I absolutely love that trope, and I was hoping that someone had recs. I'm watching Dong Yi right now, and I've watched 100 days my prince, Love in the moonlight, and Legend of Fuyao.I tried watching Yanxi palace but the way the emperor talked to the girls trying to be concubines in the 1st ep did not sit right with me... Also for recs please only happy endings! I've shed enough tears. Thanks in advance! <3

Took me a few attempts to get into Yanxi Palace. It slowly grows on you.

Yes. The last episode is mostly bitter sweet and the ending is technically open, but it's strongly implied to be a happy one for both leads. However, it takes a very, very long time for them to get there and they leave it to the very last scene / last few seconds of the drama.

Okay so i watched Yanxi and i LOVED IT. Do you have any recs that are like that but with happy endings? Chinese preferred!
