Just watched episode 8 and LOLed when Dol Seo said Arang was a gumiho!!!! Anyways...my thought is...maybe Eun Oh's mother is possessed? She wants Arang's body so I was thinking then she must have stole Eun Oh's mother's? It's only speculation but this episode made me think of this theory....I also doubt this will actually be

i think that's a pretty good speculation, it would explain what she's doing with the souls and why the murders have been happeing for centuies but Eun Oh's Omma seems to have had living family just before Eun Oh was born.

That's what I'm thinking too. I think this makes really good sense. I mean, it seems like the Thing wants a new host, that is, that the Thing and the host are separate entities. Therefore, Eun Oh's mother is a vessel for evil but not a vessel of evil.

LOL at the Gumiho thing. I was wondering if there was going to be a joke about it.

I agree with this theory, I would just like to point out, that Eun Oh's mom, in my opinion, gave her body away willingly, as we have seen she was seeking some kind of revenge from some magistrate who, she said was the reason her whole family died on the same day... just some speculations...
I think that you guys are right with your theory that Eun Oh's mom is possessed and that she did it willingly to get eveb with the magistrate. Maybe that is why Arang (can't remember her original name) died in the first place???

Oooh I think you may be onto something here :) it does fit in with the story quite well...I'm curious to see how it will work out and if our speculations are right aha

Loving this at the moment! It was slow at first but it's really picking up!

Good point! She may have been a willing participant despite not being the actual Thing. :D

Or, she could be evil and possess supernatural powers since Eun Oh has the ability to see ghosts. Maybe she abandoned him because of that. She didn't want her real son to be involved with her revenge scheme so she decided to manipulate another boy. Maybe she possessed the power all along but she didn't utilize them til now. Whatever the reason, I'm really curious about how this story will unravel!

That is another possibilty but it got me thinking let's say Eun Oh's mother is evil then how could she raise (sorta) Eun Oh and Ju Wal at the same time in different places? That's what I can't figure out...his mother disappeared 3 years ago...but Ju Wal had been luring sacrifices since he was a child...she can't be in two places at once...

Scratching my head over this...can't seem to figure it out...which is a good thing aha!!!

I am pretty sure the evil spirit just took over his mothers body... ( at least that is what I think lol)
lol so many theories going around, i think everyone just gotta wait until the truth to be unfold xD
i forget which episodes it was in but in one episode they show Eun Ho being taken from his mother at a young age. there is another flash back where he says he wants to live with her and she tells him to go back to his father, so she wasnt the one raising him. this leaves an opening for her to raise Ju Wal, but doesnt answer any of our buring questions. BTW, who else totally melted when Arang told Ju Wal her name and he repeated it back... the sound of his voice in that moment was just...guh!
Yeah but from another episode not sure if it's the same one...Eun Oh shouts at his mother that she shouldn't have raised him so I'm guessing she raised him from birth til he was a child when he was to live with his father. Plus from what we've seen it feels like Eun Oh visit his mother often...but again it's just speculation
Hmmm not sure.....didn´t find the plot & trailer interesting enough. Someone want´s to convince me otherwise? :D MAybe...I will give it a try then^^

The plot is so much more than the trailer gives it credit for, and it's both comedic and serious. It's beautifully shot too! Plus the Jade Emperor is hot--no, hotter than hot!
