I guess no matter how, the Cha Shuo Xun character will have to die at the end of the drama. Just a different kind of death compared to the anime? 

Yeah! In the anime, he died after drinking a tea that slowly poisoned him. The FL did not know that the tea she was serving was killing him. He wanted to die at the hands of his love interest, that is how twisted his character was in the anime.
