So I was just getting my Korean wave fix on the Soompi website and I just happened to stumble upon this mindboggling atricle: "Hong Sisters Tease About a Possible 'You're Beautiful' Sequel. " Ive been seriously wanting a sequel for 2 years now and I almost cried in excitement for the possibilities. I know its not set in stone but just hearing the Hong Sisters even talk about YB again gives the fanatics out there hope! LOL. Anyways heres the link to the article for anyone who cares...

What are your thoughts on this news and what do you think the storyline/plot might look like?
=/

That sums it up for me.
With all due respect: what can happen in a sequel? A new nun going to live in their house? Go Mi Nam/Niu and Jang Geun Suk's character (can't remember the name, sorry), getting married for the duration of 16 episodes? The whole band visiting Go Mi Nam to Africa? The twins creating their own band (A.N.Heaven)? Jeremy dressing as a girl and going to live incognito in the house of an all-girl-band?

I agree that the ending of the drama was abrupt, but a whole sequel... can't imagine it. Unless they repeat the same scenario with different characters, which would be even worse, in my humble opinion.
See if it was any other screenwriter Id would say yuh how are you gonna make the sequel any better. But the Hong Sisters are brilliant writers. If anybody can make a new interesting story for a sequel it would be them! Im sure they have some good ideas in thier head for them to even be bringing the possibility up. So I will look forward to seeing my favorite drama characters come to life once again on my screen=D

I don't know... I find this quote from the article very telling: "The duo said it would not be immediate but they would "consider it seriously" should the Japanese remake become successful." That sounds like the possibility of a sequel is contingent upon the success and popularity of the Japanese remake. In other words, they'll be responding to public demand and will try out a sequel to build upon the fanaticism the original engendered. If they came forward and said that they already had a story in mind, or that they felt as if the original left room for further exploration, then I would be less skeptical. Right now, it looks to me like they're just trying to cash in on a story that's been tapped dry already.

Unless they go with rita's suggestion of Jeremina joining a female idol group. In which case, yes this please.

I'm not surprised that their waiting to see how popular the Japanese remake is. Even though YB is internationally popular it was also the lowest rated drama for the Hong Sisters in Korea. I'd be hesitant too...

Yup, that's exactly how I feel.
I wonder if they meant a whole new set of characters and story with a similar theme and foundation (such as the manager and what-not) or just a continuation of this story.

Needless to say no matter what they made, I would definitely watch it......who knows if I'd finish, but I'd definitely give it a shot.

that would be a dream come true to me if they'd use the same actor XDD
I like the reverse role idea for a Korean season 2...

Am I the only one that wants to cry over the bad remake in Japanese... Or am I baised because I don't think any of those actors can act?
I haven't watched J-version but I saw trailer and I think it looks cute ^^ But not as cute as original
