lol :p ...i never said it wasn't a good drama...i did like the drama and the ost...i just wasn't up to the two main leads...they failed to warm up to me till the last episode lol...else the plot and writing of this drama was good...i rated it a 7 and that says a lot when i didn't even like the 2 main leads lol...7 and above means i really enjoyed the drama ^_^

that's next on my list..i somehow know i will love the drama...LMK after all...it's already d/l-ed and ready to go..but i'm being too greedy and saving it for my rainy days..this drama and Hello My Teacher...2 dramas that i've d/l-ed and am really looking forward to watching but can't bring myself to start it because i don't want it to finish hahaha

i have already watched Labhu Shafu lol..and i liked it

Yeah, Nodame is sort of an anomaly for me. I don't like or ever watch anime...go figure. And about City Hall, I am totally joking. I know dramas in general are different things to different people and the two leads included. (a lot of people seems split on their like/dislike of those two actors) You and I actually like a lot of the same things mostly.

and speaking of... I can't wait to hear your impressions of Dal Ja and Biscuit Teacher. I really adored both. I especially think you will like Dal Ja's Spring but I'll wait eagerly for your impressions once you start! :)
Hi I just wanted to add my twopence...being a little older than the average viewers on here I too found the manga acting very awckward to start with as this was one of the very first dramas I watched in my life (and I never read mangas or watched animes). However I plodded on because it was highly recommended to me and I manged to totally overcome the manga acting part (by ignoring it) and never regretted watching this once. The plot is so involving, the actors are fabulous and the whole classical music theme in the background is absolutely fascinating (and I am not into classical music at all). I preferred the two movies to the drama and it is at the top of my favourite lists. I would recommend it to any drama addict like myself.
Aww you guys are hating on the manga-likeness. Well I guess everyone has their own taste, but I for one love the manga-likeness. But what pushes this show to the top is the depth as others have said. Well I mean, that is has both depth and hilarity.
I'm watching the Nodame special now, which is awesome btw, and seeing Nodame crying while Chiaki performs makes me think that Nodame is the type of girl every guy needs, or at least me. She admires him, she comforts him, encourages him, gets his butt in gear if need be, shes playful, she's passionate about him and what he does, and really, I guess Chiaki does the same for Nodame. Oh and the scene where she's speaking french for the first time out of the book and she says help police he beats me in front of the waiter was HILARIOUS. Also the part where she spends the night in the hotel with him. So funny.

Words cannot describe how much I love Nodame Cantabile. I've watched it like 10+ times, I've make my husband and my mom watch it and they loved it as well. Between the theater movies I was dying of worry how the story would end. That's not all - if I see a concert where there are pieces from Nodame played it's a good reason for me to go there. Nodame ga dai-suki! Gyaboo!

For enjoyment, a very good fan-made MV ( one of my favorites) perfect song selection I would say:

The MV was great! Especially the part about crying and the window. They did an awesome job.
This drama makes you really want to play/listen to classical.
I just watched the final score...and love it!

Was it your first time watching it?
yep, first time for the final score. I've seen nodame cantible a few times, love it every time:)
I started learning Violin because of Nodame Cantabile. :) And play the Piano again after a long time as well. I wanted to learn the Schubert piece that Nodame played in the competition. I also learned the Appassionata piece. :) I wouldn't mind if they made the Opera-hen into a drama/anime special.

Cool. I want to learn too! I also like the Schubert piece
Finally finished Nodame for the 2nd time. I'm going to miss it. I like the way it ended.

I know, the ending truly fits the story...

And I really like how they built the tension in the second movie, without the cliche drama methods- "I hate you but I love you", they showed that in a true relationship you will face problems, but overcoming them will make you understand and appreciate each other more.

Spoiler in white below - highlight it

I like how they knew the question I was asking and they addressed it. I kept thinking, "When she finally does play the concerto with Chiaki, then what? Will she have no more aim?" The writers already saw where my mind was going and through Stresseman and others solved the problem without the problem destroying their relationship, and all of that took place while their relationship was still forming/being finalized. And I like how the same thing that initiated their relationship, at least on Nodame's part, finalized it in the end. By finalized, I mean that they were officially together forever, and the part I'm talking about is that Mozart piano duo.

Because of spoilers(lot about the ending of the movies), my reflections in the white below:

What I really like in this, is the, let's say dualism of Chiaki's feelings towards her. He isn't only about getting a loving girl to support him as in most dramas (and frankly Nodame is as much trouble as support). First and foremost he appreciates her as an ingenious musician. It's not only about the relationship between them, it's always intertwined with being an artist. For me one of the most touching, truly magnificent scene, was Nodame's and Stresseman concert, when Chiaki humbly admits that maybe their whole journey wasn’t about fulfilling his dreams, but that he was a mere tool in God’s plan to bring Nodame on stage. It spite of all the quirkiness of their relationship ( I love how in the TV specials Chiaki with horror admits to himself that he loves Nodame- Weirdo’s Forest LOL) I believe they represent ultimate love-story – because they not only accept each other as they are, but also believe in each other greatness as musicians and firmly support , push or pull each other to achieve more. Like in the ending , when Chiaki refuses to let Nodame resign from career and gives her strength and support to not be afraid and continue. And I agree that piano duet was a perfect wrap-up. Every time I watch it I remember the beginning and how much they’ve grown and want to watch it once more-LOL the vicious cycle.. I want to re-watch right now !!! But I can’t, I’m too busy. … *Finish
