PinkDiamond wrote: I do agree with Jeanie's assessment about Jae Hui having to work hard for what he has. He is self made. However...I still just want to a drama with two average people trying to make it work through life obstacles be it jealous friends, siblings, or even them trying to make the best of a relationship through financial crisis. Most of the dramas...not all...but most involves someone in the love triangle being rich. I'm not picky though. I'm just saying.

For me, the drama doesn't fall short of my expectations. If anything...it actually exceededs them, because I initially wasn't expecting much...just another K-drama with an average love triangle or what not. I must say though, the chemistry between and emotions between JH and Officer Cha...*SMH*...it's so realistic.

On another note, I want to shake the step sister and Rep. Pak...I can't believe they are letting their jealousy and greed run on a rampage like that.

Ahhh...I've said so much...I never write this much...I must be really glad that MDL is back up.

Haha I agree with you PD, I wasn't expecting anything from this drama except another typical rom-com, and agreed - their chemistry really is realistic!

And I want to shake the two of them, too!

Haha we're all glad it's back up :D
jeanie65jh wrote: I would have to agree with most of what you said about but for a few things. The two leads are doing a great job with their acting in these roles; particularly Yoon Si Yoon. I thought he was great in KOBKTG, but in here he has exceeded expectations in stepping into the role of Jae Hee. He’s pretty much knocking it out the park. I don’t discount Lee Ji Ah either. While her character is a bit grumpy pants and she isn’t always likable, I feel she shows an inner spark and core of hope to break out of that shell all on her own. When she has those moments I think she glows. And just to be a bit shallow those two are tender, feisty, raw speaking and hot together.

Where I don’t exactly agree with you is maybe the feeling your getting with the fact that this is a “rich guy meets average girl” recipe. Perhaps I have simply bought the diamond plate and like to watch it winking in the light. Ooooh Pretty!

I think what makes this drama special for me, besides the chemistry and acting of the leads, is the combo of their behind the scenes baggage, how they are coming together and the writer’s sparkly dialog as they do… I love that Jae Hee isn’t a chaebol. He is a self made man of a company he built with his own talent for design and yes…a partner with cash. I like that his problems aren’t because of his spoiled upbringing or his hated mother or father. He hasn’t had everything handed to him. It is not the excess of money that has stunted his personality. He has been on his own from a very young age. His rough past has made him extremely wary and phobic of being a public figure and trusting people. That twist in the formula completely intrigues me. I also love the average girl side of the recipe. I like that Bong Sun is a grumpy arse, mouthy cop who doesn’t suffer fools but also hasn’t learned the social skills to handle her frustrations gracefully or tactfully. I don’t know why but I adore that she isn’t a “plucky..go get ‘em girl heroine”. I like watching her ‘go get ‘em’ in her own way.

When I first read your thoughts on the lead character’s drowning out the secondary stories I balked but as I thought about it, I think you’re right. But for me it’s only because I think the element in the plot of Hwa Young’s scheming is unnecessary and feels out of place in this drama that has been pretty down to earth and more realistic in it’s story telling. I don’t think there needs to be that melodrama-ish plot point of her turning bad girl. There were other ways they could have handled the complication of her being in Jae Hee’s life and what that means for he and Bong Sun. As a result, I am not interested in her that much other than to just want to smack her. The only other thing I have a problem with is Bong Sun’s step sister and the direction they are taking her. I liked her at first and the possibilities of that relationship. I’m not exactly sure what they are going to do with her now. I’m reserving judgment though, and cutting this show some slack until I see how it unfolds.

I haven’t seen 9 or 10 yet because they are being subbed a bit slow so I’m waiting until more eps air and are subbed… Good Post Graphic Fighter…it got me thinking.

Everything I wanted to say have already been said, LOL. And about Bong Seon's sister, yeah, I liked Kim Dal better in the beginning, I have to confess that I'm scared of her now, because I think she acts like desperate woman. I'm curious how her character will evolve. I hope she will help her sister.

She just said something about needing to leave because Ma Ru was waiting for her...My first thought was: "Ma Ru Oppa?"...But then I came to my senses and remembered Kikwang's character's name is Ma Ru...lol
I am now going to start 9 through 12...and I already hate her. I don't expect this to change. I'm going to want to slap a biotch aren't I? Oh man...

Yes, you will want to cause bodily harm to this woman...

I just finished ep. 10/started ep. 11 and they repeat the same part where just THE one sentence she says somewhere in between there makes you want to do a carousel of slaps... Maybe it's just me and my intense dislike for this woman.
spoileryishness She also richly deserves to be on the rotten tomato in the face award thread. Ugh..maybe I should wait until this drama is done and subbed to continue so I can 'hopefully' continue onto the happy when her reign or terror is over. Also...she better have some consequences to her actions. So many Kdrama arseholes...be they male or female...don't get what's coming to them! I haaaaaate that.

Don't you believe in giving people second chances...? It's all good as long they show remorse at the last possible second. The joy of forgiving and forgetting...:p

She's been on my hit list for a few weeks now. She's so possessive and territorial... I want to shake her...after I slap her that is...lol

I've only seen of episode of Su. Scandal. I don't remember her there, but I passionately hated her in Scent of a Woman. I don't like her here either, but my I'm focusing 85% of my negative thoughts towards Rep. Park...lol

Speaking of Rep. Park...She did NOT just tell her to stay away from him...I know she didn't.
