Sometimes I wonder if they are trying, and failing miserably, to model him after the Joker...lol
I had the same thought myself, actually. Then I rolled my eyes and couldn't take him seriously.
I know a lot of Korean dramas start off with the hero acting like a jerk but you get to know him as the writers start showing his other (better) side, so that doesn't bother me so much because I'm presuming it'll change. It's moreso the heroine's flipflopping that's pulling me out of the story. If she were outwardly all-business and inwardly all girlish and excitable that'd be okay, but imo she's just too quick to be vulnerable in front of the prince. He is like the
last person she'd want to see her in that state and it seemed from ep.01 that being a career military officer she'd be able to hide her emotions a little better than she did. It felt forced and too rushed and she seems really inconsistent as a character. And that's more than enough to break the story for me.
I suppose I will finish out ep.3 and maybe give 4 a try but I've got other things I actually
know I like that I want to watch so we'll see. But thanks for your input/insight, folks! You've been very helpful.
