Hi there,

I'm looking for Japanese dramas about/with old cultural traditions, for example I've watched Fukuyado Honpo ~ Kyoto Love Story, and I really loved it. The set was simple and refreshing, I even wanted to learn more about Japanese confectionary. It was also interesting to know more about Japanese lacquer in Mare (even if I've dropped this drama).

Do you have some recommendations ?

There are some great historical dramas like JIN, Nobunaga Concerto, Taira no Kiyomori and more.

You can find these interesting Japnaese historical dramas some good like NHK Taiga dramas which are really the best one with longer episodes about 40+ episodes than other J-Drama's broadcasts.

As mentioned above, I would also recommend Osen.

Other than that you may want to try,

  • Kamo Kyoto e Iku (about Japanese traditional inn)
  • Takane no Hana (japanese flower arranging)
  • Haikei Chichiue Sama (japanese cook apprenticeship)

Thank you everyone for your recommendations ! Many dramas seem interesting. I will check it out. Also some NHK Taigas were on my PTW, I want to know if it can fit my taste.
