The language is Cantonese. People in Hong Kong speak Cantonese, and I’ve watched Hong Kong dramas all my life, so I can easily tell the difference between Mandarin and Cantonese.
I haven’t read the novel, and I noticed some inconsistencies between the English subtitles on GagaOOLala and YouTube. Could someone please help confirm a couple of things?
1) In episode 2, Liu Yi’s sister jumps off a building. Is she his actual biological sister, or is she his sister-in-law?
2) The boss who gets killed in episode 2, is he really Liu Yi’s biological brother? In the gangster world, people sometimes call each other “brothers” after swearing loyalty, even if they’re not related by blood, so I’m not sure if they are actual siblings or just sworn brothers.
What a great start to the series! It follows a pretty classic plot where the main boss is killed and the protagonist gets blamed for the murder he didn’t commit. Then he ends up running into his future lover by accident while on the run. I’ve seen this type of storyline many times, but seeing it done as a BL makes it feel really fresh and exciting to watch.

I agree. I really loved her character. She’s an orphan who has to work hard to take care of her younger sister, so she doesn’t really have many choices in life. That’s why she becomes a butcher. What makes the show so unique is how she uses her butcher and knife skills to fight. I think that concept is really interesting and different from most other shows.
I’m a bit confused about the story. Is the little ghost girl in Dao’s room actually Arthit’s mother? If she died when she was still a child, how was she able to grow up and give birth to Arthit?

Wow, I was hooked from start to finish. The Price of Confession is intense, smart, and never boring for a single minute. The two female leads are phenomenal, delivering powerful performances that completely steal the show. Packed with suspense, mystery, and chilling mind games, this drama keeps you on edge the entire time. Dark, gripping, and unforgettable. An easy 10 out of 10.
Great cast, and I genuinely like the actors, so I don’t want to be negative. However, after episode two, the story starts to feel weak. Three university students who are supposed to be studying are instead spending their time walking around campus putting up heart-shaped stickers with photos of their crushes, which doesn’t feel realistic at all. If you’re going to do a university BL, it should at least feel believable. University life should focus more on studying and personal growth, not posting pictures of your lover all over campus. I’m also hoping the entire 12-episode plot won’t just be Duang chasing after Qinn, with Qinn playing hard to get the whole time and only accepting his love at the very end. I really like the cast, but after the second episode, the storyline just isn’t working for me so far.

I agree with you. Even though the plot is messy, I genuinely enjoy this show. It is the only BL right now that keeps me excited for Saturdays. The entire crew, staff, and cast work day and night to bring this series to life. If it is not your cup of tea, that is fine. Just move on. There is so much negativity, and I cannot help but think about how the actors might feel reading those comments. This kind of negativity is exactly what gets shows cancelled. I like this show, and I agree with you. It is not for everyone, but it is for us.
