Yes! I don't know why it didn't do well when it aired in Japan, but it was really good :)

Ooh definitely Ghost Friends(in my opinion). I really loved that.
one i can remember so far is Gakko ja Oshierarenai, not your usual hs drama

And if someone says Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge, im going to laugh.

For me, i'd say Jdramas like Shiroi Haru, Godhand Teru(personal favorite), and Bara no Nai Hanaya to naem a few.

Yes Bara no Nai Hanaya & Sore wa, Totsuzen, Arashi no you ni are defiantly! I love those 2.

Ehh... Bokura no Yuuki too. <3
Boku Dake No Madonna
Futatsu No Spica (Twin Spica): I barely hear about this and I only came across this drama because an actor I liked is in it. The story isn't anything special but I love how realistic and emotional it is.
If you liked Futatsu no Spica, it is much better as an anime by a factor of 10million. They missed a lot of critical plot points in the live action that made the anime so spectacular.

Most underrated for me? JIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Jin 2 is turning out to be just as nail bite worthy as Jin was.
itazura na kiss. it was the second drama I saw and it was only because I had seen the anime. It's from 96' so the cloths, hair and everything else looks priceless!! it is funny in a really silly way, all emotion are really exaggerated. The story is overly corny and your typical shojo.. so don't get me wrong I don't love it as romance drama, I love it as a comedy (:

yeah it was so corny and overacted that it made me not like it D: if i had watched it before taiwanese and korean versions, who knows maybe i would've liked it more
My boss My hero and Zeni Geba

Yeah. I agreed with JIN. Many people didn't watch it because they think it looks like a taiga-type drama.
They are wrong. JIN is a very good drama.
A combination of medical+historical+mystery+suspense+romance+a bit of comedy.
One of my favourite dramas of all time.

I think My boss My Hero is not underrated to begin with.
My Boss My Hero is a basic-and-must-watch drama if you are a fan of JDorama.
i agree with LIFE..
it was really an awesome drama..

and is JIN underrated??
-i didn't think so coz they made the 2nd season..^_^

Wow, I did not expect this at all. I actually only entered this thread to say Godhand Teru and only thinking I was the only person that would mention it. So yeah, Godhand Teru too. xD
I actually haven't seen that much J dramas in comparison to the huge amount of Kdramas Ive seen (haha hense my username) but the ones that i have seen that are underrated are:

First Kiss
Guilty Akuma to Keiyakushita Onna (not sure why this is underrated, hello Tamaki!)
Nagareboshi (wonderfuly acted, and intense chemistry)
Strawberry Shortcake (its very old for a drama but the cast is spectacular and the story is interesting)
