I liked the story, just didn't quite like chemistry between the FL and Xiao Zhan, it's like...nonexistent lol. No hate towards them, it was probably because this was her first acting role.

I can see why some people were shipping xiao zhan and yang zi lol

Cute and easy to watch, the type of drama that's easy to rate since it's nothing crazy or a brain thinker.

Now this one was a brain thinker drama, harder to rate for me lol.
But it was different, original enough for me, great acting as always, love the guest appearances. Solid 9.

I actually correctly predicted how it would end lol. It was almost a given for that to happen.

This! Thisss! Wow the chemistry! Just between all the characters. No boring moments. 

I know there were complaints over its simplicity in problems getting solved, but it just made it not stressful to watch lol. Enjoyed the nice and quick resolutions.

Old Kdramas and Cdramas got me tireddd with the stressful storylines and unresolved problems til the last ep, so I've never rewatched them, but this one got me rewatching already.

I didn't have much expectations for this drama because I don't quite like this time period, but I really enjoyed this! It wasn't so political, but more of the growth of the characters during transitional times. 

And can we just appreciate Xiao Zhan and Li Qin's chemistry! When great actors also have great chemistry, it just seals the drama. 

Loved it. Different, refreshing, interesting. Li Qin once again with great acting with Zhang Ruo Yun.

9.5 only cuz 46 eps later and I still gotta wait for another season lol.

Ah...IDEK lol. Still a decent watch.

Han Hyo Joo been picking up some great dramas lately. And with the star studded cast you know it'd be a good one.

And it really was. I did hope for a little more action, but I still enjoyed it.

LOVE. So funny, and this one sealed the deal in making me lovee Shin Hye Sun! She was really the star of this show!

Kim Jung Hyun didn't really stand out in this drama, like almost at all, and I want to assume that's because of his character.

Once again, another great Han Hyo Joo drama. Really loved the concept. And I really liked her with Park Hyung Shik! 

I really only watched cuz this was in the top 20 most popular Chinese dramas, and for Bai Lu and Luo Yun Xi as everyone said they had amazing chemistry.

They did have good chemistry. I wouldn't say the best, as I've seen them with better chemistry with other costars.

Very good acting from both though, especially Luo Yun Xi. He did really well in this. I would say it's one of his best acting.

But tbh I don't think this deserves to be in the top 20 popular Chinese dramas lol. 

I didn't know what to expect, but it turned out very well. Waiting for season 2.

I also didn't know what to expect of this drama, as the title was so vague and even the synopsis didn't sound that interesting nor fit with the title.

But somehow, wow, just...wow. I loved the characters and the development of the story. 

OKAY BUT WU LEI?!? HOLY this has to be my most fave character of his! He stole the showww he fit this character's charisma and charm SO MUCH. Like I was falling for him myself!

Dilraba was great as always. Their chemistry was just a bit off and I'm guessing it's due to their age difference. I still swooned over their scenes though lol.

8/10 +0.5 for Wu Lei's characterrrr!

All I can remember from this drama is the hilarious directional lighting on the evil characters to make it extra suspenseful and scheming LOL. It was too funny.

Decent remake. I just can't stand actors/actresses that just pouts to relay an upset emotion (that's Zu Xu Dan throughout this whole drama), unless their character is supposed to act cute in that scene.

Chen Yu Qi did well, and Joseph Zeng has improved in his acting since this drama.

I felt no chemistry between any of the main characters lol. Just good acting.

And okay but the character Yang Xiao's charm though?? Like I never even looked at him like that, but the actor (Lin Yu Shen) they chose to play him got me paying attentionn. I also enjoyed his chemistry with his costar more.

I. Loved. Thisss. The slow burrrnn, the humorrrr, the great scriptttt. Sealed the deal in making me love Zhao Lu Si! I loved her character in thisss (just this first part).

Ahhh, I was so hoping it would develop entirely differently than how it developed. I am so sad about this...

But I still really enjoyed it. Just couldn't be a 10 for me.

I reeally wanted to like this, I really wanted to cheat and just give it a high rating for Xiao Zhan. Cuz he was beautiful in this.

But I just couldn'tt. I couldn't stand the textbook bouncy character Zhu Yan. It just felt very textbook acting by Ren Min. Cry is supposed to look like this. Happy is supposed to look like this etc. It felt very one-dimensional.

And lack of chemistry always kills a drama. 7/10 cuz it's still watchable.

Xu Kai always does amazing. He doesn't get enough credit for his acting.

But Cheng Xiao....my god I cannot stand actors/actresses that shows ONE EMOTION. People keep defending her that it's her character...but I've seen her in some other dramas and it's the saaameee.

Other than that I enjoyed this drama.

Went from looking forwarding to season 2 to somehow not looking forward to season 3...lol

It took some episodes for me to get into this, but once I did, ah I loved it!

This was the drama that made me love Xu Kai and Bai Lu together cuz their chemistry was wonderful! It is where one actor's acting skill brings out the other actor's acting skill, where one plays on the others' expression or help bring out certain expressions from each other. They complement each other so well in here.

And the story was good, too, as it progressed, got me crying~

Idk... I feel like the villain trend is starting in C dramas so everyone just loves any dramas with MC villains. This one didn't do it for me the way Love Between Fairy and Devil did or other dramas of that sort.

And it felt like Luo Yun Xi and Bai Lu became comfortable with eo (like friends wise) after their first drama together, so their chemistry just felt more like good acting lol. And some character behaviors acted by Luo Yun Xi felt a little comical like it was oldschool textbook evil acting lool.

I still enjoyed watching it, and it's still a good watch. 

Finding out this was actually based on a true story actually made me more invested in it.

And man...the IRL drama this drama exposed lol.

The chemistry was no good though lol. But I still enjoyed watching it to see the outcome.

I think people watched mainly for the star actors. The story is good but not very solid. It got boring sometimes. And Hyung Shik acting so girly sometimes got me laughing and can't take some scenes seriously lol.

What is thisss. Like...what is this are we back in 2010? lol

The only reason I watched is cuz it was in the top 20 popular Cdramas on here. Not deserved lol.

Here's to hoping the popular Cdramas page will change in the next couple years.

I always enjoy the Ossan's Love series, even if it's another version. Still fun to watch.

I'm torn with this one. Not sure how to rate this, so I left it sitting unrated for a while.

I loved the beginning very much. Super cute and funny. Then it went through a rollercoaster of climatic moment > fizzing out > climatic > and repeat. Sometimes it felt like it could've ended at 20-25 episodes.

However, after sitting on it, I still did quite enjoy it a lot. I probably wouldn't rewatch the whole thing. Just the beginning and some scenes in between.

Not your typical drama as you won't get the kind of revelation/closure that you'd expect by the end. Great acting though no doubt.

The beginning was a solid 9-9.5 for me. Wonderful writing and characters.

It slowly slipped near the end for me though. I didn't engage with it as much as the first 8-10 episodes. But I'll still give it a 9 for its rawness. A great life drama.

Okay. This drama really got me going through an obsessive period of wanting to watch more wuxia dramas after.

I love how there are so many cool, important and powerful characters lol. And the MCs (main characters) were just so fun to watch their antics.
I'm a little sad at the way it progressed by the end though because I truly loooved the beginning. I was hooked til almost the end. I'm sad they drifted from the Wu Xin-centered storyline at the beginning. It was honestly what made the drama so interesting. He was so mysterious yet cheeky. And then they just...changed topic lol. Hoping season 2 will show his impact again.

And I freaking love Li Hong Yi and Ao Rui Peng's real life bromance though??? They're like 1 braincell?? lskfslkjf

Still giving this 9.5/10 cuz I rewatched and still love it.

Yes I watched this after seeing Li Hong Yi in The Blood of Youth and wanted to see more of him xD and also I love Zhao Lu Si. 

It was kind of an amateurish drama, but I had fun watching it cuz Li Hong Yi's character was so damn flirty and seducing Zhao Lu Si's character liiikeee lmao. They both looked so young in here thoughh loool

I enjoyed seeing them onscreen together. And them offscreen was total chaos too LOL.

Not as good as the first part, but surprisingly still very good. I still enjoyed watching this with Go Youn Jung as the FL.

Maybe I just love Lee Jae Wook's acting lol he always delivers (the ppl that only judge him on his looks can all burn. He is a wonderful actor).

I should've watched this when it was first released. It was so popular when it was released.

Now it's one of the dramas that didn't feel like it aged well. 

Lets just say... the eyes were what gave him away.

I was back and forth with this being 9 or 10 (mainly cuz of the ending), but honestly I haven't watched a drama with such great character connection and chemistry in a long time (since Reply 1988 probably). It was just so fun and lovable to watch all of them together.

IDC what anyone says, I looved this drama and had no problem with the FC. She was SUPPOSED to be this way because she didn't have all her senses.

I also loooved the characters' chemistry and their love story, it was so damn heart wrenchingly beautiful I cried a bucketttt. This sealed the deal in making me a Cheng Yi fannn. I am obsesssedd with him now.

And the OST??? AMAZING. Adds so much more depth and painnn to the drama.

And wow Yang Zi was so pretty in this. I actually enjoyed watching this drama. It's a nice drama for new Xianxia watchers (myself), but the characters and even main story isn't really new or original. I felt like it was quite similar to Love and Redemption (most of the cast from there are in this) and Ashes of Love. It just felt like a mash-up of different xianxia dramas lol.
I still enjoyed it cuz Yang Zi and Cheng Yi did very well in this. And the storyline kept developing enough to keep me invested.

Also another amazing OST!

Ahh...second part always fizzes out in its charm. It became too mellow and serious after things are revealed.

Idk... I really liked them in Eternal Love, but the story in this drama didn't really attract my attention. I guess many watch just to see them together again. Or a fan of Dilraba cuz she was sooo pretty and adorable in this!

I wasn't expecting the deepness of this drama, but wow the writing really caught my attention. Many lines were so beautiful and profound.

And literally this whole drama was a whole eye-candied cast, no complaints here lol. The acting was good enough by all to relay the deep messages.

More importantly...the second lead couple (Gong Shang Jue & Shangguan Qian) though???  THE CHEMISTRY THOUGH?? I looved watching them omg.

And also the brotherhood/bromance thouughhh?? Ah *chefs kiss* And great OST as well.

Cheng Yi MADE this drama a 10. That's it. Probably his best role to date. Like he got the character's whole demeaner down. You know it's a perfect casting when you can't see any other actor that can replace the one playing that specific role. And I live for the trio's friendship/bromance.

So underrated in popularity. Criminally low amount of watchers for this drama (17k from Jul 2024. I wanna see this number grow over time and make it to the top of the Cdramas popular list!). 

I would loove for a season 2!

I know some people had a problem with Zhang Linghe's character being too mean/aggressive sometimes to the FLC (female lead character). I guess we should acknowledge the writer's attempt at a realistic character--given the character's history--that does not know how to express himself properly in normal and romantic settings.

The special also sort of reiterates it by what Bai Lu's character said.

The story overall was good. I let it sit to see what I wanted to rate it. 8-8.5 seems fair as it kept viewers engaged with the storyline as it developed and characters were interesting to watch.

This felt more like a melodramatic, slice-of-life drama. The FLC just trying to figure herself out--who she likes, what she wants in a partner, given all the choices of potential partners around her as we see her interact with each of them, and guessing ourselves who she will choose in the end. 

The viewers were quite divided on who they want her to end up with lool, so that was interesting to see people change their choices as the drama progresses. 

Storyline wise it didn't really progress much. I also watched cuz everyone loved Tan Jian Ci's silver haired character lool.
BUT I gotta give it to Yang Zi, this might be her best role yet!! Now I understand why she is one of the most popular actresses. WOW I was so impressed with her acting in this, she portrayed her gender-bender character soo well! All the way down to the whole demeaner (leg shake and everythingg). I definitely believed her as a tomboy (not just a girl portraying a feminine boy like sooo many other gender-bender characters out there).
And her crying!! HOLY I crieddd a bucket when she crieedd, it was such a heart-wrenching cry.

8/10 +0.5 for Yang Zi's perfect portrayal of a tomboy.
