Suggesting that this community is unable to interpret the validity of information regarding the topics people here are passionate about is kind of doing a disservice to us users.
I'm not saying this. I'm saying that those changes might go unnoticed for a long time before someone discovers the fake info. I have been on Wikipedia and I see the fake info being added and the fights there daily. It seriously discouraged me from editing on Wikipedia because spammers or vandalizers could easily revert good edits to add their spam and nonsense. It was being done daily and I saw the good work of some people go to waste. I asked people about your suggestion here (because I wanted to see people's opinions as the feed page is more visited than the forums) and actually some people had the same experience I had on Wikipedia.

I don't really see edits being discussed much on the pages I visit and if I do the conversation doesn't really go anywhere. I've personally asked edit questions and have received no reply from anyone. Maybe if people had more say as far as edits they'd be more open to discussing them.
See https://mydramalist.com/58827-miss-lee-knows comment section. Also, in this case, we see 2 very good editors, one wants this page to be 4 episode and the other wants it as 8 episodes. The number would keep changing if there is no one stopping them.

I'm not trying to suggest taking away your approval positions - I'm glad that this site takes its reliability seriously - but spreading the wealth might do some good in the long run.
I'm not worried that I will be removed as it will be less work for me and I could focus more on adding missing films/actors, instead, I just worry that we will get spam and fake info. No one is restricting the users' ability to add things, just that it needs to be verified first and we approve it (which takes less than 24 hours). We never reject the correct info, and we do ask for sources if we can't verify the info.
I think what could work is adding edit history page and edit the discussion page to each drama/person/film page. Then a user sends in the submission linking the edit discussion and staff quickly review it and approve.
Or have users with over 1000+ edits able to automatically edit, but have staff monitor submissions from new users.
