She married Leung Ting Ping (梁廷斌), owner of the Choi Butterfly Pavilion (采蝶軒) bakery chain, in 1976 and briefly retired from acting, settling in the UK. Following their divorce in 1981, she returned to Hong Kong and resumed her career. In 1989, she remarried and relocated to the UK, where she had a daughter. However, she divorced again in 2005 and returned to Hong Kong to focus on acting.
Since 1997, she has also engaged in dancing.
In 2019, she was diagnosed with uterine cancer and underwent surgery followed by six rounds of chemotherapy. In 2021, she was further diagnosed with breast cancer.
