W two worlds Season 2:
People want to play the little cops of opinion...
Then they pressure you until you break down, apologize, or pitifully justify yourself.
All this starting from absurd precepts.
If it is not possible to say that someone is ugly because of unchangeable data, it is also not possible to say that someone is pretty for the same reasons.
All Kpop fan clubs can close down immediately.
Intellectual dishonesty + unhealthy oppression.

I couldn't say it better, can I use some of it to edit the original post?

Being called pretty or ugly has nothing to do with the concepts o right or wrong or your abilities, most of this comments are just too sensible with usless things like this thread.

i think his looks are average nor bad nor good, ive seen other male leads with worse looks which is why sometimes i dont watch that specific drama

I understand that we're supposed to respect other people's opinion but I refuse to walk on egg shells when I believe something is wrong. I truly, strongly and wholeheartedly believe using the word 'ugly' to describe another human being is wrong. Imagine how devastating it would be to hear, "You are ugly" vs "I don't find you attractive". They both sting but at least one makes it clear that it's subjective.

I agree with you.  I think the person who first stated this could have chosen there words more thoughtful. For all I know it could be there second language so I cant say much but yeah.

We all have our biases, right? Personally I am not drawn to tall gorgeous muscled blonde surfer types, but I get why some women are. This actor`s smile is a knock-out - plain and simple. In future please use the term ugly more judiciously - it`s really harsh.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion but...ugly is a strong word, you can't say i hate a specific race and get away with it right, it's just because it's a strong word which might heavily affect a person's feeling. So, it maybe better if you try to say it in a nicer way so that it doesn't seem rude. I am not a fan of his look too, this is a good way to see it without hurting people's feeling, subtle change but bigger benefits.

If you can call someone ugly and say it's fine as it's an opinion, i can look at a poor person and call him a beggar, or say something racist and say it's an opinion. If you don't plan to change it, i don't mind at all, it's all what people prefer in the end, but it's a bit better if you consider others feelings too. it's soo bad to ruin people's day with negative thoughts you know. Anyways, have a nice day.

The amount of hate comments piling up in my notification list proves how jobless ppl on this thread

ehhh, if you are here watching kdrama, that shows you have way too much time in your hands tbh. So, it isn't that different brother/sis.

calling someone ugly isn’t an opinion, it’s an insult lol

Tbf true.

I think this thread, much like others, points to the confusion that exists between people and how difficult it is to get across your own thoughts and opinions with others. It was a poorly crafted question that seemed really informal, yet the first post and subsequent ones sought some sort of formal discussion about personal preferences which rarely ends well. I saw the drama and liked it. I did not find that anyone's appearance prevented me from starting or finishing it.

There's a body of evidence that suggests that people who out others as 'ugly' (physically) are often physically ugly themselves. That's because ' ugly' carries at least three meanings/is arrived at from a number of perspectives.  (a) It means that the person on which one is commentating doesn't fulfil the societal norms for beauty (slimness, symmetry), that (b) you personally don't find them attractive, though others do and (c) that you are 'signalling' - by being judgemental/feeling that you have the right to judge - that you are 'more' attractive, even if you have a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp.

God damnnn, my man went deep and destroyed his soul right there.

I just think it's an interesting phenomenon.   Also, I don't think particularly moronic, or vile, opinions need to be respected. I wouldn't feel the need to 'respect' the opinion of an anti-vaxxer, or a racist or a homophobe or a flat earther.   I'm a big fan of "Be open-minded but not so open that your brains fall out."
