Day 2 of August Challenge: Anything you would like to share about your username and profile photo?

Long story short, the name Onyx comes from this webtoon I love and cherish called Boy Girlfriend, which is a BL where the main couple is Keane and Onyx. It's quite a complicated BL tbh (I've been reading it for almost 2 years now) but it's a very special webtoon for me cuz I started reading it around the time I first found BL (not just dramas but BL in general). And the character Onyx was my favourite, I loved everything about him, especially his name, so I decided to make it my nickname. And then my friend came up with Onyx The Hedgehog because it sounds like "Sonic The Hedgehog" (it was just a joke, I'm not much of a fan of Sonic) and I really loved that name so I just stuck to it

As for my pfp, it one of my favourite scenes from The Shipper- every time First said ehhh? just made me lol XD

AUGUST CHALLENGE - DAY 2 - PF NAME/PIC

So interesting to hear about everyone's pf names/pics. 

My name is obvious, but on second thought, I'd like to mention that I'm using the word "American" as a description of where/what I am, not cuz I feel patriotic pride, although I like the states a lot. My mindset is much more global than maybe the average American Joe. Some Americans wouldn't even like that I said this much, so I'm stopping right here!

My pic is of my ULT, ULT love, Felix of Stray Kids. (They are on my pfp, scroll to the middle, lol). He and Hannie (Felix's bandmate) are forever in my heart and so far there hasn't been anyone else (including BL actors) to replace them.  

But I'll sacrifice and choose an ult BL person for Q#15!  :-)  :-) I don't think it'll be too hard to pick one, even though there are SO many fabulously gorgeous guys.

Also keane is such a sweetheart. lets stop right here before i start gushing about them, Also I too have been reading BG from 2020-2021 .

My username is actually just my email address which is taken from scripture. Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.

Now my profile pic. I've changed it a few times this year already. I just like cool pics. I enjoy the Chinese fantasy dramas and I wanted to go with Chinese mythological creatures and I found the pic on google.

Recently, I've been feeling like my passion for anime is fading. Nothing is catching my interest, and I'm still figuring out why. It could be because I've been watching anime since the early 2000s, so everything has a similar plotline. Nothing surprises me anymore, although I still have a soft spot for slice-of-life anime and enjoy rewatching the classics for nostalgia. I recently stumbled upon a video featuring a captivating fight scene from the Chinese/Japanese anime series Yi Ren Zhi Xia - The Outcast 3. The animation style was remarkable, with fluid and clean movements showcasing a solid influence of tai chi and martial arts techniques.

I have a deep passion for romance novels, and I must confess that my absolute favorite sub-genre is mafia romance. There is an inexplicable allure to the world of organized crime that I find endlessly fascinating. I often question what draws me to this genre, but I've come to accept that it's just how my mind operates. The excitement of mafia romance always keeps me coming back for more.

If you'd like any recommendations for mafia novels, my Audible playlist is an entire series. I'm also addicted to supernatural stories. I could talk for hours, but the anime you mentioned made me think of the Webtoons I read. Have you read 'Walk on Water,' 'On or Off,' 'Twittering Birds Never Fly,' or anything by the mangaka Zariya Ranmaru? I'm obsessed with their series 'Shangri La no Tori. Coyote' is good as well.

My Love Mix Up Ep9

As we enter the later part of this drama, I have a feeling this one will be hard to rate. The thing is— I don’t think about this show or even look forward to it during the week— BUT like clockwork, I sit down to watch and find myself a little surprised at how much I enjoyed it.

I think the reason for this is that this show is very episodic. Every episode has a clear intro, conflict, and a clean cut conclusion. Is that bad or good for a drama? I’m thinking both.

This drama has really done a wonderful job in endearing the side characters to us. Mudmee is so funny and lovely. Half is a frustrating idiot, but he’s our frustrating idiot. Or rather, Mudmee’s frustrating idiot? I love that Annop and Sin are basically the fairy godmother’s of this show, guiding our kids through their love and life concerns. 

That last part of the show where Atom had to help cook for Kongthap’s birthday party was adorable. I see where this is going, because my boy has found his calling! Not Thap thinking EVERYTHING about Atom is cute!!! I love that for them. Both Gemini and Fourth (but specially Gemini) have really grown into these roles, I didn’t see it in the first two episodes, but now I do.

Lastly, I really liked that little scene at the end where both moms learned something about their child.
