if it does, than me too..lol
i do like RTP..or actually did..(only like for about its first half eps)..but still..it's overrated imo..
but i also relieved that K2H didn't get less than 10% ratings..
it was the most competitive wed-thu, after all..

Jae Ha was. Not even Hang A, who, just like Shi Kyung was the main vehicle to make the king grow and become the person he became.
Therefore, although I'll never repeat enough how much I'll miss Shy Kyung even if I watch this show 10 times, I have been fully invested in Jae Ha's story, from beginning to end. And it was a brilliant arc, thank to the writers AND thanks to Lee Seung Gi. Yes, I may be a little biased right now because, while Jo Jung Suk's performance was SO OUTSTANDING it's almost unbelievable, I fell in love with Lee Seung Gi nonetheless, to the point I'm contemplating taking up Gumiho again (it would be my fifth time. Really, Rita, you must be completely mad).

I'm also more than happy that Bung Gu ends up in jail. Death comes too swiftly, even if it goes through torture. And the part of Bung Gu which is most susceptible to pain is his ego, not his useless body. It doesn't matter that Club M wasn't destroyed as a concept, for we all know that once a war lord is killed, the next is ready to take up where the other left. It would have been completely unrealistic to have Bung Gu and his minions die and everything is back to pink in this world.

agree...i would not give this drama a 10 if it had ended with a pink..lol
i think this is so realistic..
club M has a very big impact to economy of the world..it's not just a company..so it will be unrealistic if it's destroyed..

and yes..seung gi was awesome..
i love him..a lot..since i started watching 1N2D years ago...i also love his songs..but i had to admit that he wasn't good at acting..
but now,,WOW!!standing applause for seung gi..

ah,,and it reminds me..i really applauded when i finished watching the last ep..lol

Well-said, what more is there to add? The drama ended, it eas a great ride, offered a galore of lovable characters in the background of a gripping story. But I understand what you;re saying about Koreans having an issue with the question of reunification. And I applaud MBC for releasing the drama. I am starting tolike them much more than the KBS/SBS ones. I am currently trying to watch the Equator man, buty somehow I feel very disconnected and it looks like just another corporate reven drama and I do not like this type because its already a tired script... but I am expecting to get into ti, even though corporate revenge dramas usually are not my thing, I liked a couple of the most original works, the rest seems like derivatives. And I hate rooftop prince with a passion. I had a run throgh it..it;s boring, its uninspired. I can;t believe it had the highest viewership. But then the drop in the finale ep for k2h could have had something to do with EKS death...this should bode well for the actor.

Also, I cannot believe Lee Seung Gi, he wa completely amazing in the drama and I am GLAd it was him, he was made for that role,. Had it been Chae Seun Wong, I would hate it. Chae Seung Won is quite cheesy as an actor to me. And ha ji won was just perfect. I loved how the story of the two progressed. It was so apealing, especially given the setting. And there were moments when LSG reached moment of trully emotional acting. What I loved about EKS and the king was that the king loved to tease him so much and yet he brought him to the palace,- a good sense for people...and I also had a sense that he knew ESK could be potentially a brother in law. I loved that fragment in ep 18 before he went off to china between the two of them. Their friendshipo was really interesting too, JJS's performances were understated, very aprpriopate for his characters.

Also, I liked how the great gradndfather in all of koreand ramas got a slightly different role, less pristine than usually..I felt a lot of awkarndess between him and his son...I wnder if the actors didn't get along well..or is it simply a matter of script...because I didn't think he was emotional enough after the death, either, somehow very rigid, perhaps too much so, partly explainable by character, I suppose.
My favourite WOC outside of main characters was Kang Su (I Hope I remebered it well :D)

Most of all, the drama had a TREMENDOUS sense of development, seamless logical flow AND took care to show all characters at the end, tied up all lose ends, this is really rewarding to see when most dramas fail to do so in a desire for effect, rather than care for details.

I love MBC and the sisters for not playing it safe and offering an explosive drama like this, a drama that had everything, all range of emotions, intelligent writing. I seriously hope average ratings will not deter someone from giving it some recognition. At least for costumes and set, if not characters. There was a range of problems, and most of all uncliched, normal family, loving and likeable and perfectly cast.

Smetimes i wish korean tvs could hear the foreigners voice on the dramas and make it count. in a global tv it may be possible yet.

Speaking of ratings, I wonder what was the wors ever drama, drama to receive the lowest ratings in history of cn
It is amazing to me that King 2 Hearts isn't the highest rated drama. I do get that being from America that I probably have a differnt point of view about the actual political event that took place. However, if they based it on acting alone, then King 2 Hearts blows all the other dramas out of the water. I am not use to having an emotional experience from a drama. I am usually detached. Even some of my other favorite dramas did not pull me in like this one did. I felt like I was going to have a break down when *Jae Ha goes to find Hang Ah in prison, she gets shot, and he thinks she is dead*. Seriously, I had to turn off the episode, calm down and start again. To say nothing of the way it was written that tied everything together. I know that some people were turned off by episode 19, but I thought that it was an amazing experience to watch such great acting. Don't get me wrong...I would have loved a happy ever after ending for that couple too. Anyway, I just wish that it had received higher ratings so that these actors could get an award. They deserve them!!!
Wow, Bladey, you asked what there was to add, but there was a lot to add and you worded it so well: RTP, Cha Seung Won (urgh), corporate revenge (another urgh from me), the beautiful friendship between these two very different characters, the family bonds and the amazing sense of development. I agree with everything. :)

I have no idea what the worst rating ever have been. Probably an unknown drama which never even made it to a streaming site, lol.

I don't think he'll still be alive...or can he? No, I'm in denial...I'm not going to get my hopes up. *sigh* So depressing... Couldn't the twist have been the sudden war/bombing threats from North Korea to South Korea? Or did you read about the twist being part of ep. 20? This drama is breaking my heart. I hope John Mayer burns for killing my Eun Shi Kyung! This reminds me of what happened in another drama I watched last year.

Maybe I should have watched K2H first and then RTP. I didn't cry one bit or get teary eyed in it.

Do....does that mean *HE WAS KILLED?????! and that I won the bet? Let´s see.....SORRY but I already hate me myself for my thoughts. I just want to win that bet.
amrita828 wrote: Yes, possibly you are a crazy fan, but then so am I. It annoys me too, no need to deny it. It annoys me in general when average dramas are raved about as if they were masterpieces, this is not the first time, nor will it be he last. Please, refrain from telling me it's a question of taste - I know it and I am NOT going to dispute taste, what right do I have? But quality is quality, otherwise we should say a Harlequin is a better product of art than, say, Henry James.

LOL :p It doesn´t make sense.I hardly have it a 8....I thought about giving less though too....The problem is that a 7 can be good or meant quite bad in my rating. It depends of my feelings~
@Rita: Hahaha. :D I hate him but he had a pretty good chemistry with Kim suh Nah in City Hall and the drama was very unabashedly romantic and that worked well, Ki Suh Nah is a very good actress. But other than that I wouldnt really want to watch him. Well it kept viewership above 10 percent. But it is definitely going to be overlooked drama of the year 2012. Salaryman had a very big viewership, so it;s probably a candidate for the drama of the year but I liked it too, it was wacky and lee Bum Seo is also a great actor, and it was by the writers of giant, which i also like, a sweeping story, though a drama as big as 60 episode cannot avoid some cliches..Still Rita though revenge is not my best theme for a drama, Bad Guy was a pretty sexy revenge drama. Giant also has elements of revenge in a coporate setting but thewriting is good and sometimes takes really unpredictable turns there is love, there is hate and twists fo fate there are schemes, but there is struggle but there is a sense of brotherhood there as well. I really cannot explain why I like some of those dramas and others not. And then I get dramas like JJW or King2Hearts, which offer everything I am really looking forward to in a drama.. it;s like my drama watching has Dramas and dramas, if you catch my drift.

My feelings too. Though I'm not from States.
But fact of the matter is there was tight competition, so what can we do. I had the same issue with Jejungwon. Hoenstly The best dramas are sometimes the most overlooked dramas.

Miri, I was waiting for you. I'm ready to face the payment: you can choose my next watching. Losing this bet has been bad enough, because it means my wish of seeing him live was not granted.
I only have 1 plead: please, please don't make me watch The Greatest Love.
LOL

1)Akai Ito
2)Yamato Nadeshiko Shichi Henge

Watch one of those and I am satisfied:)
