Hey everyone, do you consider dramas of which you skipped a lot as completed or not?
I'm mostly talking about the daily drama soaps.

I usually don't watch these, but sometimes there is one that is a bit interesting.
But because these kind of dramas drag too long I only watch the parts which interest me and skip the rest.

yes,i havent watched a korean daily in around a year but i used to skip unecessary scenes with  characters i couldnt care,i have also skipped scenes in dramas i found bad (lower rating than 6) but browsed through the scenes to have an idea of what happened or i only cared about one couple instead of the two in the drama so i only watched their scenes and the other couple i was browsing through.

I put them as completed because generally you have a good idea of what happened, meanwhile i havent rated any drama i have dropped cause i dont know what happpens or the premise just wasnt for me.

Thank you, will probably just do that and add some notes to them.

And agreed, if I care enough that I want to add them it mostly also means that I know most of what happens during the drama.

Some dramas are just way too long because they fill the time with fluff instead of the actual storyline, and to keep my sanity, I end up skipping some of those fluff scenes. So I would vote yes! Skipping scenes doesn't mean that you didn't finish the drama as long as you understand the plot points and story.

Haha yes, and it's also a habit I'm trying to get out of. C-dramas seem to be the main culprit (especially the newer ones), as with such long run times they tend to choke them full of filler/ fluff content. I've resolved to admit to myself I'm no longer enjoying a drama and drop it rather than plough through or skip scenes of something for the sake of marking it completed.

Long story short, I'm attempting to be a reformed skipper.

Yup, especially drama that more than 16 eps, most was cdrama with 40 eps. Without skip button to jump to next subtitle, i cant

Some boring scene or any scene that i dont like it, I just skip it

No, I don't. I don't skip anything, but I do use 2x speed option. Often. If something is so bad that I can't watch it anymore I just drop.

Yeah, I do skip boring parts but I consider it as completed. There are dramas/movies I even come back to watch again as they are so good.

Completing a drama doesn’t necessarily mean watching every episode or every moment in detail. What truly matters is grasping the essence of the story. You can take advantage of features like skipping or speeding up to navigate through the drama more efficiently. The goal is to understand the content and feel a sense of satisfaction and happiness from your viewing experience. Remember, watching a drama or movie is not like reading an academic book that demands intense focus and stress. It’s all about relaxation and escaping from daily pressures. Enjoy the journey, and let yourself unwind!

and i do that :)

Yes I do.

And then I heave a sigh of relief after completion of such drama where I needed to fwd .

Hello, Shapur II

For me, it's a no. Even if I know all the storyline from the start to the end if I haven't watched them episode by episode then I consider myself as not watching it or dropped it (if I watch some episodes).

But I do play with playback speed setting. I watch Fangs of Fortune and Good Manager in 2x speed but anytime I peel or cut fruits, vegetables, or meats I'm slowing it down to 0.5x speed. And I watch some Thailand and Chinese dramas in 0.75x, and some Japanese sad movies in 1.25x. I'm a non-English speaker watching drama in English subtitle after all.
