting .. but i have watched kaichou wa maid-sama as well ... i really liked it and it is diff from manga so there was something diff to look forward to .. :) and ouran high school host club,)whether it is anime or manga, its one of my fav ... its very cutish ..
Its really strange... I remmember, that my first anime was Cardcaptor Sakura (not the one with engl. dub, but the REAL ONE in japaneesse - yeah, they are different ^_^). It was about 6 years ago. So as many other pple, I started with anime at first. And here is the strange thing... I dont remember my first J-drama O_o ! It somehow came naturally to me to watch them, but i just dont know, what was the first one, but I think that it was Hana Yori Dango (or Nodame Cantabile)...
And its the same with K-dramas too O_o I think that my first drama was My Snow White (a.k.a. Taste Sweet Love)??? Or maybe Goong... It was also about 3 years aho, but in that time, I somehow liked J-dramas more. My absolute addiction to k-dramas started about half a year ago. And Im still addicted ^_^
Wow I am suprised, there are some of you who can watch dramas in the tv. Well you are really lucky XD

I also was an anime and manga fan before. It all started back then with sailor moon, which was a big hit in germany (After that Dragon ball and Digimon followed). The next step was the music. I wondered that it wasn't mention before. I think that really was what deepend my addiction for Japan. And then as I was 16, my friends found dramas and I got into it. That was in 2005, the first one I watched was Dragon Zakura. We watched it together and I was really surprised that jdramas exsited. I've never read or heard anything of it before. And then after some years they piled up. My first K-drama was then Full house, also because of my friends. At first I was not interested, because I couldn't stand the language. I thought okay this was nice but I will stick with japanese ones. But when i felt bored I tried korean ones again and found out that the storys suit me much better than the japanese. The same process followed with taiwanese dramas, though I still can't stand the language until today (and somehow they are still too cheesy XD) I think the first t-drama that I watched was bull fighting but I can't remember clearly. And now over this period of time my addiction grew so deep that I can't live without them XD

Haha.. I would kill for the chance to watch dramas and anime in TV :D but i hate dubbed versions ^_^
What: My first drama was Zettai Kareshi.
Why: I was trying to learn japanese and came across the site AJATT which suggests that you emerse yourself in all facets of the language you're trying to learn. A few quick google searches later, I found a thread (i can't remember which site/forum) about Zettai Kareshi. It sounded fun. I watched and was hooked to dramas immediately, hehehe. By chance I stumbled onto my second drama, Call center no Koibito, and my addiction was solidified :-p
