I don't know... I find this quote from the article very telling:
"The duo said it would not be immediate but they would "consider it seriously" should the Japanese remake become successful." That sounds like the possibility of a sequel is contingent upon the success and popularity of the Japanese remake. In other words, they'll be responding to public demand and will try out a sequel to build upon the fanaticism the original engendered. If they came forward and said that they already had a story in mind, or that they felt as if the original left room for further exploration, then I would be less skeptical. Right now, it looks to me like they're just trying to cash in on a story that's been tapped dry already.
Unless they go with rita's suggestion of Jeremina joining a female idol group. In which case, yes this please.
