I haven't read the novel or the manhwa, so I went into the series with no expectations and reviewed it based solely on what I watched. I absolutely loved it. Now I'm curious to read the novel and the manhwa to see if they give me a different perspective. Do you happen to have a link to the novel and manhwa?

I’m on episode 3 and I’m really enjoying this drama. The plot is so interesting, but I’m not a big fan of cheating, especially when it involves a family member.

The sister was so nice and even introduced her boyfriend to tutor her younger brother, Natsuki. 😭

If Natsuki developed feelings for Sota, and Sota also developed feelings for Natsuki, I’m okay with that as long as Sota broke up with the sister first. But if they actually liked each other, started dating and kissed behind the sister’s back, then I’m definitely not okay with that. 😭

I really hope it doesn’t go down that route because I’m actually enjoying this drama so much! I’m invested in the plot now, so please don’t ruin it for me. 😂

Thank you! I really appreciate your kind words, and I completely understand where you’re coming from. We don’t…
No worries, I also gave you a flower award 🌸 for your comment. I really like how you don’t always agree with me, but you’re still so nice and respectful about it. It’s honestly refreshing, especially compared to some other users here on MDL who can be so rude and disrespectful.

I’m so over all the negativity. For me, positivity is the way to go! 😊

Yes, I agree. In terms of changing the industry and raising the bar for K dramas, if we compare 2026 The Prosecutor’s Proposal to 2024 Love in the Big City, I think Love in the Big City definitely takes it. It was raw, realistic and unique, and you could really feel the pain Ko Yeong went through.

Especially the storyline about him catching HIV. It felt so realistic, yet it’s something many BLs rarely mention or explore. I have to give it to Nam Yoon Su as well. He did an amazing job bringing Ko Yeong and the whole story to life.

It’s interesting how it’s only ever BL with nc scenes that get labeled as “porn” but never hetero series…
I’ve seen tonnes of heterosexual Asian dramas with explicit sex scenes, yet no one calls them porn. I can name a few if you like. 😂 Some of the actors are actually quite famous, and some of these dramas are on Netflix as well.

I can only name 3 for now because I have to head to work, but there are literally hundreds of Asian dramas with explicit sex scenes and full nudity, and no one calls them porn.

Another naughty episode dropped! I'm obsessed, but 168 hours of waiting for a 13-minute episode should be illegal. 😂

And who carries ointment around like it’s a normal everyday essential?! And honestly, I’ve always liked doing it in the office. There’s just something about the thrill of it, and this series definitely nailed that vibe 😂

And then the “You dirty old men!” line took me OUT 😹 I was laughing so hard!

In fact, quite a lot! I counted 18 shows we have in common, including both mainstream Chinese dramas and BLs. We have the same score for many of them, and while there are a few where we slightly disagree, there are actually a lot more shows where we’re completely on the same page and both loved them.

Pursuit of Jade
Legend of the Female General
The East Palace
Reset (Time Loop)
Coroner's Diary
Payback
Revenged Love
Double Helix
Fake Fact Lips
Secret Lover
Unknown
The Eighth Sense
The Next Prince
Ball Boy Tactics
See Your Love
Double Exposure
My Stubborn

It's really a shame looking at your profile and seeing how many great Korean Bls you watched, but yet you think…
That’s the beauty of personal taste, I guess! 😂 I’ve watched a lot of great Korean BLs, and I’ve genuinely enjoyed many of them, but this one just connected with me the most.

This is simply the one that has stood out to me the most in 2026 so far. I said The Prosecutor's Proposal is for 2026.

But you’re right. Before you edited your comment, I saw you mentioned Love in the Big City, and that was the best Korean BL series I watched back in 2024. I gave it a 10/10. I still remember the director releasing all 8 episodes on the same day. I binged them all because the director was afraid the series might get banned, so instead of releasing it weekly, they decided to drop everything at once. It felt so realistic and definitely captured the LGBT 🏳️‍🌈 experience much more than the usual fluffy BLs. It definitely set the bar for Korean Drama in 2024, It was so unique and genuinely great. I didn’t write a review for that one because I only started writing reviews in 2025.

I always admire your reviews and though we don’t always agree I still admire your critical eye. I struggled…
Thank you! I really appreciate your kind words, and I completely understand where you’re coming from. We don’t always have to agree on a drama to appreciate each other’s perspectives, and I respect your critical eye as well. Some dramas just don’t click with me either despite having high reviews, like Gelboys, while other people absolutely love them. I guess that’s the beauty of MDL. We all have different tastes and can share our thoughts, agree to disagree, and discuss what worked or didn’t work for us. There’s no right or wrong when it comes to personal opinions. I’m also curious to see these two actors grow and take on more challenging roles as they get older and gain more experience. ❤️

FYI I also love reading your reviews, and we actually have a lot of shows in common that we both enjoy as well!

I think you’re looking at this drama as if Jay is supposed to behave like a healthy, emotionally mature, green…
Fair enough. Some dramas just don’t click with me as well at all despite having high reviews, like Gelboys, while others absolutely love it. I guess we’re all different, and that’s the beauty of MDL. We can all share and discuss our thoughts because there’s no right or wrong answer when it comes to personal opinions.

Me too, one episode a week is so painful

“He’s mine.”

“I like you.”

“It’s a bug, a big and hairy one.”

The confession was so straightforward, no beating around the bush. 😂

I loved this show so much. It’s honestly perfect. Waiting one whole week for each episode is so hard!

Thank God I have 8 Japanese 🇯🇵 BLs airing right now, all spread throughout the week. This is the first time I’ve had more Japanese BLs airing than Thai 🇹🇭 BLs. 😂

People getting gag over sex scence that aired in this series ,ull needs to watch The Prosecutor's Proposal (2026)🥵🫣🌚.it's…
Yes, I watched it! That was such a hot scene.

The hate kiss scene followed by his lips 👄 bleeding in Episode 2 was the highlight for me.

The scene in Episode 4 was hot as well, but it was way too short.

We are so spoiled this year with amazing plots and excellent NC scenes. These are definitely my favourites of 2026 so far:

🇰🇷 South Korea: The Prosecutor’s Proposal
🇨🇳 China: Deep In
🇯🇵 Japan: Fake Fact Lips
🇹🇭 Thailand: Payback
🇹🇼 Taiwan: Wishing Upon the Shooting Stars

I just completed ep6 and I don't understand Jay. I thought he knew who Sun was. So all this time he was seducing…
Firstly, it was Sun who initiated the sex. Jay said that as long as he didn’t bottom, he was okay with it, so they both agreed.

Sun was crying because five years ago, his brother died and then his mother passed away.

Bank was the one who caused both deaths. He stole the money, which meant Sun’s mother didn’t receive treatment in time. Not only did Sun lose the two people closest to him, but his boyfriend also betrayed him, stole his money and ghosted him. That’s why he broke down and cried during that scene.

Jay isn’t supposed to be a green flag character, but I think you’ll like him more as the episodes go on. Jay was also going through a difficult time that night, and there is a reason why his arm was broken. I don’t want to spoil it for you though. You’ll have to watch more episodes to understand what happened.

just finished it and hated it all over again. it's like jay is manipulating sun into liking him, making him believe…
I think you’re looking at this drama as if Jay is supposed to behave like a healthy, emotionally mature, green flag partner, when that was never the kind of character or story this was trying to portray.

Yes, Jay manipulates Sun. Yes, he is possessive, obsessive and morally questionable. That is literally the point of his character and one of the main reasons many of us found the story interesting. You’re describing the exact things you hated as if the drama accidentally forgot to make Jay a good boyfriend. It didn’t. We understood what he was doing and still enjoyed watching it.

And the idea that Jay only wanted Sun for sex is also an oversimplification. Their relationship is complicated and unhealthy, but reducing every interaction between them to “Jay just wants sex” ignores everything else happening between the characters.

As for the topping and bottoming issue, I agree that being a top or bottom has nothing to do with someone’s personality, dominance or worth in real life. But this is a fictional story with characters who have their own psychology, trauma and preferences. You don’t have to agree with Jay’s behaviour to understand why the writers included it.

And honestly, if Jay suddenly stopped manipulating Sun, became emotionally mature, respected every boundary, communicated perfectly and focused on making Sun happy and free, then we would basically have a completely different drama. It would lose the intensity, toxicity and psychological tension that made this series so addictive for many viewers.

You hated the exact elements that I loved. That’s completely fine. One person’s trash is another person’s treasure. You hated the drama enough to avoid the manhwa, while I was completely addicted and looked forward to every episode. Neither of us needs to pretend the other person’s taste is objectively wrong just because we experienced the story differently.

This is such a boring, unappealing and very silly plot, that couldn't catch my interest at all. A waste of time.…
Even before the NC scenes, this series already had a high rating. It stayed at 8.6 for a very long time and eventually climbed to 8.9, so clearly people were enjoying much more than just the NC scenes.

Glad you liked the NC scene, since at least that helped compensate for the plot you didn’t like

At the end of the day, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure. You didn’t like the plot, but for me, it was exactly what I wanted. I thought it was amazing, I was never bored, and I was completely addicted. I looked forward to every episode every week. Different tastes, I guess 😂
