Saburo:

Kushikatsu orders at Fujiyama Texas. Annual visit with family.

yummm

One of our regular izakaya, UOSAN, celebrated its sixth (!) anniversary last weekend. They had some items not on their regular menu that I wish would become staples:

Aji tataki.

Kaki/aji fry.

Chutoro tataki.

First-ever visit to Aburiya Ibushi -- four (!) years after they opened during the pandemic lockdown. Been walking past this place all the time and finally got an open Saturday.

"Crushed" cucumber tataki, one of my favorite appetizers.

Beef flank aburiyaki, marinated in miso ginger garlic sauce.

Chicken thigh aburiyaki, marinated in shio-koji.

Ibushi had really good vibes and authentic preparation with the crazy high flames at the counter. We'll be back.

Mochi with soup :)

Took the work gang to IZAKAYA DANJI last weekend once more.

The garlic butter clams are a recent addition to the menu. And you can NEVER go wrong with the Chicken Nanban here!

Cheesecake ice cream from 31

Solo last Friday at the IZAKAYA DANJI counter. Unfortunately a friend called in sick.

Just the usual nibbles: Gyoza, boiled pork, kaki fry, and fries. Several glasses of Asahi draft didn't hurt, either.

Katsu don in Yoshinoya

Nibbles at IZAKAYA GAKU last weekend.

Ohitashi

Sauteed veggies in broth

Korokke

Shumai. Simple is best.

Tofu and pork kakuni agedashi.

On Mon, had sushi + a little tempura (if it was tempura) and WASABI AND SOY SAUCE !:D
