Synopsis:

The cable television series closely follows the multiple storylines of the A Song of Ice and Fire series,[10] and author Martin has stated that the show's pilot script was very faithful to his work.[11] Set in the Seven Kingdoms of Westeros, Game of Thrones chronicles the violent dynastic struggles among the kingdom's noble families for control of the Iron Throne; as the series opens, additional threats from the snow and ice covered region north of Westeros and from the eastern continent across a narrow sea are simultaneously beginning to rise. ~ Wiki

Trailer:

I started watching this. It's an HBO series and has graphic violence and sex. But a very good story so far.

Has anyone else seen this?
I am halfway-through the books and wondering whether I should give it a try. Does the series' plot match the original story? The poster reminds me of some old Star Trek poster from the eighties or nineties. ;)
I really liked first season, I think the second will air in april if i'm not wrong.. Can't wait ^^ I started to read books too

Aaand - what's your expert opinion? :p Is it worth checking out if I like the books? :)
I think you should, but I just read the first one so I don't know if it sticks to the book from A to Z or not... maybe in the serie there is too much sex? well you should really check it out anyway ^^

If it's well done and fits the story I find some passionate scenes quite entertaining. Just when the story starts to revolve around sex and I find myself thinking I am watching some porn video... ergh, happend to me with the Sookie Stackhouse series. Hallelujah. :p
Oh come ON! Everyone need to watch GoT, cause its one of the gratest series! ^_^

How are you liking the books? Should I put them on my reading list?

I watched all 10 episodes in one day. It was very good. Graphic, but good. I am pretty sure the second season *does* air in a couple weeks. Mid April.

You are so lucky it was such a pain to wait every week for 1 episode!

I recommend it highly! Only 10 episodes for the 1st season. The watching went too fast. I'm glad this wasn't on my radar until now and the new season starts very soon. HBO usually has practically 1 year between seasons. The wait would have been sucky.
So who is ready for season 2? Some Arya, Jon, Daenerys, and Tyrion action. Can't forget the cute baby dragons either. Less than 24 hours for this epic series to continue! "Grabs books" "Winter is coming" :)

Agree!
This one is for sure my favorite show.
Before starting the second season I wanna re-watch the first one. I just have to, I want everything to be fresh in my mind.

And I can't wait for the books to arrive, I ordered them and I wanna start reading as soon as possible. < 3
